Chapter 787 - 469: Twelve Days
Chapter 787: Chapter 469: Twelve Days
Wyatt Nango sneered, indeed he had sworn by blood not to let the Nango Clan chase after Logan, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t let others do the chasing.
The Nango Clan had plenty of Spirit Stones and could completely afford to hire a master to go after Logan, even one hundred if necessary. In any case, Logan was definitely going to die.
The next moment, Wyatt Nango spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his body already at its limit, barely clinging to life: “My injuries are too severe, quickly take me back to the Nango Family to recover.”
Meanwhile, Logan had traveled over a hundred miles and reached a mountain range. After ensuring that nobody was around, he began his recovery.
This time, the injuries were too serious. Logan had stayed in the mountain range for half a month before he finally healed. However, due to his desperate fight against Wyatt Nango, Logan had advanced a step further in his realm, now having reached the Saint Seat Second Level. This change brought a smile to Logan’s face.
He himself had once been considered at the Saint Seat Second Level, but it was just a false realm, unlike now, which was genuine. This battle had been worthwhile for him; although he only took a small step forward, for other cultivators, this realm could take at least a hundred years to achieve.
Once a cultivator reaches the Saint Seat, the speed of cultivation slows down considerably. Even a minor breakthrough could take a prodigy decades. For those with slightly lesser talent, it could take centuries. For instance, in the Ancient World, there’s a kind of Saint Seat that very well might take a whole lifetime to reach the Saint Seat Fifth Level, let alone the Saint Emperor.
Logan had only arrived in the Outer Domain a few days ago, and with this trend, he would reach the Saint Emperor soon. Then he could return and no longer worry about being chased.
Just as he left the mountain range, Logan saw a group of people. Their auras were clearly powerful, so he hid in the mountains, being very cautious of the people from the Outer Domain after his previous experience. If they were like Wyatt Nango, he would have another brutal fight on his hands.
Even though he had concealed his presence completely, Logan was still detected. He saw one person attacking swiftly, and with no other choice, Logan had to reveal himself and fight. After three moves, neither could overcome the other. Logan was quite angry—why did people from the Outer Domain always want to fight upon meeting?
Seeing that victory couldn’t be determined, the man went back to a lady: “Miss, this person is quite strong, please send a few more guards to help suppress him.”
“Don’t be hasty, why resort to fighting at the slightest disagreement? We haven’t even confirmed if this person is an enemy,” Snow Wood gestured, indicating her subordinate should not act recklessly, as she didn’t perceive Logan as a bad person.
The man bowed and said with conviction: “Miss, one must always be wary of others. He was hiding on the side, and it’s clear that he must be up to no good. Otherwise, why would he hide himself?”
“What you’re saying is complete slander. A group of you approached, so of course, I should hide! How am I supposed to know if you are friend or foe? Are only you allowed to be cautious and not me?”
After listening, Logan retorted loudly with exasperation: “And you accuse me of harboring ill intentions—can’t you see? I’m just a cultivator at the Saint Seat Second Level. Against your group of more than a dozen, should I act, don’t I need to bring additional people? What difference could I possibly make alone?”
“You do have a point,” Snow Wood nodded and gestured, “Stand down. Without my order, do not act rashly, do you understand? Accidentally causing injury invites enemies. When we are outside, we must keep a low profile. If this happens again, don’t blame me for being unkind.”
After reprimanding her subordinate, Snow Wood looked at Logan: “Fellow Daoist, apologies for the overcaution of my subordinate. After all, it is for the sake of my safety. Fortunately, although we did come to blows, no harm was done. How about we let bygones be bygones in this matter?”
“Agreed.” Logan found the person speaking to be genuinely amiable, and he wasn’t the type to force the issue, so with a wave of his hand, he indicated he harbored no grudges.
“By the way, where are you all headed?” Logan then asked, “I’m looking for a city, but I’m not familiar with this place, and I’ve already stayed here for half a month.”
“The only nearby city is Heavenly Moon City. We happen to be headed there, so why not join us?” Snow Wood offered generously after a brief pause.
Logan had no objections. Following these people could increase his safety; if potentially malicious individuals saw him with such a large group, they would think twice about their actions.
However, the subordinate who had spoken up earlier, who was Snow Wood’s Captain of the Guards, disagreed: “Miss, as your Captain of the Guards, I think we shouldn’t trust people lightly in the current situation. He is definitely plotting something.”
Being doubted time and again, Logan lost his temper, unable to understand why this person kept suspecting him for no reason.
So, he sneered and said, “Since someone is unwilling, I, Logan, am not an unreasonable person. You go ahead, and I’ll find my way.”
“Captain Wei, you’ve been overstepping your bounds lately,” Snow Wood shot a glance at her subordinate and turned back to Logan: “Don’t mind him. This mountain range stretches for thousands of miles and is full of Demon Beasts and dangers. It would take you alone more than a year to get out. Come with us; I believe you’re not a bad person.”
“You’re sensible,” Logan didn’t want to bother with Captain Wei. He was just a subordinate, and there was no point in arguing with him—it would only lower his own standards.
