Chapter 332: Gong
Pablo said that he and Draxus would join the orgy of Kony, one more soldier and the second Marshal's wife.
And at that, Draxus could only sigh.
"Sure. I have never been to an orgy before."
"You will like it." Pablo said.
"You have experience with that?" Draxus was surprised.
"Of course not. I am just saying."
Pablo never experienced orgy. He was too busy killing people.
"Then I shall take my leave." Draxus said.
Pablo nodded.
Draxus made Pablo come out of his shadow and Draxus went to his room as well.
Pablo again drifted to sleep and like that the night passed and the next day arrived with a…
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Pablo jolted up from his bed.
Flashy did the same.
"What's that, Boss? What happened? What's that sound?"
Pablo answered nothing and went to the door of the room.
He opened the door and the sound was still coming.
Someone was beating a gong and it was ringing in the entire Military camp.
All the Abyssal Butchers soldiers came out of their rooms.
"That's the sound of an emergency. Something big happened."
"The last time this happened was five years ago."
"What is it this time?"
The soldiers talked among themselves and Pablo finally understood the matter.
Draxus, Nike, Sera and Flashy came beside Pablo and they all asked the same thing :
"What is going on?"
And Pablo had only one answer for them.
"The first Marshal finally got to know about the disappearance of two more of his soldiers."
Flashy went silent and Draxus had nothing to say as well.
Nike and Hena found sweat on their faces.
"Don't show any fear on your face. Act like you know nothing. If I get caught because of you people, I will kill you." Pablo straight out threatened.
Hena and Nike nodded and tried their best to remain calm.
Flashy and Draxus were used to such things from Pablo so they found no problem in acting nonchalant.
The gong rang for a few more minutes and after making sure each person of the camp heard it, the gong finally stopped.
After the gong though, an announcement rang.
"Each and everyone is asked to gather at ground 0 in five minutes."
That was all and each soldier obliged. They went inside their rooms to get ready.
Pablo sighed. "The sun hasn't even fully come out yet."
"We have to go, czar."
"I know. Get ready. I am already in my uniform so I don't need that much time."
Everyone nodded and went inside their rooms.
Flashy and Pablo did the same.
Pablo just washed his face and adjusted his Marshal uniform while Flashy took a short bath.
After two minutes, Pablo and his team were ready and they proceeded towards Ground 0.
There were thousands of soldiers with them and Pablo blended among them well enough. No one figured out he was a Marshal amidst the soldiers.
Eventually, all of them reached ground 0.
There was a stage in the ground and Pablo only saw heads and heads. Everyone from the military was there after all.
Pablo and the others walked a little further towards the stage and now they had a clear view.
On the stage, all the nine Marshals were present.
Fozier was standing in the front and beside him was the Admiral, Harlia.
All of them were serious and Fozier had a deep frown on his face.
He was eyeing each and every soldier present there and very soon, his eyes fell on Pablo.
'He will ask me why I wasn't at the building assigned for the Marshals.'
Fozier stared at Pablo and Pablo did the same.
Then, the first Marshal gestured his head.
Pablo nodded.
"I am going. Don't be afraid. You all did nothing." He said some parting words to his squad and stepped forward.
He walked towards the stage and stepped on it.
The countless soldiers didn't pay that much attention to Pablo as they were waiting for the big news the gong was rang for.
Pablo stood beside Fozier.
"Where were you?" Fozier asked.
"I was with one of my soldiers. What happened?" Pablo replied.
"The same thing I was afraid of."
Fozier only said that and Pablo joined the other Marshals, standing behind Fozier and Harlia.
Though, the second Marshal gave Pablo a mocking smile.
'He believes what Flashy says. Of course he is gloating.'
Pablo decided to ignore Luther and stood beside Diablo, the ninth Marshal.
"Hey." Diablo said.
"Hey." Pablo replied in kind.
"Do you know what's happening?" Diablo asked.
Pablo shrugged. "The first Marshal will tell us ourselves."
"That I know. I wonder what made him ring the gong."
"What's the significance of the gong?" Pablo asked.
"Whenever something big happens in the military, the gong is rang."
"Hmm. One soldier told me that the last time it rang, it was five years ago. What was the reason at that time?"
"A soldier had killed the Admiral's husband. So he was given a death sentence right here in front of everyone." Diablo shared and Pablo surely wasn't expecting that.
"The admiral had a husband?"
"Of course. She is a woman too. She loved a man and married her. One soldier was jealous of him so he killed her husband in sleep."
"That was one brave soldier."
"Yes. Something like that must have happened today as well." Diablo guessed.
"Can the King interfere with such things?" Pablo asked.
Diablo smiled. "Not even God has a say when the gong is rang."
Pablo sighed. "Let's just see what will happen here then."
"Yeah."
They both stopped talking and everyone standing at the ground stopped moving as well.
Now they were only looking at Fozier and Fozier won't make them wait too long.
"Everyone." He spoke and all the listeners stood straight.
"I rang the gong today because I had to. I want you all to listen carefully to what I am going to say."
"Yes!" Everyone replied.
Fozier carried on.
"Yesterday, one of my soldiers was killed."
GASP!
Everyone gasped.
But before they could overcome that, Fozier added :
"And today, two more of my soldiers are missing. And it's safe to assume that they are also dead."
Whispers spread around the ground.
"Silence!" The Admiral yelled.
And everyone stopped moving even their tiniest of muscle.
"In just the last two days, someone had the sheer audacity to murder my soldiers. So right now, what I want is, whoever committed this grave sin…"
Fozier roamed his eyes around all the soldiers and clenched his fists.
"Come forward."
