Chapter 676: Chapter 677: Xiao Xuan's Revival
Chapter 677: Xiao Xuan's Revival
Seeing Xiao Xuan's agreement, Xiao Ze summoned the Origin Emperor Flame into his palm and explained,
"Ancestor, this is my Origin Emperor Flame. It's said to surpass the top ranked Heavenly Flames, but it is unique to me. I will use it to attempt your revival. Please don't resist its power."
Xiao Xuan gazed at the golden flame in amazement. Though he had speculated about Xiao Ze's abilities, hearing the truth left him astounded. Capturing and wielding the top ranked flame was an unimaginable feat, even for someone of Xiao Ze's strength.
After a moment, Xiao Xuan nodded.
"Go ahead. Don't feel pressured. Even if it doesn't succeed, my life has already been rich and fulfilling."
Xiao Ze focused, urging the Origin Emperor Flame to envelop Xiao Xuan's energy form.
A surge of vibrant life force flowed into Xiao Xuan's fragmented soul, nourishing it. The warmth felt as if he were bathing in a soothing spring, drawing an involuntary sigh of comfort even from someone as composed as Xiao Xuan.
Regaining his composure, Xiao Xuan examined himself with shock. He could feel his soul slowly being restored to its complete state.
The Heavenly Tomb had sustained Xiao Xuan's existence, but it couldn't truly heal his fragmented soul. Yet, under the golden flames, his soul was becoming whole again.
"This… this is incredible!" Xiao Xuan exclaimed, joy lighting up his face. To him, this was already a success. As an Emperor class soul, returning to wholeness was akin to being reborn.
While he lacked a physical body, an Emperor class soul could operate nearly as well without one, only slightly weaker in power. At his peak, Xiao Xuan could rival a Nine Star Dou Saint. Without a body, he would fall short of the peak but remain formidable.
As the process completed, Xiao Ze clenched his fist, intensifying the flames. A surge of energy washed over Xiao Xuan, and his soul reached its full strength. The room filled with Emperor class soul energy, confirming his restoration.
"Ancestor, I'll craft a new body for you soon. Then your revival will be complete," Xiao Ze said.
Xiao Xuan laughed heartily.
"There's no rush. With my soul restored, I'm no longer bound to the Heavenly Tomb. I can come and go freely. A new body can wait."
Xiao Ze nodded with a smile.
"Then, Ancestor, please return with me to meet the current members of the Xiao Clan."
A flicker of hesitation crossed Xiao Xuan's face. Though eager, guilt weighed heavily after all, he was responsible for the Xiao Clan's decline.
Xiao Ze's calm and understanding gaze reassured him.
"Very well. I'd like to see what has become of the Xiao Clan."
Shortly after, Xiao Ze brought Xiao Xuan to the clan's current stronghold, reuniting him with the Xiao family. After introducing Xiao Xuan to the clan, Xiao Ze stayed briefly before quietly leaving.
Returning to the Alchemist Tower, Xiao Ze sensed a familiar presence. He appeared instantly in his elder's quarters, where he found a graceful figure in a green dress meticulously organizing his robes.
It was Qing Lin, who seemed completely absorbed in her task.
"Qing Lin, why are you here? Aren't you celebrating?" Xiao Ze asked softly.
Startled, Qing Lin turned, clutching her chest as she glared at him playfully.
"Young Master Xiao Ze, you scared me! I was just thinking that since you've ascended to Dou Emperor, you might move out of the Elder Tower. I wanted to organize your things in advance."
Xiao Ze laughed heartily and approached her.
"You're too thoughtful. If I didn't have you, who else would care for me like this?"
Qing Lin's expression shifted, and she took a step closer, her cheeks flushed.
"Then, Young Master, why don't you take me? I'll care for you forever."
Her boldness startled Xiao Ze, but he quickly regained his composure. He met her gaze seriously.
"Are you certain about this? I "
Before he could finish, Qing Lin placed a delicate finger on his lips.
"I don't want to hear any excuses, Young Master."
Her determined words left Xiao Ze momentarily speechless. He pulled her into his arms, their bodies drawing closer as golden light enveloped the room. The Origin Tree appeared, shrouding them in layers of protective brilliance.
Elsewhere, on a quiet mountain peak, Zi Yan sat idly, resting her chin on her hand. Her thoughts were tangled with frustration as she pondered her strained relationship with her father, Zhu Kun.
Hearing movement behind her, Zi Yan turned to see her father standing awkwardly nearby. Zhu Kun's face flushed as he fidgeted nervously under her gaze.
Her complex expression made his heart ache. He considered leaving but recalled Xiao Ze's advice and steeled himself.
"Zi Yan, can we talk?" he asked hesitantly.
Zi Yan hesitated before giving a small nod. Though reluctant, she didn't outright refuse.
Zhu Kun's spirits lifted slightly. Approaching her cautiously, he began with a heartfelt apology.
"Zi Yan, I'm sorry…"
The two talked for a long time. Zi Yan's emotions fluctuated, but eventually, she grew calmer. With tears glistening in her eyes, she reached out and took her father's hand.
"Father…" she said softly.
Zhu Kun's face broke into a wide smile, his joy uncontainable.
"My dear daughter! I've wronged you so much. Whatever you want, just ask, and I'll make it happen!"
