Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Doctor Cutie
Seven Hills Hospital: 5:30 PM
"You guys wait in the car! We'll be back in a while," Rehansh said sternly, glancing at his friends.
"Rehan, won't you let us meet our sister-in-law?" Vansh asked, slightly agitated.
"Oh yeah, I will, but let me meet her first," Rehansh retorted firmly.
"Boss, at least let us hear her voice. We've come so far for this," Arav pleaded.
"Alright fine! Shivin will stay on call. You guys can hear her as much as you want!" Rehansh agreed, and both he and Shivin entered the hospital while connecting the call.
As they walked towards the lobby, they spotted Arya with an elderly woman in a wheelchair. Arya was laughing and talking cheerfully with the older woman. Rehansh couldn't take his eyes off her as she gently knelt before the older woman, slowly stretching her legs to help her exercise. The sight of her caring nature made his heart swell.
"Boss, you can never talk to her if you're only going to stare at her like a creep," an irritated Shivin nudged him. Seeing that Rehansh still didn't respond, Shivin shook his shoulder.
"What now!?" Rehansh snapped in irritation.
"Boss, we need to take an appointment to meet your sister-in-law," Shivin teased.
Reluctantly, Rehansh turned away from Arya and walked with Shivin toward the receptionist.
"Hello, sir! How may I help you?" the receptionist asked professionally.
"We'd like to meet the doctor," Shivin replied, as his boss was once again lost in his bhabhi's (sister-in-law's) sight.
"Name, please?" the receptionist asked.
"Uh... um... her... the one he's staring at," Shivin stammered, pointing toward Arya.
The receptionist frowned. "Her? But she's just a junior—"
Before the receptionist could complete his sentence, the hospital dean walked by and immediately recognized Rehansh.
"RRS? Sir, you're here! How can I assist you?" the dean asked politely, making Rehansh smirk.
"I want to meet her," Rehansh stated, pointing towards Arya.
"Sir, but interns are—"
"Just do as he says! Make any excuse and send her to meet him," the dean sternly instructed the receptionist, who immediately ran toward Arya. Meanwhile, the dean escorted Rehansh and Shivin to the VIP consulting room as per Rehansh's insistence.
A few minutes later, Arya walked in, smiling politely.
"Oh! Mr. Reha... right? Or was it Reza?" she asked sweetly.
"Um... it's Rehansh," he corrected, smiling nervously.
"Oh! My apologies! You were speaking gibberish that day, so that's all I could catch. And you are?" she turned to Shivin.
"I'm Shivin Mehra! Nice to meet you, Doctor...?" he trailed off.
"Oh! Sorry, I forgot. I'm Arya Trivedi!" she introduced herself warmly and took a seat. "The senior doctor is busy right now, so I came instead. By the way, where are the others?" she asked curiously.
"Others?" Shivin asked, confused.
"Yeah, the one who kept yelling, 'HEY! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BROTHER? I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU-'," Arya imitated Vansh in a dramatically deep voice, making Shivin and Arav (still on call) burst into laughter. Rehansh, meanwhile, was already a fan of her cute antics. Vansh, however, fumed on the other side of the call.
"You mean Vansh?" Rehansh chuckled.
"Yeah! The same guy who thought I did something to you," she said, rolling her eyes. "And the buffoon with him," she added playfully.
"Hey! Who are you calling a buffoon?" Arav complained on call, making everyone laugh harder.
"They're outside waiting for us," Rehansh answered, still laughing.
"Call them in! Otherwise, that guy will again start screaming 'What did you do to my brother?'" she mocked Vansh once more, making everyone laugh harder.
Agreeing, Rehansh called Vansh and Arav inside. Both entered, quietly greeting Arya.
"Hello, Doctor," they said.
"Hello! So, Mr. Shivin and Mr. Rehansh, what seems to be the problem?" Arya asked professionally.
"Nothing major, Arya. We just wanted to confirm if we had any internal injuries," Rehansh replied.
"Alright! So where have you guys been since the accident?" she asked casually.
"We went home, freshened up, ate, rested, and then came here," Shivin answered while Rehansh nodded.
"Okay! Can you describe how the accident happened?" Arya inquired.
"How are you so sure it was an accident?" Vansh asked skeptically.
"Uh... I was the first responder there, remember? Also, I saw your car swerving uncontrollably from a distance before it crashed into the tree. I realized the driver was probably unconscious, so I rushed to help. When I arrived, Shivin was passed out, and Rehansh was banging the window. Since the door wouldn't open, I broke the glass using a glass breaker from my car and gave first aid. Is that clear now, Mr...?" she trailed off.
"Vansh Raisinghania," he replied.
"Ah, got it!" Arya smiled. "Oh wait! Is there a chance you're—"
"Yes, I'm the same Raisinghania," Vansh interrupted smugly.
Arya rolled her eyes. "Oh! My best friend has a huge crush on you!"
Vansh smirked. "Is that friend by any chance you?" he asked playfully.
Arya laughed sarcastically. "Oh please! I don't fall for arrogant jerks," she shot back, making Vansh fume while the others laughed hard. Rehansh felt a surge of pride hearing her bold reply.
"Anyway, did either of you experience dizziness, nausea, or blurred vision?" she shifted back to her professional tone.
"No, Doctor," Shivin replied.
"That's good! I'll prescribe some painkillers and prepare for a scan just to confirm no internal injuries," she said and called another doctor for scans.
As they walked out after the scans, Vansh asked sarcastically, "So how's your sister-in-law?"
"She's amazing and definitely going to be my wife!" Rehansh declared confidently.
"Any particular reason for this big decision?" Shivin teased.
"Yes! She can handle arrogant jerks like Vansh perfectly, and that's exactly what I want in my wife," Rehansh grinned.
VR Mansion: Arav's Room - 6:30 PM
Arav walked into his room and overheard his wife Ishani on a call.
"Yes, handsome... Sure, baby... We'll meet tomorrow... Mwah!" she giggled.
Arav sighed and silently moved to freshen up. When he came out, Ishani turned cold.
"I need to go out tomorrow. Make any excuse and get permission from Rehan and Vansh. I don't want any problems!" she ordered.
"Where are you going, and with whom?" Arav asked softly.
"That's none of your business! Remember, you're just a servant in this house!" she snapped.
"But Ishani, think about the baby—"
"I said, just do as you're told!" she yelled, and Arav quietly left to seek permission.
Private Investigator's Office: 7:30 PM
A furious man slammed his fist on the investigator's desk.
"It's been a week, and you still haven't found her! What's the point of hiring you?" he roared.
"Sir, please be patient—"
"Patience!? I asked you to find a girl, not the moon!" the man fumed.
"Her identity has been hidden so well that we can't trace her public appearances—"
"I don't care about your excuses! I need results!" the man snapped.
The woman beside him tried to calm him. "We should give him a little more time."
"I don't have time!" he barked.
The investigator hesitated. "Sir, I'll find her. I promise."
"You better. Or you'll regret it," the man threatened before storming out with the woman.
