Chapter 259: God Lends a Hand?_3
Xue Lina was very special in the Ace Squad.
On one hand, she was originally a civilian employee, but through hard work and determination, she broke through the selection process and joined this wolf-like team as a civilian and woman.
Secondly, it was because of Xue Lina's family background.
Ace Squad handled various dangerous tasks, facing either ruthless desperados or major figures in various evil forces.
The children of major families in the Imperial Capital had long been warned that no matter how much they wanted to prove themselves, they couldn't join this team.
Even though the Ace Squad was called Ace, it was indeed built upon lives.
Xue Lina, however, did not heed the warnings and directly joined the squad.
If something happened to Xue Lina, Zhou Changjin didn't dare to imagine how much punishment he would face!
"Captain Zhou, I'm fine, you can come over now."
A voice sounded, it was Xue Lina's voice.
Zhou Changjin was startled, and with a heart full of surprise, rushed forward, only to see Xue Lina standing alone outside the dense forest. Beside her, one person was dead, another was kneeling, and a third was lying on the edge of the forest, life or death unknown.
There wasn't a single wound on Xue Lina's body.
Xue Lina threw the gun and dagger on the ground, shaking her left hand that was a bit tired from holding them up.
"Control these people, the situation was critical just now, I don't know if this guy is dead or not."
Zhou Changjin listened to Xue Lina and looked at the two criminals on the ground.
One had wet his pants from fear, the other had a bloody mess on his chest.
"Xue Lina, who is the boss of this squad?"
Zhou Changjin asked.
Xue Lina pointed towards the direction of the dense forest.
Zhou Changjin followed her gaze and his face suddenly changed.
The captain had a bullet hole in his leg, a type of hole Zhou Changjin was very familiar with, having seen them every day.
What concerned him was that next to the bullet hole on the captain's leg, there was also a charred mark, as if struck by a strong electric current.
"Xue Lina, did you bring a laser gun?"
"Isn't that thing not developed yet?"
Zhou Changjin asked instinctively.
Xue Lina waved her hand and said helplessly:
"I've never heard of a laser gun, does that thing exist?"
Zhou Changjin pointed with his hand and exclaimed in shock:
"You didn't bring a laser gun, then what's that laser mark on his leg?"
Hearing this, Xue Lina looked up towards the sky.
The sky was overcast with heavy clouds, and amidst the dark clouds, there seemed to be a pair of eyes hidden.
Xue Lina slowly shook her head and said with a complicated expression:
"Don't ask me, I almost died just now, but it seemed like heaven was helping me. A thunderclap struck nearby, scaring these three people, allowing me to turn the situation around."
Xue Lina pointed to the lightning strike mark on the ground.
The lightning mark was easy to recognize.
The lightning fell from the heavens, hitting the ground and creating an explosion-like spread mark.
The land was charred, leaving a dry, blackened mark on the moist surface layer.
Zhou Changjin was incredibly shocked, thinking that Xue Lina had been drugged.
He wanted to reach out and touch Xue Lina's forehead but instead pressed down on her shoulder forcefully.
"Don't think I'm talking nonsense, see for yourself if you don't believe me."
Xue Lina said irritably.
Zhou Changjin laid on the ground, unmindful of the wet soil after the rain dirtying his body, and sniffed around the lightning mark.
The smell of charred earth permeated the surroundings.
Zhou Changjin lifted his head, staring blankly at Xue Lina with a hint of astonishment in his eyes.
"It really is a lightning strike..."
He couldn't help but look towards the squad leader next to the dense forest again.
Could it really be that heaven was helping Xue Lina?
