Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 9 The Darkness of Human Nature (Part 1)_2

"Benefit?" Osullivan struggled fiercely, pointing in Bonnie's direction and shouting, "She's there. Take me over, and I'll hand her to you!" He glanced at the distance, anxiously saying, "Hurry up, or Reinhardt will be here soon!"

[Logic] sprinted, Fatty looked at Osullivan, who was shivering in the cold wind as the Mecha ran, yet extremely excited, and felt an indescribable taste in his heart.

Like swallowing a fly!

He knew that the reason Osullivan was acting this way was all because of the word "benefit" he had given him!

Fatty's grasp of human nature and psychology had reached an almost perfect level. When people are in despair, the resentment in their hearts is like an eruption of floodwaters, always seeking a breakthrough to pour out. Osullivan was no exception, furious and sorrowful for his life-or-death struggles, ending in such a result. In the face of death, Reinhardt's long-standing power couldn't suppress this resentment.

Osullivan hated Reinhardt, hated Bonnie, sorrowful that these two were always so high above, he loathed Reinhardt's assignment, he almost hated everyone in the world. Yet, he had never considered that today's failure was predominantly due to himself.

If he had been more cautious, ordering the rear troops to protect the back of the First Battalion and Second Battalion as usual when they prepared to attack the Freedom Front High Ground, if during the attack he had sent more Reconnaissance Mecha around instead of being so careless, if he had decisively retreated upon realizing the defect of [Vajra] when the First Battalion and Second Battalion suffered deadly blows, none of this would have happened.

Osullivan hadn't thought of all this. When he issued the final assault order, he was already gripped by feelings of hatred. He wanted the entire Mechanical Armor Group to die with him!

In his despair, there was nothing to be happy about. However, as the scene of the sleazy Fatty pressing on the goddess-like Bonnie with Reinhardt fuming with rage flashed through his mind, that exhilarating image made him burst out laughing!

It was the laugh of a pitiful, hateful, and tragic person. When he saw the enemies suffering more than his own misery, he would forget all the misfortunes he endured and be overjoyed.

People like this, from ancient times to the present, were never rare. Fatty understood this type of psychology very well. With just two words, he successfully guided Osullivan to hand over Bonnie. Yet, seeing the confused look of the little kid, he continued to feel disgusted.

Artificial Intelligence, no matter how smart, ultimately could not comprehend the true darkness of the human heart.

After clearing the battlefield, the bandit army began retreating in an orderly fashion.

Over two thousand Mecha divided into two groups, led by Rashid and Stewart, sneaked into the northwest's rugged mountains, moving towards Fatty's set destination.

Fatty would catch up after finding Bonnie.

Upon reaching Bonnie's location, things proceeded more smoothly than imagined. As the sneaking [Logic] took a large detour and suddenly appeared at the hilltop, the already aware [Vajra] under Osullivan's command immediately disengaged from combat without hesitation.

Bonnie was sitting on the ground, with her straight, white calf exposed slightly, together, making her beautiful hips on the grass appear exceptionally soft and plump. When the battered [Magic Beast] appeared on the hill, she nervously withdrew her chin from her knees and buried her face in her legs. Fatty clearly saw a flush of pink on her ear tips and neck.

Fatty was slightly panicked too. This annoying woman would rather see Bonnie wield a knife upon meeting him. If she did, he could justifiably flee. But now, the situation was as awkward as he had imagined.

The hilltop fell into silence. The opened cockpit of [Vajra] stood silently, the Mecha warriors inside running down the hill like pardoned prisoners, while Bonnie remained seated without raising her head. Beside [Logic], Osullivan stared at Bonnie with an expression of malicious revenge.

"Where are you planning to go?" Fatty finally broke the silence.

Bonnie tilted her face, turned to one side, and remained silent.

Fatty's face twitched, he opened his mouth and found his voice hoarse, he cleared his throat and said, "Ahem, I mean, um..." Glancing at the little kid's mocking face, Fatty angrily tore off his earpiece, shouting to the little kid, "Damn it, laugh, if you have guts come here and do it!"

Fatty had just finished speaking when he heard the little kid rude enough to use his voice and said, "Damn it, I mean dear, are you coming with me or going by yourself?"

"Dear?!"

The three people present were all stunned.

Bonnie was both angry and ashamed. She and this man were enemies who had fought to the death more than two months ago. Before that, she was the most beautiful woman in Gazalin, the brightest star, lofty and untouched.

But in the past two months, all of this had been thoroughly changed.

Bonnie hated this damn Fatty with his irritating laugh and cry. She had been captured by him, and her virginity was taken by him. But whenever she recalls that battle against a thousand, the swift jump off the cliff, his wide and safe back, and that shameful yet passionate madness, Bonnie felt her face burning, and that was definitely not hatred!

Towards this damn Fatty, Bonnie admitted her feelings were a mess at this moment. However, she never imagined that this shameless guy would actually call her 'dear'.

Fatty, at this moment, was grinding his teeth and regretting deeply. He wanted to smack the foolish little kid in front of him. What's called a mistake becoming a lasting regret, this was exactly it!

The most dramatic expression was Osullivan's. He realized that he had once again fallen into this damn Fatty's trap. Just now, in three to four sentences, he unknowingly and unconsciously had been led right in.

A word of benefit and appropriated malice all matched his mindset at that time, causing him to hand her over in his ruthless and revengeful psychology! In anger, Osullivan's thoughts became increasingly frightening. What kind of monster was this Fatty who had once wagged his tail and fawned in front of him?

The hilltop fell into dead silence again.

In the distance, the Mecha of Mythical Reinforcement started to appear on the edge of the battlefield, cautiously advancing, their searchlights sweeping everywhere, closing in.

Bonnie looked over there, bit her lip, and finally said, "I'll go with you!" She stood up and walked towards [Vajra]. Before climbing into the cockpit, she couldn't help but cast a hardened glance at Fatty. Though her expression was cold, paired with her blushing cheeks, the glance inevitably carried a hint of charm.

Fatty's heart pounded, lost in a daze, suddenly a familiar yet alarming voice came.

"Bonnie, come here!"
