DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 217: Chapter 217 Show Me Your Courage

Destro resided in the Destro Hotel, located in the Manhattan area.

Yes, the hotel was one of Destro own properties.

Anton knew full well that while Destro was just an ordinary man, the key difference was that he was an extraordinarily wealthy ordinary man.

At this moment, the interior of the hotel, named after "Destro," had been entirely cleared out by the Cobra organization. The only people left inside were members of Cobra.

Officially, these individuals were part of Destro security team.

As an internationally renowned arms dealer, having enemies everywhere was an undeniable fact.

Vroom! Vroom!

Anton drove up in his car.

He wasn't planning to waste time or engage in drawn-out battles he intended to resolve the situation swiftly and decisively.

With that thought in mind—

Whoosh!

Passing through a dark alleyway, Anton transformed into Batman, and his car morphed into the Batmobile.

Anton drove the Batmobile straight into the hotel lobby.

Crash!

The revolving doors at the hotel entrance shattered violently, glass shards scattering in all directions. Startled pedestrians out for a late-night stroll flinched in shock, their expressions quickly turning to astonishment.

Was that… Batman?

The bystanders exchanged incredulous glances before breaking into excited murmurs as they ran for cover.

Batman was back?!

After storming into the hotel, Anton had no intention of giving Destro team of enforcers—or rather, the Cobra operatives—any chance to resist.

In an instant, he summoned Green Arrow, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman.

With his main body as Batman, accompanied by these three avatars, the quartet of heroes moved as one. Against such overwhelming force, no enemy dared to stand in their way.

And certainly not someone like Destro or the Cobra organization.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Cobra enforcers pulled their triggers, with some even recklessly charging toward Anton and his allies, heedless of their own safety, even while their comrades were still firing.

Their faces were expressionless, and their eyes betrayed no emotion—like walking corpses.

Viper Soldiers!

Anton immediately realized what they were.

As products of the Cobra organization experimentation, Viper Soldiers were hardly different from the dead.

These soldiers were created using nano-worm serum—a technology derived from the same research behind nano-worm warheads.

Injecting nano-worm serum into a human body enhanced physical attributes to some extent but also suppressed the brain self-preservation mechanisms.

In simple terms, it stripped them of fear and pain, rendering the neural pathways in their cerebral cortex completely nonfunctional.

Unable to distinguish right from wrong, they became highly susceptible to control and followed orders with absolute obedience.

Additionally, the nano-worms in their bodies could rapidly assemble into functional combat units, neutralize any harmful substances, make them immune to toxins, and heal wounds at an accelerated rate.

However, Viper Soldiers were far from being true super-soldiers. Their enhanced abilities still didn't surpass the limits of ordinary humans.

Moreover, due to the exorbitant cost of producing nano-worm serum, even within the Cobra organization, there were likely only a few dozen Viper Soldiers in existence.

At this moment, it seemed that all of those Viper Soldiers were here.

"Looks like it time to wipe you all out," Anton said, his cape billowing behind him as he stood in his Batman form.

Watching the soldiers charging toward him with weapons drawn, he smiled coldly.

"Go!"

With a wave of his hand—

Whoosh!

Behind him, Cyborg, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman sprang into action, their movements as swift as lightning, launching a devastating counterattack.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, Green Arrow released several arrows, each piercing the hearts of the Viper Soldiers.

But the soldiers, incredibly resilient, continued to move even with their hearts punctured, though their motions became rigid and their bodies quickly lost heat.

"Oh?"

Anton expression darkened—not out of fear, but out of somber realization.

"These soldiers are already dead."

In essence, they were brain-dead.

After being injected with nano-worm serum, the Viper Soldiers had lost all traces of personal consciousness.

The only reason they could still move was that they were being controlled by the Cobra organization.

Rather than humans, they were tools.

To be honest, Anton found Cobra disregard for human life deeply unsettling.

"Let send you off quickly," he muttered coldly.

Just as this thought crossed Anton mind—

The three avatars—Green Arrow, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman—exchanged glances and shifted their stances.

Boom!

Green Arrow equipped explosive-tipped arrows.

Cyborg arm transformed into a powerful energy cannon.

Wonder Woman prepared to unleash a divine power shockwave.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In just a few blinks, blinding flashes, energy ripples, and divine shockwaves intertwined into a massive net, obliterating the advancing Viper Soldiers.

The enemies before them had no chance to evade and were instantly reduced to ash.

For these Viper Soldiers, they had already died long ago. What Anton and his avatars destroyed was merely their bodies.

"Oh?"

Cyborg electronic eye flickered. "Destro is trying to escape! He in a helicopter on the rooftop."

"The rooftop?"

Anton smirked coldly, striding toward the door. "Let go meet this Cobra arms dealer."

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Cyborg and Wonder Woman moved far faster than Anton and Green Arrow.

The two of them soared through the building, smashing through dozens of ceilings in seconds, and arrived at the rooftop helipad almost instantly.

At that moment, Destro had just stepped one foot into the helicopter, a briefcase in hand.

"Hello," Cyborg greeted, his tone calm as he faced the man before him.

"First time meeting, but I believe introductions aren't necessary, Mr. Destro."

"You're out of options," Wonder Woman said icily, her piercing gaze fixed on him.

Bang! Bang!

Suddenly, the helicopter pilot drew a gun and fired.

Pulse bullets zipped through the air like lightning, heading straight for Cyborg and Wonder Woman, who didn't even flinch.

Boom!

Before the bullets could reach, they detonated a meter away, stopped by a transparent energy shield that left not even a ripple of air, let alone fire or shockwaves.

The pulse bullets had no effect on them whatsoever.

Despite years of research and soldier enhancements, Cobra advanced weaponry stood no chance against these superhuman opponents.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

At that moment, Anton and Green Arrow ascended the side of the building using grappling wires, arriving on the rooftop just behind their teammates.

Anton stepped onto the helipad and surveyed the dissipating flashes of fire, a cold smirk playing on his lips.

"You seem to underestimate us!"

"That the nano-worm warhead he holding!"

Cyborg suddenly spoke up.

"Nano-worm warhead!"

Destro took a deep breath, suppressing the terror welling up inside him, and instead raised the case in his hand with a sudden motion.

"I suggest you don't come any closer!"

"Otherwise, I'll open this case and activate the nano-worm warhead!"

"If that happens, all of New York will be destroyed!"

As Destro spoke, his face twisted with madness, his expression growing increasingly unhinged.

The subordinates around him, hearing this threat, showed expressions of sheer panic. But they also knew there was no way out for them.

Facing four formidable superheroes, even with all the Viper Soldiers they had brought, they hadn't been able to stop them. What chance did they stand now?

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The moment those words left his mouth, the gazes of Batman—Anton main body—and his three avatars, Cyborg, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman, locked simultaneously onto Destro.

Their focus then shifted upward, freezing on the case containing the nano-worm warhead.

"If that what you want to do, then go ahead. Activate it," Batman said calmly. "Show me your courage, Destro."
