Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1084: One Favour, not Two

Chapter 1084: One Favour, not Two

Alterian was a planet that had been unified under the banner of the Grand Magus. Countries were still independent and had their own governments, but they followed the rules stipulated and set out by the Grand Magus.

If a group didn't follow those rules, then they would lose favor of the Grand Magus, and with the power, the guilds, and the force the Grand Magus had, no one wanted to lose favor.

However, there were still various groups that opposed their local governments. Guilds that worked on the dark market, and those that tried to gain control of their own countries outside of all of this.

With it, there was even a separate military force, the Radiant Order. They were filled with talented mages, with many recruited from the Central Academy.

They weren't independent like the guilds, as they were a military force meant to only deal with internal matters in Alterian.

Because of the task, they were well compensated, especially the higher-ranking individuals. Outside of the metropolis were the Suburban areas. Large manors with plenty of land, a literal field with a giant garden at the back. And gates marked at the front.

Away from the extremely busy lives of the local people. On the second floor, straining out of a large pane window looking out of her front garden was Aurora.

She had been constantly peeking out through her curtain, straining at the waterfall area, just in front of her well-laid bushes and gravel ground.

That's when she noticed the bushes starting to violently move. "He's here, he has to be here!" Aurora said, hiding her body even more behind the curtain.

She could see a man with white hair, gracefully landing just in front of the water feature, with his hands by his side.

"It's Jake, he's finally here, and it might be me imagining things because I haven't seen him for a while. But he looks even more hunky than before. His body is extremely well-built, and there's almost a glow to his skin!" Aurora inwardly screamed and even bit her lip, as all sorts of thoughts were going through her head, as to just what she would do if she managed to get her hands on that body.

As for the improvements on Raze's body. It was all because he had reached a higher stage as a warrior. The glowing skin was a result of that, including his well-defined facial features.

Even for a Pagna warrior, Raze was now above the normal means compared to a regular person. With his position, and the troubles around him, Raze didn't even notice the people fawning over him when he walked through the city.

Quickly, Aurora checked herself in the mirror, and quickly started to run down the stairs, to head outside.

For Raze, as he entered the front entrance, he started to walk forward. That's when he noticed a gardener, and several other staff members starting to head his way.

"This is certainly fancy. Instead of a small apartment in the city, could I have had something like this at this cost?" Raze thought, but thinking of such buildings and no one to share it with, had made him quite sad.

"A mage just flew over the entrance, gather everyone quickly!"

"Who are you, state why you're here immediately!"

Several of the guards located on the outside, placed both hands out in front of them, magic circles started to form, and spells were ready to be released in an instant at Raze.

'I expected this welcome if I was the Dark Magus, but not a welcome like this right now,' Raze thought. 'If I don't manage to calm things down, I might just have to fight back... can I take all of these on without using magic?'

Raze started to wonder as Wind magic began to swirl all around his body, lifting up the gravel off the ground.

"WAIT!" A voice shouted, and a woman in a fluffy large dress started to run across. "Everyone stand down, stand down! That man! He's a guest, he's a guest of my brother, didn't I already inform you all!"

The mages, seeing who was the one shouting, started to place their hands down, and Raze recognized the girl slightly from his time at the academy.

Eventually, Aurora reached them, and placed her head down greeting Raze.

"I think next time, it would be best if you didn't fly over the gate, then we could have welcomed you properly," Aurora said.

"Right, right, sorry, I didn't realize there would be so many people here. If you could please take me to see your brother, that would be helpful," Raze asked.

Aurora bowed down once again, and then started to lead the way. Her legs were nervous, her mouth was turning dry. She didn't know what to say as she took Raze through the manor.

She started to remember what had occurred the last time the two had met. She had even used a dangerous spell that had almost killed his dear sister.

Since that day, she had stopped picking on Kelly, but it was hard to come back from that, and the two weren't exactly close.

Before she knew it, they had walked through the manor towards the back door, and now were in the grand garden filled with land.

A particular red-haired man, wearing a military blazer that was buttoned up, was outside. This was Alen.

A talented mage that was already pinned to be the next Grand Magus. He was wearing white gloves, and licking his fingers constantly as he cast fire spell after fire spell in the air.

He was moving his body fluidly, and athletically along with the fire. Almost as if he was doing a dance. Raze had to admit the magic was quite spectacular and wasn't the type of magic display that he used to show.

Eventually, he stopped and turned to Raze, noticing him and his sister.

"You're earlier than I expected. I guess this means you really wanted to see me," Alen said, wiping the sweat from the top of his head. "Aurora, I would like to have a private conversation with this man, so can you make sure no one comes and disturbs us."

"You got it!" She said with her thumb up and continued to stand there.

"That includes you," Alen added.

Aurora's face turned bright red, and quickly she had decided to run back inside the building.

"I thought I would never see you again after that day. After all, you already used your one- time favor, and I had allowed you to escape," Alen commented. "So why are you here in front of me right now, after all this time?"

"Well, can I ask you a question, why did you accept to see me? Did you do what I asked of you last time, to look into Enaxx, to try and find out more of the truth?" Raze asked.
