Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Watching the location where the disciple and master pair had disappeared from as the last few spatial fluctuations left behind by the spatial artifact slowly began to disperse on their own, Xuan Hao used the short time before the spatial fluctuations disappeared to lock onto the spatial coordinates that the two were travelling to. Allowing him to follow them in a similar way as to how the spiritual tree had chased him back in the Eastern Central Region. The main difference being that it would be far harder for Huo Fen and his disciple to run away, as the spatial artifact required significantly longer to prepare for spatial traversal compared to himself. Not to mention potential limitations that might be present in the spatial artifact due to lack of understanding of the Dao of Space from the master and disciple.

Originally, he planned to leave and follow the two. Taking advantage of the gap that their departure had created in the trapping formation given that leaving on his own would take some effort even if he had managed to designate himself as someone not to be attacked by the formation.

But… On second thought, he decided against it. Instead planning to linger around for a bit longer to observe the formation for longer, as it was extremely helpful when it came to improving his understanding of the Dao of Formations.

At the same time, it also gave him a chance to gauge the power of the small temple from the Heavenly Dragon Temple without any significant risk, as the small temple was preoccupied dealing with the trapping formation and had no time to spare for him in the rare case that it even managed to notice his presence.

The only real worry would be the far stronger cultivators behind the trapped Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators showing up, but with the trapping formation still having the ability to resist someone in the Land Creation Realm for a few seconds even in its damaged state, he felt confident that he would be able to use teleport away before the trapping formation was broken through.

As for what to do in case a Star Creation Realm cultivator appeared… Well… He had no plans for such a situation…

Leaving the auction house while thinking about what he might do in the unlikely scenario that someone at the Star Creation Realm- no, just someone the same level as the Spiritual tree appeared, Xuan Hao soon found himself hovering a short distance away from the small temple.

The small temple in question was surrounded by a faint golden barrier that was being was being constantly attacked by countless vines that attempted to break through it and capture the Celestial Immortal Ream cultivator inside to no avail.

Not just that, but Xuan Hao also noticed that the golden barrier was growing stronger with each passing second and was pushing back against the vines that tried their best to break through it.

In just a few short seconds since he had left the auction house, the golden barrier went from covering an area a little over a dozen meters around the small temple to covering an area close to fifty meters around the small temple.

Even more astonishing, the speed of the golden barrier's growth was rapidly increasing and from a quick calculation, Xuan Hao realized that it wouldn't take mor than a minute for the golden barrier to cover the entire city and essentially render the trapping formation useless in the process.

Meaning, he had far less time to take in the profound formation symbols concealed within the trapping formation than he had first expected.

Unfortunate as this might have been, it also gave him a better understanding of just how terrifying the small temple was when it was capable of burrowing strength from the main temple of the Heavenly Dragon Temple.

Just from sensing the presence of the golden barrier, it was clear that it had already become strong enough to resist someone in the Sea Formation Realm like himself and seemed like it might even reach the same level as the trapping formation when it grew to cover the entire city.

Of course… A major difference between the golden barrier of the small temple and the trapping formation being that the trapping formation was in an extremely damaged state barely capable of using a single percentage of its original strength, while the golden barrier would carry the full might of a Land Creation Realm Formation.

No matter how confident he might be in his own strength and ability to escape, Xuan Hao had no plans of getting himself caught up in this kind of terrifying formation and intended to leave before the battle between the trapping formation and the golden barrier of the small temple came to an end.

But before that, outside of analyzing the formation symbols of the trapping formation to further his own comprehension of the Dao of Formations, he also decided to look below ground to see what had ended up happening to the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators who had been captured by the trapping formation.

Soon enough, digging down into a vast hollowed out space covered in countless vines along with countless large cocoons created by these vines that had been scattered throughout the large space that should have been created shortly after the activation of the trapping formation, as he had not sensed this massive underground space that essentially stretched to cover most of the space beneath the city above.

The main reason why he came down below ground wasn't just to check out on the situation and see how the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators confined inside the largest of the cocoons and were trying to break free with no success, as they could only helplessly watch their qi being drained by the vines, but instead to observe the core of the trapping formation that was located below ground along with a majority of the formation itself.

The only real parts of it he had seen above ground being the few bits Huo Fen had used to project the formation above ground and allow him to activate it through the small formation he had discreetly set up inside the auction house.

In fact, the formation above ground couldn't be considered the true trapping formation, but instead a small part of it. The true formation was located below ground, hence the reason why the vines had ended up dragging the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators below ground. Forcing them into the main section of the formation where it would be capable of displaying its full might- or at least what was left of it, and seal them up with relative ease.
