Chasing You Like a Tenacious Falcon

Chapter 130

After leaving the café, Quan Zhisui took a detour before getting into the Wei family's car.

In the backseat, Wei Shixu was resting with his eyes closed.

“Why did you come?” Quan Zhisui asked.

He had been in recovery these past few days, slowly regaining his energy. Forcing himself to detach and then reattach emotionally had taken a toll on his mental state.

Quan Zhisui guessed that he had often done this during those three years, exhausting himself severely.

So this time, his return hit him hard.

Quan Zhisui didn’t understand. Wasn’t it just about pursuing a girl and falling in love? Did it really require such extreme measures?

Was his obsession really that intense?

It was almost pathological!

Wei Shixu kept his eyes closed, took her hand, and leaned over, burying his head in her shoulder.

“I missed you,” he said softly.

Still with his eyes shut, he nuzzled against her neck.

“You smell so good,” he murmured.

Quan Zhisui: “I didn’t wear any perfume.”

Wei Shixu: “I know.”

Quan Zhisui: “I just worked up a sweat earlier.”

Wei Shixu: “But you still smell amazing.”

Quan Zhisui reached out and patted his head, her fingers threading through his soft, fluffy hair, her fingertips gently caressing.

Wei Shixu’s lips curved into a smile: “You must like me a little, right?”

Quan Zhisui: “No, I was just checking your Shen Ting acupoint.”

Wei Shixu chuckled softly: “So dangerous. I love it.”

The intense back-and-forth between the two made the driver in front break out in a cold sweat!

Truly, a madman paired with a madwoman—terrifying to the core!

The car slowly made its way back to the Wei Family Manor.

Wei Shixu led Quan Zhisui to his study and lay down on the sofa, closing his eyes again.

In the quiet study, only his heavy breathing could be heard.

Quan Zhisui observed his face—his sharp, delicate features, his fair, flawless skin. He was undeniably a beautiful young man.

So tender that it almost stirred a desire to ruin him.

After lying there for a while, Wei Shixu spoke: “School’s about to start. Yan Guanghua has planted some people among the freshmen. If you want to play along, we can’t get too close at school. It’s also what you wanted—you didn’t want to go public.”

Quan Zhisui: “In Liangxi Town, you’re actually letting him do this?”

Wei Shixu: “Actually, there were over a dozen at first. I screened them and pretended to miss two, letting them in. Isn’t this what you wanted? To mess with him?”

Quan Zhisui smiled faintly: “Yeah, I messed with him twenty years ago. Now it’s time to do it again.”

Wei Shixu: “How amusing.”

As he spoke, he sent her two files and then closed his eyes again.

“These are the two freshmen,” he said.

Quan Zhisui glanced at the files and suddenly raised an eyebrow: “Why is there someone with the surname Wei?”

Wei Shixu’s lips curled into a smirk: “Makes it even more interesting, doesn’t it?”

Quan Zhisui stood up, and before leaving the study, she turned back and said: “Practicing basic skills at sunrise will help you recover faster.”

Looking so drained all the time just kills my mood to mess with you.

But don’t worry, in senior year, there’ll be plenty of people to keep you busy.

August arrived, and senior year started early.

Quan Zhisui couldn’t wait to move back into the school dorm.

Wei Shixu followed suit, his energy finally restored, his eyes now sharp and lively.

Wei Jingsan was furious, smashing things at home and ranting about throwing Qian Cheng into the lake.

The senior year classrooms had been moved to the third floor, but the seating arrangements remained largely unchanged.

Quan Zhisui liked the corner seat in the last row, so she didn’t ask to move forward.

Wei Shixu didn’t come to the back to find her, quietly sitting in the first row instead, organizing her mistake notebook and then sending it to her via phone.

He had promised to help her overcome her difficulties and to help her get into a good university.

All of this came with one condition—dating him, albeit secretly.

Quan Zhisui accepted it all. Not taking advantage of it would be foolish.

The two began to develop a tacit understanding in their act.

Their performance was so convincing that many classmates thought the two powerhouses had fallen out again!

Kong Mingze and Zhuge Ying were in completely different states after entering senior year—one still slacking off, completely uninterested in studying, while the other was studying frantically to get into her dream university.

However, Zhuge Ying was still the student council president, so her entire senior year would be incredibly busy.

[Wei Shixu: Look how busy the class president is. Wasn’t it wise of me not to take on any student council roles? Otherwise, how would I have time to tutor you?]

He texted her again during break.

Quan Zhisui occasionally glanced at her phone, and when she saw his messages, she’d reply with a single period.

Most of the time, though, she didn’t bother, letting Wei Shixu send messages whenever he felt like it.

[Wei Shixu: Want chocolate cake for lunch? I’ll have someone buy it.]

[Wei Shixu: How about going to the back hill corridor after evening study? It’s been days since we held hands.]

[Wei Shixu: Your socks look great today. Your ankles would look even better exposed.]

[...]

Quan Zhisui suddenly regretted letting him recover so quickly. This guy had way too much energy.

Their relationship felt sneaky and almost non-existent.

Wei Shixu got nothing out of it except the ability to send flirty texts without getting scolded.

Sophomore year started, and the freshmen began enrolling.

The night before Zuo Zichen was due to report to school, Zuo Zhiyu called him into the study.

“Your sister…” Zuo Zhiyu started, then paused before continuing, “Once you’re at school, try to spend more time with your sister.”

Zuo Zichen nodded: “I’ve been keeping in touch with her.”

Zuo Zhiyu smiled approvingly: “Good. If your sister starts dating, let me know.”

Zuo Zichen suddenly felt nervous and forced an awkward smile: “That’s unlikely. She’s focused on studying. She wouldn’t date so early.”

Had his father noticed Wei Shixu getting close to Quan Zhisui?

The Wei family should have kept it under wraps.

Zuo Zhiyu: “I know that, but your sister is so beautiful and unique. She’s bound to have suitors!”

Zuo Zichen asked: “Are you trying to stop her from dating?”

“No, no,” Zuo Zhiyu quickly waved his hand. “Dating at this age isn’t a big deal. I just want you to observe and see which boys she gets along with at school.”

Zuo Zichen lied outright: “She gets along better with girls.”

Zuo Zhiyu frowned: “There’ll be many freshmen this year, some from good families and quite handsome. Keep an eye out.”

Zuo Zichen: “???”

Zuo Zhiyu: “Go on. Your sister isn’t that young anymore. For girls, going to university isn’t as important as marrying early.”

Zuo Zichen suddenly found his father terrifying!

He made some excuses and left the study, immediately informing Quan Zhisui about the conversation as soon as he returned to his room.

Even though he was slow and not the sharpest, Zuo Zichen could sense there was more to his father’s words.

Freshmen? Junior boys?

This was insane!

After reading Zuo Zichen’s message, Quan Zhisui found it amusing. Yan Guanghua had already made arrangements, yet Zuo Zhiyu felt the need to give Zuo Zichen additional instructions.

Now, not only did she know about those two, but she also had a heads-up on their tactics.

Coincidentally, Wei Shixu’s message came through, asking her to walk back to the dorm together after evening study.

After replying to Zuo Zichen, Quan Zhisui sent a quick ‘okay’ to Wei Shixu.

Falling head over heels in love and handing over an inheritance? Yan Guanghua and Zuo Zhiyu really had some imagination…

But Quan Zhisui had already been toughened up by Wei Shixu. Crying, throwing tantrums, threatening to jump off buildings—he had tried every trick in the book.

She doubted those guys could outdo Wei Shixu’s level of drama.
