The Black Lotus Soul Thunder ranks third on the Thunder Soul Ranking! The origins of this thunder are cloaked in mystery; even Mo Yu in his past life was unable to unravel its secrets. Yet, the Black Lotus Soul Thunder stands out among the twelve Thunder Souls for its unique and eerie qualities.

Unlike other Thunder Souls, which excel in raw combat power, the Black Lotus Soul Thunder possesses terrifying abilities in controlling the mind and soul. With strong enough soul power and the Black Lotus Soul Thunder's influence, Mo Yu can practically enslave any fighter with a soul power below the fifth grade. If fully restored, it would even allow him to dominate souls stronger than his own.

In his past life, Mo Yu relied on the Black Lotus Soul Thunder's chilling prowess to build a force that shook the continent within a few short years, which ultimately led to his being targeted by both righteous and evil factions alike.

This miraculous power had long made him yearn to awaken the thunder's full potential. Unfortunately, his soul power was previously too weak, and the resources required to nourish the Black Lotus Soul Thunder were far too rare.

Treasures that enhance soul power are extremely scarce on the continent. Such items are nearly impossible to find even within the Jia Ma Empire, let alone in Wu Tan City.

However, with the recent gift of the Celestial Jade Essence Stone from the Grand Elder and a potential subject in Yan, Mo Yu now has a rare chance. His prior order to Zi Huo to spare Yan's life was for this very purpose.

Mo Yu hadn't expected to acquire materials to cultivate the Black Lotus Soul Thunder so soon. So, the plan to control Yan began immediately. Thanks to the Black Lotus Soul Thunder's power and Mo Yu's own formidable soul power, he quickly enslaved Yan, a well-known expert in the Black-Corner Region, within a single day.

If news of this spread, it would undoubtedly shake the continent, and Mo Yu might find himself blacklisted by many factions in the region.

The Black Lotus Soul Thunder may not easily enslave just anyone. For instance, although Yan is a Dou Huang expert, controlling him is still quite taxing. If Mo Yu were to enslave even one more Dou Wang expert, it would put an enormous strain on his soul, potentially crushing it under the pressure.

Still, to Mo Yu, having a Dou Huang servant is enough, as it compensates for the absence of a Dou Huang guardian in Yuan Manor. With the continuous growth of his soul power and the development of the Black Lotus Soul Thunder, Mo Yu will be able to control even stronger beings in the future.

"Put this on and take my insignia. Go report to the Worship Hall later. From now on, you'll serve as an enshrined protector of Yuan Manor. Call me 'Lord' in public and keep your identity hidden for now."

Mo Yu handed Yan a black robe and a metallic token inscribed with the word "Yuan," then unshackled him from his thick chains. Freed from his restraints, Yan's gaze flickered with a strange light, but a dark lotus mark on his forehead pulsed with a sinister black glow.

His face twisted in pain, and soon he nodded in submission, saying, "Yes, my lord."

Mo Yu handed him the items, watching as Yan donned the robe. With his tall, powerful frame now cloaked in black, he resembled an imposing guardian at Mo Yu's side. Mo Yu nodded approvingly and dismissed him.

Watching Yan's retreating figure, Mo Yu pondered. It seemed that the Black Lotus Soul Thunder's control over him wasn't yet absolute due to its current level. But with time, this Thunder Soul would intensify its hold over Yan, making him a perfectly obedient servant with his own intelligence yet unwavering loyalty.

Mo Yu was confident; after all, he once used the Black Lotus Soul Thunder to secretly enslave the clan leaders of prominent families across the continent. A mere Dou Huang would be no exception.

With Yuan Manor newly rising in the Black-Corner Region and having recently bested the Di Yan Sect to establish itself as a top-tier force, Mo Yu knew that his success had also drawn the attention—and enmity—of other factions, including the Black Alliance led by Han Feng.

To secure his position, he kept Yan as a hidden ace, planning to deploy him at the right moment for an advantage in battle. Recalling his hidden cards, Mo Yu's gaze shifted, and he retrieved a towering, red mechanical puppet from his beast ring, placing it in the dim chamber.

This scarlet automaton was none other than the Fire Yao Puppet. After damaging its core mechanism using the Divine Thunder World-Destroying Eye, he'd kept the puppet rather than discard it, aware of its significant value. However, since the puppet's central mechanism was broken, it had become a heap of scrap metal.

Creating a new core mechanism was challenging for Mo Yu, even with his mastery in refining; mechanical techniques were not his specialty. Yet, as he sat cross-legged in the dim light, an idea surfaced in his mind. From his beast ring, he withdrew two frozen corpses, placing them heavily on the floor.

These corpses, unearthed from the Storm Wolf King's lair, belonged to two Dou Zong experts, one of fire and the other of water affinity. Though they were enemies in life, their conflicts were meaningless to Mo Yu now.

His gaze lingered on the fire-affinity Dou Zong corpse and then turned to the Fire Yao Puppet. Perhaps, instead of crafting a new core, he could use something else to replace it—a Dou Zong corpse.

Replacing the core with a Dou Zong expert's body would be an ideal solution. Although this method was wasteful, using a powerful corpse would provide a decent substitute for the puppet's core, enabling it to reach a lower Dou Zong level. Mo Yu's specialized death puppet technique would allow the puppet to wield close to the corpse's full power.

"Using one corpse as a substitute is acceptable; I'll reserve the other for crafting a Death Puppet or as a spare body for She Lao."

With renewed clarity, Mo Yu's palm flickered with fiery crimson thunder. A bolt shot forth, wrapping around the corpse. Since the Fire Yao Puppet was fire-based, the fire-element corpse was a perfect match.

Under the intense thunder, the corpse's icy shell melted, and the body was transformed, its skin becoming an eerie gray-white, limbs elongated like sharp blades. Satisfied, Mo Yu channeled crimson thunder around the Fire Yao Puppet, its unique materials and Fire Spark Stone gradually melting under the heat.

Mo Yu concentrated, multitasking as he controlled the thunder flame to temper the corpse at a constant temperature, while also using an extremely high temperature to refine the Fire Yao Puppet, ensuring that the two would seamlessly merge.

The dual refinement process required considerable time, especially in tempering the corpse to the necessary level so that it could perfectly integrate with the Fire Yao Puppet.

After an unknown amount of time—perhaps an hour, two hours, or even a full day—Mo Yu's closed eyes suddenly snapped open, a glimmer of joy flashing within them. The refinement process had achieved perfect compatibility.

Without hesitation, Mo Yu moved his palm, and the molten Fire Yao Puppet, resembling a red suit of armor, floated gently and slowly attached itself to the cold corpse.

Hiss! Hiss!

The high-temperature armor emitted bursts of white steam upon contact with the corpse, releasing a faint burnt odor.

Mo Yu's soul power rippled across the puppet's body, and as the Fire Yao Puppet adhered to the corpse, a red liquid began to seep out, slowly coating every part of the corpse.

In no time, a nauseating white mist rose continuously from the puppet's body, accompanied by a hissing sound from the intense heat meeting flesh—chillingly eerie.

When the liquid finally covered the corpse completely, the once distinguishable body of a fire-affinity Dou Zong was obscured, replaced by a brand-new Fire Yao Puppet. This reborn puppet emitted a dazzling, fiery-red glow, exuding an extraordinary aura of strength and durability.

Moments later, as the fusion completed, a faint flame burst forth from the puppet's core mechanism.

With the flame's flickering, the puppet's aura began to climb steadily, intensifying until it reached a peak. When it finally stabilized, its aura settled firmly at the level of a two-star Dou Zong.

"A two-star Dou Zong? Not bad at all," She Lao commented, appearing beside him and gazing at the fiery puppet with a flash of surprise in his eyes.

Shifting his gaze, She Lao looked at Mo Yu, a look of amazement crossing his face.

In just a few days, Mo Yu had brought him plenty of surprises. Not only had he summoned another Thunder Soul to enslave a Dou Huang, but he had also used the corpse of a peak Dou Zong, along with a discarded puppet mechanism, to craft a two-star Dou Zong puppet!

With the combined strength of a three-star Dou Huang and a two-star Dou Zong puppet, one could imagine the dramatic rise in strength the Yuan Manor had achieved.

"Heh, She Lao, you flatter me. It's only a two-star Dou Zong, after all. Using the corpse of a peak Dou Zong for this feels like a bit of a waste," Mo Yu said with a wry smile.

"Alright, don't act like you're being taken advantage of. A two-star Dou Zong is more than enough to help you establish yourself in the Black-Corner Region. Besides, you still have the corpse of a peak Dou Zong," She Lao responded, his gaze contemplative.

"Haha, that's true," Mo Yu laughed. He didn't actually feel much disappointment; he was merely expressing a slight complaint before quickly moving on.

Retrieving the crimson command token he had seized from Yan, which controlled the Fire Yao Puppet, Mo Yu issued a command.

"Follow me."

With that, Mo Yu and She Lao exited the chamber first, followed by the Fire Yao Puppet, whose heavy, mountain-like steps echoed behind them.

After about half a quarter-hour, they arrived at the rear mountains of the city. Gazing at the vast forest before him, Mo Yu issued another command.

"Throw a punch."

The moment the words left his lips, a crimson glow flickered in the Fire Yao Puppet's eyes. Its fist clenched tightly, and then it launched a powerful, direct punch forward.

Swoosh!

The punch tore through the air, causing the space before the puppet to distort. Centered on its fist, the air formed a concave arc.

At the forefront of the arc, a compressed air cannon, ten meters in diameter, shot forward, emitting a piercing screech and intense energy waves as it blasted downwards like a cannonball.

Boom!

The air cannon struck the forest below, and a deafening explosion resonated through the mountains, sending waves of soil and a massive ten-meter-high wave of earth crashing against the cliff, making the entire ground tremble.

Even the city center, several miles away, felt the faint tremor, causing people to look around in astonishment.

The sheer power of just one punch was utterly terrifying!

Looking at the devastation below, Mo Yu's brows lifted. That punch could undoubtedly heavily injure even a peak Dou Huang, and if the opponent were a bit unlucky, it could even mean instant death.

Mo Yu's mood lifted at the sight—his efforts in refining the Fire Yao Puppet had not been in vain.

Just then, a series of powerful and malicious auras appeared in the distance, causing Mo Yu to pause.

When his gaze fell upon the lead figure exuding a familiar strange fire, a glint of surprise flashed in Mo Yu's eyes before a trace of coldness surfaced. He muttered under his breath.

"So, it seems Han Feng finally can't resist making a move…"
