Chapter 78: Kayden - Part 2

Kayden Osawa, at just five years old, moved the final piece on the chessboard and, with a calm smile, uttered the words that sealed his opponent's fate:

"Checkmate."

In front of him, an experienced professional chess player remained motionless, unable to process how that child had defeated him without the slightest effort.

Three years had passed since the death of his mother, Elisa. Although many would think that such a young child could barely remember her, Kayden retained every single memory with overwhelming clarity, as if he were reliving them at that very moment.

His perfect memory granted him the gift and the curse of never forgetting anything, especially the warm embrace of his mother or the melodious voice that accompanied him before sleep.

...

His existence, from the beginning, had been an inexplicable phenomenon. Elisa, his mother, had been a brilliant woman with a passion for knowledge. She knew her son was special from the very moment she held him in her arms for the first time.

Her last wish was clear: to squeeze every bit of potential from Kayden, to make the most of how extraordinary he was, since he always enjoyed the challenges imposed on him, facing them with a smile as if the entire world were a board where he controlled every move.

For her husband, those words were not just a wish but a life mission. Devastated by the loss of the love of his life, he found solace only in Kayden's existence—the last legacy of Elisa, the living proof of their love.

With a mixture of pain and determination, he contacted his closest colleagues and the best professionals in the scientific and educational industries to develop an intensive program that could push his son's abilities to the limit.

Kayden's birth had been, in itself, a miracle that defied every medical probability. From the start, doctors warned that survival chances were almost nonexistent, but against all odds, the child not only was born healthy but also brought with him a genetic complexity never seen before.

His DNA was riddled with mutations that, theoretically, should have caused countless complications, but for some unknown reason, they aligned perfectly, granting him superhuman abilities without any adverse effects.

The mutations in his DNA were worthy of an evolutionary prodigy:

MYOSTATIN gene mutation: Causing natural muscle hypertrophy, giving him superior physical strength and defined muscles from an early age.

ACTN3 gene mutation: Increasing strength in fast muscle fibers, improving athletic performance.

FGFR3 gene mutation: Enhancing bone density, reducing the risk of fractures, and giving him a resilient body structure

ASPM gene variations: Associated with a larger brain size and extraordinary cognitive abilities

BDNF gene variations: Enhancing memory and facilitating accelerated learning, allowing him to remember absolutely everything with terrifying precision.

COMT gene variations: Optimizing decision-making under pressure, making his mind function like an infallible machine.

It was impossible to believe that a human being could possess so many positive mutations simultaneously, much less that none of them would prove counterproductive. Scientists were baffled, and his existence defied all known medical and genetic logic.

However, to his father, Kayden was not just a scientific miracle but his son—the last connection to Elisa and the reason he got up every morning.

Aware of his son's unique nature, he dedicated his life to understanding him, pushing his physical and intellectual limits. Yet soon he faced an overwhelming truth: Kayden had no limits.

No matter what physical or mental task was assigned, the boy completed it with almost insulting ease. Whether it was advanced math problems, complex theories, or physical competitions, Kayden always exceeded expectations, as if the concept of difficulty didn't exist in his vocabulary.

His analytical and perfectionist mind constantly led him to seek new challenges, and his father couldn't help but feel small in the face of his own son's greatness.

Even so, he worked day and night, immersed in research that could be, even just a little, on par with that overwhelming existence.

Because deep down, his greatest desire was not just for Kayden to reach the top but for his own effort to serve as a humble support in the story of that prodigious and unrepeatable existence.
