Dear God(I want to forget)

Chapter 1: A letter to Him

Letter 1

Fresh Cinnamon and vanilla Musk.

I never really understood your love for vanilla musk cologne. Most men prefer strong oak cologne that would ascertain their presence in a space . I found it odd that you loved vanilla so much it became a part of who you are. I have to admit, at first I thought you had a feminine side that you so badly wanted to hide away from the rest of the world but as I sit here and soak in the lingering scent of who you were I kind of fully understand why you loved vanilla so much. Vanilla is warm and rich with a hint of mystery, it's like there is so much to discover and so much to smell. It wasn't just a scent, it was a story told in soft amber and creamy sweetness, lingering in the air like a memory you never want to let go. Each time you inhale you feel the gentleness and the strength of it making it unforgettable. That's who you were, you were gentle, tender and strong, you were and still are unforgettable.

There is no point in dwelling in this scent now. It's futile because the one who owned it best isn't here. It seems incomplete without you. Every day before dozing off, I lay in my bed looking at the ceiling wishing and praying that you come back to me and tell me that you just needed a break. Having you not here by my side feels so wrong but when the odds are against us and fate has pulled us far apart…what's left for us besides accepting that you and I were never meant to be together for that long. We were just a passing phase, a fleeting moment that taught us a lesson to carry for a lifetime. Something you could boast about but hesitated to revisit because it was a wound that never really healed.

Sometimes I blame God. Why did he allow us to meet if he knew we were never destined to be each other's forever? Pretending like you never existed is hard, sometimes I want to cross all the oceans and seas to get to you because we both know that I belong in your arms. It's a very far-fetched want but Love makes us do crazy things, right?
