DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 280: Chapter 280 S.W.O.R.D. is Doomed, Black Egg Fled

"Considering the report submitted by the Men in Black, S.H.I.E.L.D. hid a significant amount of crucial information during the Kree invasion last century," stated Rabbit calmly.

"However, considering that the director at the time was Alexander Pierce, a member of Hydra, all of this seems reasonable."

"Alexander Pierce was the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the time, but Nick Fury was directly involved in the Kree invasion incident," said the representative from the United States.

"It is not out of the question that Alexander Pierce, representing Hydra, had established contact with the Skrulls. Regardless, Nick Fury, although not a member of Hydra, is not innocent."

At this moment, the Russian representative looked around: "Now that everyone understands the situation, let state our positions regarding the handling of S.W.O.R.D. directly."

"I suggest that we immediately arrest Nick Fury, take control of all members of S.W.O.R.D., and let none escape," said the representative from the United States.

"Anton Jamison, in the name of the Men in Black, has requested the Skrull corpse that was archived inside S.H.I.E.L.D. He and the Justice League will work to crack the Skrulls shape-shifting abilities and provide us with a solution."

"Agreed."

"Agreed."

It was rare for the representatives of the World Security Council to unanimously pass the proposal of the representative from the United States.

"Then, I recommend that a special forces team be tasked with this mission," said the representative from the United States.

The special forces, although not an organization of the World Security Council, are intricately linked with the countries present here.

After all, this is a special forces team joined by multiple countries.

It is essentially another version of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Following the Battle of New York, the special forces, as participants in the resistance against the Chitauri, gained substantial support and quickly expanded from the original 23 countries to the current 59 countries.

Crucially, all five permanent members of the United Nations have joined.

As the concept of the special forces was proposed and integrated by the American side, the American influence is significant, and consequently, the headquarters was established at the former Washington headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Okay."

No other countries objected.

The special forces had just come into the light, and it was indeed necessary to do something to prove their worth.

Nobody knew that the decision had just been made by the World Security Council, and before the special forces could assemble and deploy, people like Nick Fury had already gotten wind of it.

S.W.O.R.D.

Director Maria Rambeau, a friend of Captain Marvel and now a African-American female pilot, had become a qualified leader after enduring many trials.

However, according to the normal timeline, Maria Rambeau would die of grief two years after Thanos snap, due to her daughter being a victim of the snap.

After that, Tyler Hayward, the main culprit behind the disassembling of Vision, suspected by many to be a Skrull, would become the acting director.

Of course, years before that snap, Maria Rambeau was still the director of S.W.O.R.D., and Tyler Hayward was just an agent under her command.

"We've been exposed."

She looked at Nick Fury in front of her and said gravely, "The World Security Council has taken direct action against us.

The special forces have already departed, and we will not have any chance to argue our case. We will be charged with crimes against humanity... Nick, you are their primary target."

"I know."

Nick Fury face was expressionless, but his eyes revealed a hint of resignation.

Years of effort, lost in an instant.

"Batman..."

As Nick Fury pondered, his brow furrowed.

He couldn't understand where his plans had gone wrong.

According to the information they had received,Anton, who were just appointed as the leaders of the Men in Black organization, had managed to thoroughly understand the situation at S.W.O.R.D., including most of the information about the Skrulls.

If it weren't for this, the current situation wouldn't be so dire.

After all, he had worked for the World Security Council for many years, and now he didn't even have a chance to defend himself.

Crimes against humanity!

"It hard to believe that one day I would be wanted for crimes against humanity," said fury, bitterly smiling.

He had diligently protected Earth for so many years, but today he had become a traitor to humanity in the eyes of the World Security Council.

"You are too presumptuous, Nick," said Maria Rambeau.

"I have advised you over the years to communicate these matters with the World Security Council, but you always felt that they would not agree with your ideology, and that why things have escalated to this point."

"That the reality. The thoughts of politicians are always different from ours," Nick Fury retorted, concealing his bitterness.

"You must understand that if it weren't for the constant alien threats over the past year, the World Security Council wouldn't have taken this matter seriously at all, and instead, they would have turned our allies into tools in their hands."

Maria Rambeau said mockingly, "Now the World Security Council is taking this matter seriously, but S.H.I.E.L.D. has lost their trust. The outcome is exactly as you feared before, even worse..."

"The situation is what it is, we cannot just sit and wait to die," Nick Fury mused for a moment.

"I'm preparing to take them to a spaceship in space to hide, waiting for the right time to return to Earth. Maria, you..."

"I will stay," Maria Rambeau interrupted , her tone leaving no room for doubt.

"I knew it," said Nick Fury. "You know what will happen if you stay, right?"

"Yes."

Maria Rambeau said, "They won't kill me. I will honestly confess everything. Of course, the mastermind behind all this is you, Nick. It was you who had me set up S.W.O.R.D."

"Alright, if you have to put it that way."

Nick Fury shrugged, offering no persuasion, nor did he take her words to heart.

Leaving one person behind might be good.

It would give the World Security Council a sufficient explanation.

Nick Fury knew that even if Maria Rambeau stayed behind, her life wouldn't be in danger she would just be arrested and at most face interrogation.

Not a big problem.

Once he found the right opportunity to return to Earth, naturally, there would be a way to clear the charges.

Before that, any action had to wait for the right moment.

"I'm leaving now."

Nick Fury stood up. "The special forces are coming soon, I don't have much time left."

"Get lost."

Maria Rambeau said, "If you see Carol out in space, remind her to come back to Earth to visit sooner. I haven't seen her for over a decade, and I miss her."

"I will, goodbye."

Soon after, Nick Fury, along with the Skrulls inside S.W.O.R.D., stylishly entered S.W.O.R.D. spaceship.

This spaceship was actually a trophy from Captain Marvel in the last century.

Maria Rambeau watched the spaceship lift off and leave Earth, her expression showing helplessness and regret.

Minutes after the spaceship had left, the special forces arrived at the scene.

Maria Rambeau did not struggle and raised her hands in surrender.

"I'll tell you anything you ask."

Maria Rambeau shrugged, "I am innocent."

"Where is Nick Fury?"

Hawk furrowed his brows, looking around. It seemed that Maria Rambeau was the only one left in S.W.O.R.D.

"He gone."

Maria Rambeau pointed to the sky, "He left on the spaceship with all the Skrulls."

"What?"

Hawk widened his eyes, displaying a look of disbelief.

"He ran away?"
