Chapter 455: Divide and Conquer
Harlia stared at Pablo's red eyes.
The soldiers remained silent as they were afraid to speak anything against the passionate Pablo they were seeing right now.
The Admiral wasn't someone Pablo could just threaten but when Harlia looked to the crux of it, Pablo didn't threaten her at all. He simply said his point and now watched her for an answer.
Pablo had said that no one could kill Marvador. The new eighteen year king of the Vampires. He said with conviction and he made a fair point as well. Marvador had killed a man that was ruling the vampires for a hundred years after all. So surely, this man won't be a puny target.
But Harlia was also sure of her strength. She could kill anyone. Even a dragon that, for some reason, hadn't appeared for more than two hundred years. They used to exist but they aren't seen anymore.
Anyway, fuck the dragons. She was more focused on Pablo. His red eyes were full of determination and just for that, she decided to hear him out at least.
"What do you want me to do, Pablo? I haven't agreed with you yet but I would like to hear your thoughts."
Pablo nodded.
"My thoughts are simple, Admiral. You want to take control of each and every soldier and people who will fight in this war, right?"
"Yes."
"I want that too."
Harlia raised her brows but before she could retort or outright refuse, Pablo added:
"But we can't have two Commanders during a war. That would be bad for the soldiers and our kingdom. We would lose even before the fighting could start. That's why I want you to do this."
Pablo backed off from the Admiral's face and shared what he wanted.
"Divide the whole army of the Forza Kingdom in two parts."
Everyone's brows shot up.
Draxus found a smile on his lips as he expected a demand like this from his Czar.
Harlia quivered her brows. "How is that possible? How will we manage if I accept this idea of yours? Also, are you willing to take responsibility for all the soldiers' and fighters' lives? They will be under your hands. Can you take the burden of their deaths if they died just because they followed your orders?"
"We are not going to play, Admiral. It is a war. Of course, people will die. So I am not worried about being traumatized. The soldiers will fight. And if they died, they died to protect something. There is no shame in dying. That's why I won't be burdened with their souls if they die.
And about how we will manage? It's simple. Divide the whole army in two parts. Everything should be equal. One part will be handled by you and one part will be handled by me. And if you think about it, this is also efficient. One part will fight the vampires and the other part will focus on the Cannibals. The cannibals would be easy to kill and after they die, the part that fought the cannibals will be free and then they can aid the other part in fighting the vampires."
Pablo answered Harlia and she went into deep thoughts.
The soldiers, however, found Pablo's idea not that bad and some of them even agreed.
After a few minutes, Harlia spoke again, "The size of our army is less than Vampires but more than Cannibals. But since the vampires and cannibals have combined their forces, if we divide our army, we will be at even more loss. We will lose by the numbers game."
"Yes. We have less man power than the combined forces of the Cannibals and Vampires. But think about it, Admiral. Do you think the Cannibals and the Vampire soldiers will be in the same battalion? No. Their Kings might have become friends but their soldiers won't be. The Cannibals like all kinds of flesh so some soldiers might attack vampires just to eat them.
Therefore, they will both keep their armies separated. One side will be the army of the Cannibals and the next side will be the Vampires' army. Yes, both armies will attack at the same time but they will stay separated no matter what.
That's why we will also divide our army. One part will be yours that will handle the Cannibals and my part will handle the Vampires. Before you ask me why I want you to handle the cannibals, I will tell you myself. You are strong and the Cannibals are weak. If you handle them, you will finish each one of them as fast as possible. And then you can join my part and help me finish the Vampires. Of course, leave their King to me. He thinks he is a monster. And he only thinks like this because he hasn't seen what a monster really is."
Pablo explained to the best of his abilities and now all the soldiers were convinced. Pablo made sense and the soldiers would like to be in the part commanded by him.
Only the Admiral was left to make a decision.
Pablo waited for her to make up her mind. He had no reason to wait for her permission as he could simply just call the King and make the Admiral agree. Well, if Harlia didn't agree then his last option was calling the King anyway.
But Pablo had to nothing like that because with a sigh, Harlia said:
"Fine. You make a fair point. This is not how I like to do War. I orchestrated war the way I wanted as I was the only one commanding it. No one ever stepped up and challenged my decision like this and won. You really have balls, Pablo. Men like you are less. And your soldiers too," Harlia gazed at the men and her eyes stopped at Flashy. "They have some guts in them."
Flashy held back the urge to hide his face and laugh like a fool.
Harlia also averted her gaze and looked at Pablo.
"After one hour, gather your soldiers and meet at th—"
RING!
Harlia stopped speaking.
Her Receiver rang in the middle of her words and she looked at it.
She frowned as she didn't recognise the number but picked the call anyway.
Though, she put it on speaker as she believed it was an important call.
Pablo stared at it and everyone waited for the other side to say something.
But nothing came from there and Harlia clenched her jaw.
She raised her finger to cut the call and just then…
"This is Malvador Nocturne speaking. Is this a good time to talk?"
