Cael reached the Guild, tucked inside the towering structure of Babel that dominated the center of Orario. The Guild shared space with the entrance to the Dungeon, and like always, it was busy.

He glanced around, watching adventurers come and go some limping with injuries, others celebrating small victories. Rookies rushed around nervously, while experienced parties moved with practiced coordination. The air was full of movement, tension, and ambition.

Cael didn't draw much attention. He was just one more beginner in a city full of people chasing glory. A few glanced at him briefly—likely noting his lack of gear but quickly looked away.

Good. He preferred it that way.

With a calm stride, he made his way to the main counter. A familiar pink-haired receptionist spotted him and waved him over with a bright smile.

"Hey, we meet again, newbie!" she said with a playful tone. "Got yourself a Familia yet?"

Cael smiled lightly. "Yeah. Hestia Familia. I wanted to register as an adventurer."

The receptionist—Misha Flott, according to her badge—blinked for a second. Was he always this handsome? She caught herself, smiled even more brightly, and pulled out a stack of forms.

"Well then, let's get you signed up," she said, sliding over the paperwork. "Name, age, basic info... you know the drill."

Cael filled out the form quickly. Misha handed him a small booklet afterward—a beginner's guide to surviving in the Dungeon.

"Read it," she said seriously. "And don't go thinking you're invincible just because you've got a cool smile."

Cael chuckled softly. "No promises."

But then Misha's eyes drifted down to his gear—or rather, the complete absence of it.

"Wait… you're not carrying a weapon?" she asked, blinking. "No armor either?"

Cael gave a sheepish look, scratching his cheek. "...I kind of forgot."

"Forgot?" she stared at him, dumbfounded. "What the hell—are you planning to die on your first day?"

He gave an awkward smile. "If you have anything cheap, I'd really appreciate it. Sword, armor—whatever works."

Misha sighed, shaking her head, but there was amusement in her eyes. "You're lucky you're cute."

She disappeared into the back and returned with a basic leather armor set and a plain iron sword. "Here. These should keep you alive for the first floor, at least."

Cael tried them on. The armor fit well enough, and the sword, while nothing fancy, felt balanced in his grip.

"It's good," he said sincerely, pulling out the small pouch Hestia had given him. "I don't know how much this is worth here, but I hope it's enough."

Misha looked into the pouch, then gave him a sly smile.

"Tell you what," she said, gently pushing the pouch back toward him. "It's on the house—just take me on a date later and we'll call it even."

She held onto his hand a little longer than necessary, a faint blush rising to her cheeks.

'She's flirting with me?' Cael thought, blinking once. Still, he wasn't about to argue with free gear.

"Sure," he said casually. He pocketed the pouch and turned toward the Dungeon stairs.

The Dungeon entrance sat beneath the Guild in the center of Babel's lower floor. A circular platform surrounded a wide, ten-meter hole that spiraled downward into darkness. Dozens of adventurers moved along the perimeter, entering and exiting via the wide, spiraling staircase that descended into the depths.

Cael didn't hesitate.

He walked down the wide stone steps calmly, step by step, as the light above began to fade behind him. The temperature dropped slightly, and the pressure in the air changed. It felt heavier. Thicker.

Living.

By the time he reached the base, he was standing on the first floor of the Dungeon.

The atmosphere was quiet. Pale blue crystals pulsed gently from the walls, casting eerie light across the smooth stone. Despite the silence, he could feel movement ahead—faint footsteps, the scuffle of claws.

Then he saw them.

Three goblins, patrolling loosely across the corridor. Ugly, green-skinned creatures with yellow eyes and jagged teeth. Two held makeshift clubs, while the third dragged a broken sword.

They hadn't noticed him yet.

Cael exhaled slowly.

No fear. No hesitation.

He moved.

In a blur, he sprinted forward, sword raised. His boots barely made a sound as he closed the distance. Before the goblins could react, Cael's blade came crashing down.

The first goblin never saw it coming.

The sword sliced through its neck cleanly—its body dissolved into black mist before it even hit the floor.

The second goblin turned just as Cael stepped into range. Cael dropped low, feinting with the sword, then drove his shoulder into the creature's gut with full force—just like a boxer throwing a body blow.

The goblin reeled back, choking, and Cael didn't give it a chance to recover.

He grabbed its arm, twisted it, and slammed the goblin headfirst into the ground with a clean suplex. The stone cracked slightly from the impact.

Without wasting a second, Cael brought his foot down on its skull with a brutal stomp. It vanished into mist like the first.

The last goblin, now fully alert, screamed and rushed him with a jagged club raised.

It swung low, aiming for Cael's knees—smart for a creature that knew its strength was in crippling blows.

Cael reacted instantly.

He sidestepped the swing, caught the goblin's wrist mid-motion, and used its own momentum to yank it forward. At the same time, he twisted his body and slammed his elbow into its face, breaking its nose with a wet crunch.

The goblin shrieked, stunned.

Cael didn't stop. He grabbed the back of its head and forced it down, raising his sword in his other hand.

He plunged the blade straight into the top of the goblin's skull, pinning it to the floor.

Silence returned.

All three goblins vanished into black mist, leaving behind nothing but the faint echo of battle and a few glowing magic stones on the ground.

Cael stood still for a moment, breathing calmly.

His heart was pounding—not from fear, but from the rush.

His grip on the sword tightened slightly.

This world... it's real now.

He crouched down, picked up the magic stones, and glanced deeper into the corridor.

More monsters were waiting.

And so was his future.
