Chapter 141: Chapter 142: Goku vs. Jiren (Part 3)
"BANG!!" The sky trembled as Goku poured his remaining strength into the Kamehameha wave, matching the intensity of Jiren's blazing energy bomb. Both attacks were locked in a fierce stalemate, pushing against each other in a brilliant, blinding light.
"Huff… huff…" Goku and Jiren gasped for breath, their energy momentarily spent as both blasts finally dissipated, vanishing in an explosive burst. The fighters stared each other down, their gazes as unyielding as ever.
After a brief rest, Goku clenched his fists and propelled himself forward, aiming a swift punch at Jiren. In a flash, he closed the distance, his fists blurring as he unleashed a series of rapid strikes, each punch powerful enough to shatter mountains.
"Whoosh… BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"
Jiren moved with equal speed, weaving through Goku's attacks and raising his fists to retaliate. In a high-speed dance, their bodies flashed as streaks of red and white light across the sky, locked in a frenzied exchange. From a distance, the scene looked like ripples radiating through the heavens, evidence of their incredible power.
"BANG!"
After an intense sequence of strikes, Goku was knocked back, hurtling toward the ground like a meteor. He crashed with immense force, sending clouds of dust and debris flying in every direction. As the dust settled, a deep crater formed, and Goku emerged from the pit, looking battered but determined.
Watching from above, Jiren narrowed his eyes, gathering a fiery red energy in his right hand. He released a volley of energy blasts, each one streaking down toward Goku like a rain of fiery comets.
Goku clenched his teeth and launched himself from the crater, weaving through the sky to avoid the onslaught. The ground erupted in a series of explosions, massive bursts of energy shaking the land beneath them.
"Boom! Boom! BOOM!!" The blasts chased Goku, but he managed to evade them with skillful agility.
Seeing this, Jiren stopped the barrage and closed in on Goku, moving with blinding speed. In an instant, he was in front of Goku, launching a relentless assault with his fists and feet. Goku countered, blocking and dodging as best he could, but Jiren's strength was overwhelming.
"Bang!" With a powerful side kick, Jiren sent Goku skidding to the side, his feet digging into the ground as he struggled to regain balance. Just as he slowed, Jiren appeared again, throwing a fierce right punch. Goku ducked to dodge, moving to Jiren's left and countering with his own rapid punches.
"BANG BANG BANG!!" Goku's strikes forced Jiren back, each blow pushing him further as the two continued their fierce exchange.
"AH!" Jiren let out a roar, releasing a fiery red aura that flared around him. Goku responded, his own silver-white aura glowing like a brilliant galaxy, reflecting his Ultra Instinct.
With a loud shout, Goku rushed forward, and Jiren met his charge head-on. They clashed in a blur, their fists and feet moving at blinding speeds, striking with such force that the surrounding grass was torn from the ground, swirling into the air like leaves in a storm.
The intense battle pushed Goku to his limit. His strength waned, and his Ultra Instinct faded as his energy ran dry. As he reverted to his normal form, Goku could no longer match Jiren's might. The fight ended with Jiren as the victor, but only by a narrow margin.
"Beerus, it seems that our Jiren is stronger!" Belmod, the God of Destruction of Universe 11, smirked, looking over at Beerus with satisfaction.
Beerus scoffed, crossing his arms. "It's fine. Goku isn't even the strongest in our universe!" he replied confidently.
Belmod clenched his fists, annoyed. "Hmph. Next time, Jiren won't lose to anyone, not even Goten!" His voice dripped with determination.
Ignoring the banter, Beerus walked toward Goku, while Whis swung his staff, healing Goku's wounds with a gentle light. Marcarita, Universe 11's Angel, approached Jiren, doing the same for him.
Goku turned to Jiren, smiling despite his exhaustion. "Jiren, you're incredible! But I'll keep training. One day, I'll be able to defeat you!"
Jiren snorted, his expression stoic. "You won't get that chance. And tell Goten—I will become stronger and surpass him!" His eyes flashed with resolve.
Goku nodded, understanding Jiren's fierce spirit. He could tell that Jiren viewed him as a true rival, despite his reserved attitude. In truth, Jiren respected Goku's strength but refused to acknowledge it aloud, driven by his goal to surpass Goten.
Whis gestured to Goku. "Shall we head back, then?"
"Yeah, let's go," Goku replied, casting one last look at Jiren. "See you next time, Jiren!" he called.
Jiren remained silent, his eyes fixed firmly on the horizon, already anticipating his next challenge.
With a smile, Whis turned to Belmod and nodded. "Farewell, Lord Belmod. Until we meet again."
Belmod acknowledged with a nod, and Whis raised his staff, teleporting Goku, Beerus, and himself away from Universe 11.
…
Back in Universe 7, within the divine realm of destruction, Vegeta trained diligently on the expansive grassy fields. Having represented Universe 7 in the Tournament of Power, he had grown even more focused. Though he initially trained under Champa and Vados in Universe 6, he now relied on Beerus's guidance in his home universe.
Goku had invited Vegeta to accompany him to Universe 11, but Vegeta had declined, determined to surpass Goku through his own relentless training. He was resolute in his desire to be stronger, rejecting distractions.
Hours later, Whis, Beerus, and Goku returned to the divine realm.
"Lord Beerus!" Vegeta called, pausing his training as he saw them arrive.
"How did it go, Kakarot?" Vegeta asked, his voice edged with curiosity.
Goku scratched the back of his head. "Jiren was incredible! I couldn't beat him."
Vegeta smirked. "Well, I don't need to fight Jiren. I only need to surpass you, Kakarot."
"Hey, I just finished a fight!" Goku protested. "Can we wait until this afternoon?"
"Fine." Vegeta crossed his arms, nodding with a grin.
…
Time passed quickly, and before long, half a year had slipped by. In that time, peace reigned across the universes.
On Earth, atop Mount Paozu, Gohan's home was alive with warmth and family. Gohan and Videl had responsibilities to attend to, so they asked Goten to watch over their daughter, Pan.
"Hey, Pan, that's my hair!" Goten laughed as Pan tugged at his hair, clutching onto it with surprising strength. Being part Saiyan, Pan's grasp was powerful, causing Goten to wince in pain.
Pan laughed, unaware of her strength, but Goten tickled her in return, causing her to let go as she giggled in delight. He carefully lifted her down from his shoulders, breathing a sigh of relief.
At that moment, a familiar green figure stepped out from the doorway—Piccolo.
"Uncle Piccolo!" Goten exclaimed, holding Pan as if he'd been rescued. Watching over Pan was proving to be more challenging than any fight he'd faced!
