BTTH : From Humble Beginnings to Dou Di

Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Reunion with Xiao Yixian

As Lin Feng unleashed another dou technique, a crisp crack sound echoed from He Meng's body.

Immediately after, He Meng's real body, which was protected by his dou qi, violently collided with Lin Feng's Scarlet Flame Palm.

"Boom!"

The immense force caved in He Meng's chest, his eyes bulging in shock.

The back of his clothes instantly tore apart, revealing a deep palm imprint seared onto his flesh.

"Pfft~"

The impact shattered He Meng's internal organs, crushing them completely under the overwhelming dou qi.

Blood mixed with fragments of his ruptured organs surged up his throat, forcefully spewing out of his mouth under the pressure.

His body was then sent flying backward at high speed, crashing through several tents before finally coming to a halt.

"Third Captain!"

The surrounding mercenaries panicked and rushed to him, hurriedly taking out healing medicine.

After all, if He Meng—an eight-star Dou Zhe—was completely defeated, then they, who were even weaker, wouldn't stand a chance at survival.

As they got closer, the mercenaries noticed the horrifying dent in He Meng's chest, and fear crept into their hearts.

One of the braver mercenaries hesitantly reached out to check He Meng's breathing, only to recoil in horror.

"The Third Captain is dead! Run!"

"Heh… do you really think you can escape?"

Hearing their panicked shouts, Lin Feng chuckled coldly before swiftly giving chase.

Moments later, the remaining mercenaries were all slain by him.

After looting He Meng's Storage Ring, Lin Feng proceeded to search the corpses of the other mercenaries before turning and leaving toward Qingshan Town.

He needed to meet up with Xiao Yixian as soon as possible—before Mu She learned that the two squads in the Magic Beast Mountain Range had been wiped out.

Then, he would launch a surprise attack on the Wolf Head Mercenary Group's base and catch them off guard!

Once again stepping into the bustling streets of the small town, Lin Feng listened to the noisy chatter around him.

After two months of isolation from human society, he couldn't help but sigh.

"Humans really are creatures that thrive in groups."

If he were to spend decades alone in the wild, would he even remember how to speak?

Turning through a few alleyways, the lively sounds gradually faded. Lin Feng followed a quiet path, walking at a steady pace.

A short while later, a small yet elegant manor appeared in his line of sight.

At the entrance, the guards stood in strict formation—over ten fully armed men vigilantly standing watch.

Lin Feng's brows furrowed slightly as he shifted his gaze.

Instead of approaching directly, he circled around to the side of the manor. After carefully scouting the area, he silently climbed over the wall.

Inside, Lin Feng moved cautiously, skillfully avoiding patrolling guards.

After some observation, he determined the direction and headed toward the area with the highest concentration of guards.

Dodging a few more patrols, he soon arrived in front of a secluded room.

At the entrance, four guards stood stationed.

However, their gazes occasionally flickered toward the room—not with the vigilance of protection, but with the scrutiny of surveillance.

Seeing this, Lin Feng was certain—this was Xiao Yixian's room.

"It seems she hasn't been having a good time lately… but this actually works in my favor."

With a slight smirk, Lin Feng moved toward the back of the room.

Behind the building lay a small lake, and he carefully stepped onto the wooden beams extending over the water.

Slowly, he edged his way toward the open window.

Moments later, his hand grasped the windowsill, and he carefully leaned inside.

His feet silently touched the floor as he scanned the elegantly decorated room, taking in the serene and peaceful ambiance.

"Not bad."

A faint medicinal fragrance lingered in the air.

Lin Feng immediately noticed something was off—it was poison!

He quickly held his breath, halting his inhalation.

His sharp gaze swept across the room, and through the soft pink curtains, he could make out a faintly silhouetted figure…

Taking a few steps forward, Lin Feng lifted the curtain and cast his gaze inside.

On a small platform, a young woman dressed in a flowing white robe was meticulously preparing medicinal powder.

Every so often, she would use a small crystal stick to pick up a bit of powder and bring it to her delicate nose, inhaling its scent gently.

As she mixed in another portion of powder, she suddenly sensed something and swiftly lifted her head.

However, when her eyes met the familiar, smiling face of the young man before her, the coldness in her gaze gradually faded.

Glancing briefly toward the door, she waved lightly at Lin Feng.

Smiling, Lin Feng walked over to the platform, sat cross-legged, and chuckled, "Back then, you didn't listen to my warning. Looks like I was right, wasn't I?"

"Hmph."

Recalling their previous conversation, Xiao Yixian let out a soft snort.

She wrinkled her dainty nose slightly, a hint of embarrassment flashing across her face, but she remained stubborn.

"I just didn't expect people to be so treacherous. After Mu She and the Wolf Head Mercenary Group spread the information about that cave, the mercenaries in Qingshan Town—the very ones I saved—heard rumors that I had Black Class cultivation techniques and dou techniques.

"Yet, despite the fact that I saved their lives, they were willing to betray me, constantly trying to get their hands on those nonexistent high-class techniques."

She shot Lin Feng a sideways glance, as if blaming him for bringing up the matter.

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she quickly stood up.

Taking a few light steps toward Lin Feng, she gently waved her slender fingers and whispered, "Don't say anything yet."

With that, Xiao Yixian pulled out a small jade bottle from her bosom.

She carefully extracted a single drop of pale red liquid and took Lin Feng's hand, softly applying it to his skin.

Watching Xiao Yixian's delicate hands as she attentively rubbed the liquid onto his palm, Lin Feng chuckled, "This must be the antidote to the poison mist you've filled this room with, right?"

"Oh? You noticed?"

Xiao Yixian blinked in surprise. After finishing the application, she released his hand and looked at him curiously.

Admiring the beauty before him, Lin Feng smirked and said confidently, "Did you forget? I'm an alchemist. Even though I've never specialized in poisons, I can still deduce some things based on the properties of the herbs you used."

"That makes sense."

Remembering that Lin Feng was an alchemist, Xiao Yixian immediately understood.

She then gazed at him with a playful glint in her eyes and asked with a smile, "So, did you come all the way here just to save me?"

Lin Feng took a step forward, closing the distance between them to less than a foot.

As he stared directly into her bright, intelligent eyes, he caught the faint fragrance of her body.

Grinning, he teased, "Of course. How could I bear to let such a stunning beauty suffer here?"

Xiao Yixian turned her head slightly, rubbing her lightly flushed cheeks.

She pouted and said with feigned annoyance, "You never act serious. Just a while ago in the Magic Beast Mountain Range, you even threatened to cut my face with a knife. There's no way I'm believing your sweet talk. So, tell me, what do you really want?"

Lin Feng awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Hehe, back then, we weren't exactly friends yet."

His expression then turned serious as he continued, "I came this time to settle the score with the Wolf Head Mercenary Group.

"I want your help."
