Chapter 302: Bawanzi: Fish, All of You Are Fish!
Lightning flashed, and the thunderous roars shook the entire prison island.
In an instant, all of Artoria and Bawanzi's attacks toward Fae Knight Lancelot were shattered. The lightning in the air suddenly leaped, piercing through the ceiling, and in the next moment, it fell again, directly aiming for the fae knight Bagster, who was protecting Guinevere.
The thunder crashed loudly, shattering the entire top of the prison tower, and the ground of the seventh floor was also destroyed by the roaring lightning. The group fell from above and landed on the sixth floor, while Bagster, struck by the thunder, was sent crashing through all the floors and finally fell to the prison tower's bottom level.
"Cough, cough—"
Amidst the dust and smoke, Bagster pushed away the large stone blocks falling from above and looked down at her chest, her expression slightly grim.
At this moment, her armor, which had been covered all over her body, was now scorched black in several areas due to the lightning, and large portions had been melted, exposing the area beneath, which had been pierced and burned by the lightning.
With just one strike, the armor, which she had purchased with a large sum from the best fae blacksmith in Britain, was pierced, and she herself had suffered serious injuries.
—No, or rather, if she hadn't activated the secondary skill from the "Garen" character template she obtained, this one blow would have been enough to severely injure her.
Skill: Courage - A
"With fearless courage, face all attacks directed at you, and your body will become indestructible. For every enemy you kill, your defense and magic resistance will increase. When you actively use this skill, you gain a brief defensive shield that reduces the damage you will take. This shield is strongest immediately after activation."
"A generation's version is a generation's god, every generation of Garen's model is great" — A saying that has been passed down in the League of Legends universe.
Although this character template had two other powerful skills besides "Charge Forward" and "Courage"… were they useful? "Judgment's" spin could never touch the enemy, and the ultimate skill, "Demacia Justice," needed the enemy's health to be reduced to 30-40% to deliver a decisive blow... but before that?
With Lancelot's speed as fast as lightning, how could she ever reduce her health to that state in the first place?
While barely withstanding Lancelot's rapid and furious attacks, Bagster continued to ponder in her mind.
The silence effect of "Charge Forward" no longer mattered. After obtaining her new weapon, Lancelot's strength and agility had both increased, and in terms of strength alone, it had probably gone up more than one level... even now, Bagster found it difficult to face her head-on without considerable effort.
—Not to mention the violent thunder that accompanied every strike.
After taking another flash strike from Fae Knight Lancelot, Bagster staggered back two steps, her arms numb.
—This is a disaster. With this woman's strength, she could gain high ratings from the simulation just by doing anything, since everything she did had a massive impact on history and the future. Since the final rewards in the simulation were often linked to the rating, she always obtained impressive new rewards.
Take, for example, the simulation where she participated in the reign of the Blood King. She didn't do much in that simulation, but by joining the Blood King's ranks and later participating in suppressing rebellions and conquering cities, her strength as a warrior in Britain grew, and after surviving for an extended period, she accumulated a good rating and earned the Garen hero template, which improved her own power considerably.
But after the fourth simulation, she had been knocked out and locked up here, so she only earned a high rating that one time, and the subsequent simulations were almost completely transparent.
But what about Lancelot? By now, having participated in dozens of simulations, how many rewards has she obtained?
Like a snowball, every time she participated in a simulation, she became stronger, and now, that snowball had grown large enough to crush everyone else.
Had Lancelot really put all her cards on the table now?
Bagster didn't know, nor dared to think.
At this point, it seemed like the only thing she could be thankful for was that, after obtaining this weapon, Lancelot seemed to have become exceptionally aggressive. Her intelligence seemed to have slightly decreased, as she had simply sought out the strongest opponent, herself, for a battle, instead of using her incredible speed to instantly finish off the already weakened Guinevere.
So, she couldn't fall. Not even for the light that glowed within her heart. She couldn't fall here.
But how... how could she defeat Lancelot?
Amidst the violent lightning, the more Bagster fought, the heavier her heart felt.
At that moment, a torrent of blood suddenly poured down from above, surrounding Bagster on all sides. She was startled and instinctively thought it was Lancelot's new move, but when she looked closely, she realized that the blood tide, instead of targeting her, slammed Lancelot, pressing her to the ground.
Looking up reflexively, she saw Bawanxi floating in the air above her, standing on a small pool of blood, with a blood-red orb floating above her head.
Above her, crimson blood hung in the air like dark clouds, shrouding the entire prison island.
"Big ape! Get out of the way if you don't want to be affected!"
Bawanzi shouted, then pressed one hand down. Instantly, vast amounts of blood surged from the blood in the sky and cascaded down, washing over Lancelot, momentarily suppressing her.
Normally, Bawanxi wouldn't be able to do this. Although her custom magical artifact "Viewing Sphere" created by Artoria contained a large amount of blood, it was only enough for a small swimming pool. Even with the ongoing battles in Prison City — between the guards, beasts, and escaping prisoners — the fighting had provided a massive amount of blood.
However, even with all of that, it still wouldn't be enough to pose a threat to Lancelot.
But just at that moment, Guinevere suddenly spoke up:
"By the way, Bawanzi, can you only control pure blood, or can you also manipulate blood with a higher water content? I remember that, generally, blood is about 85% water... could you increase the water content a bit?"
He asked this because he recalled the dreamlike Bawanzi from the London anomaly simulation, where she had stood on a lake and manipulated the blood-tainted water, even when he and Little Mo fought fiercely, they still lost ground.
He remembered that the lakewater, although not entirely crimson, was clearly just water mixed with blood... If she could control that, then maybe she could control a higher ratio of water in the blood?
After hearing his suggestion, Bawanzi attempted to remotely manipulate the blood at the prison island's edge, channeling it into the surrounding lakewater.
Had it been the old her, she would have never been able to manipulate blood so precisely at such a distance... But after the buff from Guinevere's "Encouraged" skill and her own efforts to enhance her magic power and the Demon of Blood's Noble Phantasm, her abilities had undergone a qualitative change.
By now, the only thing limiting her combat ability was the amount of blood available.
Now, that problem was solved.
Bawanzi discovered that by adding just a single drop of blood into the lake, she could manipulate nearly a hundred times the volume of lakewater. And beyond that, she could still control even more, although it would require more effort.
In other words, if she wanted to, she could pour all the blood in her Viewing Sphere and from the prison island into the lake and use it as a weapon.
Her blood manipulation ability was essentially water manipulation now. If there was a flaw, it was that she couldn't solidify the blood for combat... But she could practically throw a whole reservoir of water at people, who needs solid blood?
Now that she controlled the lakewater, it was not just about the weight of the water pressing down. Every drop of lakewater she manipulated was infused with her own magic, amplifying the power based on the blood content, making her attacks far more powerful.
At this point, even just spraying the tide was comparable to a typical Servant-class Noble Phantasm in terms of power.
"Ha ha ha ha—Wonderful! So great!"
As she controlled the vast tide, which was now like a curtain of water falling from the sky to crush Lancelot, Bawanzi laughed joyously:
"With all this lakewater to control! I'm invincible! Lancelot, you're just a fish!"
But, despite Bawanxi's triumphant words, Guinevere didn't feel any happiness.
At this moment, both he and Artoria were floating in the air, or more accurately, standing on a small blood-water platform created by Bawanxi, using magic to stand as if walking on water.
This is why Bawanzi could freely destroy buildings.
Looking down at the prison tower, now crushed by the tidal wave, Guinevere immediately leaned in toward Artoria and said seriously:
"Artoria, do you have any magical items or tricks up your sleeve to turn the tide? You need to bring them out now! If we don't, we won't get another chance!"
"Huh?" Artoria blinked in confusion. "But aren't we in an advantageous position right now?"
"How can that be? Look at how smug Bawanxi looks. Don't you feel like she's about to have a major setback any second now?" Guinevere responded.
And not to mention the additional effects of Thunderclaw Celestial Slash on Lancelot, even if we only consider Lancelot's original strength, Bawanzi's chances of winning in a one-on-one against her were slim, at best. She could only hope to be on equal footing, a "Fairy Knight" worthy opponent, but still on the same level as two other monsters.
Sure enough, just after Guinevere spoke, a brilliant golden bolt of lightning suddenly shot up from the ground, racing against the wave Bawanzi had unleashed, piercing through the water and slamming directly into Bawanzi's back, splitting her in two.
But, after Lancelot's strike had bisected Bawanzi, the two halves of her body quickly turned into pools of blood, rejoining and quickly reforming into her human form. She then transformed back from her blood state and reappeared before everyone, unharmed.
"Oh? When did you get this ability?"
Lancelot's voice echoed in the air as the lightning paused, her eyes scanning Bawanzi before shaking her head indifferently:
"Since that's the case, all I need to do is vaporize you in your blood state, and that should take care of you."
