Chapter 472: Divine Name, Genius
The cost...what is it?
Upon hearing this question.
Cavert revealed a condescending smile in the eyes of the Kali Civilization leaders.
Even through the large screen, the leaders could feel Cavert's disdain and contempt for them.
An anger arose in their hearts, but upon thinking that the other party might be colluding with an alien civilization, it quickly turned into grievance.
"Cost?"
"What else does your civilization have that is worthy of the True God's attention and blessing besides faith!"
"Rest assured, you beings with sight limited to what's before you."
"Your wealth, lives, or power, the True God is not interested in any of it."
"What is needed...is for you to become believers of the True God, signing a contract to never betray, for eternity."
"Be...lief?"
Upon hearing Cavert's answer, the leaders of Kali Civilization were somewhat stunned.
A god of religious significance actually coming to obtain faith?
It's unbelievable!
While the Kali Civilization leaders were dumbfounded, a calm voice from the great scientist came through their earpieces:
"It's possible that in the domain of spirit or subconsciousness, there has been a particularly deep breakthrough, discovering an alien civilization that can inherently utilize consciousness's effects, or distinct biological entities born from the vast Star Sea."
"These speculations are theoretically coherent, as indeed there are a few hard-to-replicate success cases where consciousness changes material."
"So, though somewhat bizarre and incredible, it is scientific."
"However, our current technology is just insufficient to scientifically explain them."
After the great scientist finished speaking.
The leaders of Kali Civilization gradually returned to negotiation with Cavert.
Or rather, listened to the requirements of Cavert, the envoy of the True God.
Firstly, to prepare for the arrival, avoiding chaos when the True God arrives.
Secondly, to set post-crisis societal construction details.
This involved Cavert's treatment.
As the envoy, Cavert would undoubtedly become the pope of the True God Church, possessing the highest authority after the crisis passed.
The Kali Civilization leaders were instinctively inclined to reject this.
But seeing Cavert on the verge of breaking the link silently.
The leaders had to acquiesce after some discussion.
Naturally, if the True God is not as feared and Cavert is verified as merely bluffing.
Then they naturally would not adhere to the current agreement.
At least, when the phantom contract suddenly appeared in front of each leader, physically located at the ends of the earth, during the meeting, they thought so.
Only, these leaders, who had always believed in the power of science.
Now faced with the sudden appearance of the contract, displayed a variety of richly expressive faces.
Looking at the contract burning with faint black glow around its edges.
They felt their hearts pounding.
At the same time, a voice emerged from their subconscious:
This is a mysterious object, once signed, breaking it comes with grave consequences!
If possible, don't sign it! Don't sign it!
Though thinking this internally.
None of the Kali Civilization leaders dared not to sign.
Not only did this tactic shock them once more.
More importantly, the mutations starting to spread over their bodies also reminded them.
To avoid becoming malformed monsters and dying painfully...this is the only path!
It's the only chance for the Kali civilization!
Thus, from the very beginning, Kali Civilization had no choice!
Compared to being enslaved by alien civilizations, the Mother Star becoming a colony.
Selling out faith didn't seem so intolerable.
Even if Kali Civilization leaders worried that so-called faith might involve their subjective thinking, believing in the True God might turn them into puppets of the True God.
But at this point, they can only deceive themselves that the worst outcomes will not occur.
Cavert sensed that all Kali Civilization leaders signed the curse technique-filled contract.
Cavert nodded slightly on the screen and mildly spoke before ending the connection:
"This contract is not merely a shackle."
"Also, consider it a gift from me to you."
"A gift?"
Seeing Cavert's figure vanish from the screen.
The Great Commander of the Kali Civilization muttered this word repeatedly.
Suddenly noticing something, he lifted his shirt and looked down.
He immediately found the purple flesh bulge on his stomach, once as large as a basketball, had shrunk to half its size.
Additionally, the color faded considerably.
Though not completely restored, this was the first time the Great Commander saw the mutation not only cease growing but actually shrink after it manifested!
Despite being across a whole Earth-Moon distance!
At the Moon surface base, the Great Commander began proactively viewing the information Cavert provided.
The one True God coming to save the Kali Civilization.
Named...one of the Abyss Seven Emperors, Master of Seven Emotions and Six Desires!
The word Abyss, upon appearing, instinctively repelled the Kali Civilization leaders subconsciously.
But, having signed it already, regardless of how unreliable the True God appeared to be in style, faith must be placed!
Fortunately, it seemed this True God did not delight in eating humans or such hobbies.
What It wanted was for followers to believe in It, then supply emotions throughout their lives.
