《Cash Rules Everything: My Infinite Wallet》

Chapter 16: Chapter 016: A Celebrity from a Past Life?

The next day.

At the train station.

The sky was clear, without a single cloud.

The warm sunlight fell on Lu Yuan, lifting his mood. Humming a tune, he walked toward the ticket machine, only to find a line of about ten people already waiting. At the end of the queue stood a short-haired girl in a cream-colored short down jacket. She wore black knee-high boots and a short black velvet skirt, with a stretch of flesh-colored tights hugging her slender legs between the two black sections, accentuating her graceful figure.

Her silhouette alone deserves a 90 out of 100. I wonder what her face looks like… If only she'd turn around.

Lu Yuan, appreciating beauty like anyone else, couldn't help but think as he stood behind her. Her earlobes, flushed slightly red from the cold, glowed faintly under the sunlight. But the girl seemed oblivious to his curiosity, focused on her phone until she finished retrieving her ticket. As she wheeled her large suitcase toward the station entrance, Lu Yuan finally caught a glimpse of her profile.

"Huh?"

When he saw her delicate features, he froze. Why does she look so familiar?

Before he could place her, the girl disappeared into the crowd. Shaking off his thoughts, Lu Yuan hurriedly grabbed his ticket and entered the station. Scanning the waiting area, he spotted her sitting on a bench, still engrossed in her phone. Seizing the chance, he sat down beside her.

The girl shifted slightly away without looking up, maintaining a cautious distance. Lu Yuan didn't take offense—he understood the wariness of traveling alone. Glancing at his Patek Philippe watch, he noted they still had over ten minutes before boarding. He pulled out his phone to kill time.

A few minutes later, the girl stood, likely worried about the impending rush, and headed for the boarding gate. On impulse, Lu Yuan followed. Halfway there, a loud clunk echoed as one of her suitcase wheels snapped off.

"Oh no!" she gasped, struggling to steady the toppled luggage.

"Need help?" Lu Yuan stepped forward.

She looked up, her eyes widening briefly at his striking features. When their gazes met, Lu Yuan blurted, "Brother Gou?"

The girl: (O_O)?

Realizing his mistake, Lu Yuan quickly apologized. "Sorry, wrong person!"

The girl—now revealed to resemble Earth's celebrity Cheng Guo (aka "Brother Gou")—merely smiled and inspected her broken suitcase. Sighing, she tried lifting it but faltered under its weight.

"Let me help," Lu Yuan offered, hoisting the suitcase effortlessly. "Boarding's chaotic anyway. Which car?"

"Car 15," she replied, cheeks pinkening.

"No way! Same here!" Lu Yuan grinned. "Seat 12."

Her eyes sparkled. "I'm Seat 11!"

They laughed at the coincidence. Settling into adjacent seats, she extended a hand. "I'm Chen Guo. Chen, with the ear-radical, not Cheng."

"Lu Yuan." He shook her hand, marveling at her uncanny resemblance to his past-life idol.

As the train rolled forward, their conversation flowed easily—hometown memories, college life in Beijing, and lighthearted banter.

At the next stop, Lu Yuan excused himself to the restroom. Returning, he found a middle-aged man in a faux-fur jacket occupying his seat, leaning toward Chen Guo with a smarmy grin.

"I'm really not interested in modeling," Chen Guo said tightly, spotting Lu Yuan. Her cheeks flushed as she improvised, "Honey, why'd you take so long?"

Lu Yuan's boot crunched down on the man's snakeskin loafer as he loomed over the seat. "Move."
