Time seemed to freeze in place as tension filled the air.

Arthur glanced between Jack, who sat in the car with a visibly aggrieved expression, and the security guard, who stood petrified with shock.

Unable to help himself, Arthur walked over, patted the security guard on the shoulder, and said with a smile, "This is the Tequila Girl!"

The words hung in the air like a bad joke.

Tequila Girl… The phrase echoed in the guard's mind, clashing violently with the very obvious image of Jack sitting awkwardly in the backseat.

The next moment, the guard snapped out of his stupor, shoved Arthur aside, and drew his pistol, pointing it squarely at Jack.

"You piece of—! Hands up! Don't move!" he roared.

The shout triggered a chain reaction. Other security guards nearby quickly trained their weapons on the vehicle, while one even turned his gun on Arthur.

Jack raised his hands, clearly understanding his precarious position. Wearing nothing but the ridiculous pink dress, resistance wasn't an option. Any sudden movements, and he'd be riddled with bullets.

Arthur stepped forward, his voice loud and commanding. "Whoa, whoa! Misunderstanding! It's all a misunderstanding! Why are you pointing guns all of a sudden?"

The security guards turned their attention to Arthur, but one remained unconvinced, his gun aimed directly at him. "Shut up! Your actions are highly suspicious! Don't move a muscle, or I'll shoot!"

Arthur sighed, slowly raising his hands in a gesture of surrender. "Okay, okay, no need for violence! Damn, you saw through such a brilliant disguise so easily?"

A brief, awkward silence fell over the group.

The lead guard scowled and gestured at Jack in the car. "Do you think I'm stupid? What woman has muscles like that? And an Adam's apple, for crying out loud!"

Arthur forced an awkward smile. "Come on, man. Don't be so close-minded. Couldn't it be surgery? Besides, she's a member of the Animal Gang. Ever seen one of their ladies?"

The guard didn't look convinced. "Stop trying to pull a fast one on me! Explain properly, or I'm calling the NCPD for endangering public safety!"

Arthur quickly adjusted his tone, raising his hands slightly higher to show he meant no harm. "Alright, alright. Look, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. But some things can't be said out loud. If this gets out, I'm done for… and so are you."

The guard hesitated, his suspicious glare softening slightly. After a moment, he pointed his gun at the ground and motioned for Arthur to step closer. "Fine. Talk. But if you're lying, I swear you're not leaving here alive."

Arthur exhaled in relief, patted his chest dramatically, and approached the guard. He leaned in close and whispered, "Alright, here's the truth. Yes, the person in the car is a guy."

The guard rolled his eyes. That much was obvious.

The other security guards, who had been on edge, also began to relax, holstering their weapons one by one.

Arthur continued, lowering his voice even more. "There's a bigger story here, but I can't tell you everything at once. If you don't believe me, I'll explain piece by piece. But the less you know, the safer you'll be. Trust me."

The guard mulled this over for a moment before nodding cautiously. In a place like Night City, knowing too much could get you killed. The safest bet was often to stay ignorant.

Arthur seized the opportunity to drop a bombshell. "You know Kerry, right? The music superstar?"

The guard's eyes widened slightly. Of course, he'd heard of Kerry. Everyone in Night City had.

Arthur pressed on. "Yeah, that Kerry. You've probably seen the news about him recently. Let me tell you, the tabloids barely scratched the surface."

The guard's expression changed as realization dawned. Sweat began to bead on his forehead.

Arthur leaned in closer, his tone conspiratorial. "You get it now, don't you? There's more to Kerry than meets the eye. The company's been working overtime to keep things quiet. If this gets out, album sales could tank. Rock fans don't take kindly to certain… lifestyle choices, you know?"

The guard swallowed hard, nodding slowly. He didn't need more details to connect the dots.

Arthur straightened up, adjusting his tone to sound more casual. "Now you see why this whole operation's under the radar. If word gets out, the consequences could be... unpleasant for everyone involved."

The guard quickly holstered his gun, wiping the sweat from his brow. He turned to the other security personnel and declared, "I've checked everything. There's nothing suspicious in the car. Just one guy and one lady. No contraband."

Arthur exhaled, relieved the tense standoff was finally over.

As the guards prepared to wave them through, the lead guard hesitated, stepping closer to Arthur. "Should I notify Mr. Kerry about this? You know, just in case?"

Arthur's expression turned deadly serious. "Are you insane? If you call him, he'll know that you know. And if he knows that you know…" Arthur trailed off, shaking his head ominously. "Do you really want to spend the night in a slum—or worse?"

The guard froze, a cold sweat breaking out again. He nodded frantically. "Got it. I didn't see anything. Didn't hear anything. You were never here."

"Smart man," Arthur said, clapping the guard on the shoulder.

With the situation diffused, Arthur climbed back into the car, signaling Jack to stay quiet. As they passed through the gates and into the sprawling luxury of North Oak, Arthur couldn't resist a grin.

Jack glared at him from the backseat. "Tequila Girl? Really?"

Arthur shrugged. "It worked, didn't it? Besides, you pull off the look. Very convincing."

Jack groaned, slumping back in his seat. "I swear, if I survive this, I'm never doing this again."

Arthur chuckled, focusing on the road ahead. The villas of North Oak gleamed like monuments to wealth and power, their towering facades a sharp contrast to the chaos of Night City below.

As they approached their destination, Arthur's grin faded. The hardest part of their mission was still ahead. And in a place like Night City, even the smallest misstep could cost them everything.
