Court Magician’s Lewd Pranks on the Elf Princess

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The start of class

The ceremony ended without incident, and Keith, now officially the royal court magician, was immediately called by Mashua and presented to him.

On the throne sat a beautiful elf wearing a crown modeled after a vine.

He appeared to be in his late 20s, but apparently, he was already over 300 years old.

"Keith. I expect you to continue to serve our country and its people well."

A voice echoed in the distance, solemn like the roar of the ocean on a moonlit night, and all Keith could do was sigh and hide his face.

Mashua continued to speak to Keith,

"By the way, I've just arrived, but I have one request..."

"Anything I can do."

"Um, bring Nia here."

Mashua called out, and an elf appeared from the back.

She was a woman, with a face that still retained the youthfulness of a young girl.

She was dressed in a pure white dress, and her face bore a strong resemblance to Queen Mia, who was sitting next to Mashua.

She had long platinum hair, and her slender limbs made her slightly heaving chest stand out.

"Father."

The girl who came up to her father's side and said that—Nia—looked at Keith with a smile.

"That's my daughter, Nia. She was at the appointment ceremony."

Keith hadn't noticed that.

"Yes, I'll never forget that beautiful sight."

Nia looked embarrassed and lowered her face at Keith's words.

"The thing I'm asking you about is this child..."

"The Princess..."

"Hmm..."

Saying that, Mashua looked at Nia carefully before continuing.

"As you probably know, we elves are skilled in magical arts. We pride ourselves on being superior to other races when it comes to spirit magic in particular."

"Yes."

"However... it seems that my daughter, Nia... has no talent for magic..."

Mashua said this and looked at his daughter.

Keith couldn't fathom how embarrassing it must be for an elf to be bad at using magic.

However, when he saw Nia looking down and fidgeting with her hands, he could tell that she was.

"Well, if you'd like, I'd like you to be the magic teacher of Nia."

Now it all made sense to Keith.

That's the intention behind why he was hired.

To an elf, using magic is as natural as a bird flying in the sky or a fish swimming in the water.

That's probably why they have difficulty teaching others.

Therefore, if one needs to "study" and memorize magic, they must rely on humans to teach them.

At that time, Keith happened to be in the right place...

Of course, this was just Keith's imagination, but once he believed it, he could only feel self-deprecating.

"I wonder? Would that be okay?"

"Eh? Ah, of course. I will do my best."

"Really?!"

When Keith spoke, the first voice to come back was Nia's.

Keith looked up to see Nia running up to him from beside her father.

Nia crouched down and took Keith's hand.

"Thank goodness! I was worried about what I would do if you refused! I'm so glad. I'm glad I asked Father!"

"Ha, ha."

"Will I be able to use magic? What do you think, Mage?"

Nia asked innocently, but Keith's heart sank.

(Ah, I'm just this child's toy...)

That was the only thought that came to mind.

"This, Nia! That's indecent."

"...sorry"

"Hahaha, what a helpless child."

This cheerful scene only made Keith's heart grow even more dejected.

§§§

Nia's magical training began the next day.

I was escorted by a knight from my room in the palace to Nia's room.

When I was shown into her room, Nia, who was having her hair combed by a maid, spotted Keith and ran over happily.

"Mage! We've been waiting for you!"

Nia held his hand with a sunflower-like smile on her face, but...

"You rude person!!"

The voice said that and made Keith flinch.

Those were not the Nia's words.

"It is disgusting for a sorcerer like you to teach Lady Nia's hands."

No, it was this girl who grabbed it...

Thinking that, Keith turned toward the voice and saw a brown-skinned elf standing there.

(Desert elves?)

A clan of elves living in the eastern desert region.

Characterized by brown skin and silver hair, and because they have their own unique form of religion, they were once called Dark Elves and persecuted, but this is no longer the case these days.

But it's quite rare to find them in this region.

"Aisha..."

Nia said "Uhh" to the Desert Elf, Aisha,

"That's rude of you to say! Apologize to the mage!"

Aisha seemed troubled by her words.

"But..."

"Apologize!"

Aisha looked at Keith with eyes that were clearly unapologetic.

"Sorry."

Is she apologizing?

Keith couldn't help but think that way. However, there was no point in worrying about such things in this country, so

"No, don't worry about it."

"...Are you offended?"

"Not at all."

"Thank goodness!"

Seeing Nia's condition, Aisha continued glaring at Keith with a sour look on her face.

"That's right. We haven't introduced ourselves yet. Sorcerer-sama, this is my escort knight, Aisha. Aisha, this is the Sorcerer, Keith-sama."

When Keith was introduced, he bowed and said "Thank you," but Aisha only replied with "Hmmm!"

Keith didn't know her actual age, but he felt a little annoyed when she looked like a young girl.

"Aisha again!"

The story wasn't progressing, and to be honest, Keith just wanted to finish it quickly.

"That's fine. Let's get started sooner."

"Y-Yes!"

Nia was nervous and exhaled through her nose, "Funsu!" as she pumped herself up.

While Keith was opening up some simple grimoires and other things, the maid excused herself and left the room, but Aisha remained behind.

"... Because Aisha-sama is still here?"

"Of course! There's no telling what kind of disrespect you might show Lady Nia!!"

To be honest, it was a hassle.

When teaching something, there will be times when you will have to scold and even behave a little rudely; that is what it means to teach and what it means to learn.

It would be unbearable to have someone watch over you and complain about every single thing you do.

"What, are you complaining?"

"No... I'm not really complaining..."

Keith thought about it a lot, but he felt like if he was being considerate to the knight, something inside of him would be worn down, so he decided to stop being so considerate.

However, this only applied to Aisha.

"Would you please leave? You're bothering me."

"Wha?! What did you say?!"

"It's distracting. I can't teach well."

"Y-you bastard!!"

Aisha put her hand on the rapier at her waist.

However, to Keith, who had been chased by 10 indestructible Knights Templar with claymores and halberds yelling, "We'll kill you, heretics!", a single little girl was nothing to him.

"You can cut him down, but you have to teach the princess magic."

"You!"

"Stop it!!"

Aisha stopped moving after hearing Nia's words.

"Y-You, Lady Nia."

"It's as the magician says. Aisha, please leave."

"But!"

"Get out!"

It was like a dog.

In fact, Aisha looked back at Nia several times like an abandoned puppy, then left the room with a faint "Excuse me."

Taking a deep breath,

"Well then, shall we get started?"

Saying that, Keith began to pretend to be a tutor.

§§§

From what Keith learned, Nia didn't even have a rudimentary knowledge of magic.

Is it because they perceive it intuitively?

Keith didn't know if all elves were like this, but it was annoying.

Keith, in his own way, was a former chief priest.

Academically speaking, he was equivalent to being a university student.

This was like giving a math lesson to kindergarteners, and Keith honestly had no idea where to start.

Nia, perhaps sensing Keith's troubled expression,

"I guess... I can't do it after all..."

The disappointment was so great because of her high expectations, and she was extremely depressed,

"No, well..."

Keith thought desperately.

Then he remembered the results of an experiment conducted by some magical society where they had taught stupid monkeys magic through repetitive learning.

Even monkeys could do it. Why couldn't elves do it?

Anyway, he decided to be thorough and polite from the very beginning. This was the basis.

"It's okay. Let's take it slow."

That's right, let's take it slowly.

After all, the opponent was an elf. Their lifespan was worth selling.

And the longer it took, the longer Keith would be able to work at the royal court, so it was a win-win situation.

Thinking that, Keith smiled,

"...I'm glad that you're a kind person, Mage-sama."

Keith was a little startled when she smiled at him from close range.

As if to deceive himself,

"Well, for now, let's just try using magical power to make things float. I'll assist you, so anyone can do this as long as they have magical power."

"Y-Yes!"

Keith placed a piece of paper cut into the shape of a butterfly in Nia's hand and then placed his own hand underneath.

He slowly drew out her magical powers and tried to make her float.

In this way, he tried to gradually train his body to draw out magical power, but

"..."

It didn't come to mind.

Not even a movement.

"..."

That was so stupid.

It may be one thing for an ordinary person, but there's no way an elf wouldn't be able to survive if they did it.

They are fairies after all. They are walking bundles of magic.

That's strange... As he thought this, Nia's eyes finally filled with tears, as she realized that she couldn't do it even though she'd been told that anyone could do it.

"Y-yes, I guess I'm not good at magic... phew."

"Please don't cry!"

Keith had no idea how to treat a crying girl, so he stood up and stared at Nia, trying to find the cause.

No matter how you look at it, she's an elf.

A perfect elf. Not a human cosplay.

He wondered,

"Excuse me, but may I touch your head?"

"Uh... yes. Sniff... that's fine."

He took permission and placed his hand on the top of her head.

Keith closed his eyes and began the X-ray of her body, a kind of magical CT scan.

However, what he was looking at was not the internal organs, but the layout and flow of the magical pathways within the body.

"Ah..."

I finally found the cause.

§§§

"An abnormal formation of the magical path...?"

Keith nodded yes.

"That is... what on earth?"

"All living things have pathways that allow magical power to circulate within their bodies. When magical power flows and is refined through these pathways, it becomes possible to use magic, but... the princess's body does not have these pathways properly formed."

"Th...that's not possible."

"This is something you was born with, and it doesn't affect her normal life. However, when it comes to using magic or sorcery..."

"So then... does that mean I will never be able to use magic?"

Nia was suddenly confronted with this reality, and in her despair, her white skin turned even whiter.

However, Keith said to her,

"No, it's okay."

He answered nonchalantly.

"Really?"

"If it's made abnormally, then we just fix it properly."

"Is it possible to do something like that?"

"Yes, actually I'm a specialist in that kind of thing."

In fact, Keith specialized in amplifying magical power within the body and applying it to psychic healing.

He was said to be the worst in offensive magic ever, but when it came to using small spells, no one could match him.

This is none other than the man known as "Little Keith."

"I... I... I am... so blessed... to have met someone like you, Mage-sama..."

If you're truly blessed, you wouldn't be born an elf and have to deal with the abnormal formation of your magical pathways.

Even though Keith thought that, he didn't say it out loud.

"Treat that right away!"

"No, we have to make preparations, and it will take time, so we'll do it tomorrow."

"Y-Yes."

"Well then, that's all for today..."

As Keith packed his things and headed out of the room, someone came from behind him.

"Mage!"

"Yes?"

"Um... is it okay if I call you Keith-sama?"

"Eh?... Yes. I don't mind..."

Nia smiled broadly at Keith's words.

"Well then, Keith-sama, see you tomorrow!"

As Keith walked out of the room watching her, Aisha appeared from behind a pillar.

"Whoa!!"

Shocked, Keith stopped, and Aisha looked at him with a death gaze.

"Don't get too cocky, you human being..."

"Hmm..."

"Try taking advantage of Lady Nia's kindness and doing something naughty... I'll skin you alive and make a rug for you."

As Keith watched Aisha walk towards Nia's room,

With goosebumps all over his body, he hurried back to his room.

In his room, Lou was curled up in bed, with his fur shiny for some reason.

"...Oh, welcome back, master."

"...Nice fur, bad cat."

"Since then, the maid has been brushing my hair all this time... it's heaven here."

"You're a familiar grooming yourself while your master is facing the prospect of having his skin peeled off... hahaha, I'll turn you into a stringed instrument one day."

With that firm resolve on his lips, Keith lay down on the bed.
