D.E.M.O.N.S: Getting Summoned Weekly isn't so Bad

After asking a bunch of questions the group had split up with Kat and Lily going for the pool. Eleanora may or may not have been following original, they weren't really paying attention. Whatever the case she wasn't around right now. It was just Kat, and Lily floating in the pool. Well, Kat had Lily resting on her stomach so technically Lily wasn't 'in' the pool but that was just semantics.

[How are you floating?]

*What?* Kat and Lily had been relaxing for a bit and it was nice. Just the two of them, nobody else. The slight sounds of the waterfall like enchantment at one end of the pool constantly adding more water as an underwater vent took it out.

[How are you floating? You're a lot heavier then a normal human, and by that I mean denser… so shouldn't you be sinking?]

*I… maybe? I'm not too sure on the physics of it all… but it's never been a problem before?*

[Well I'm only just now thinking about it. I was wondering if I'd weigh too much if I transformed into my human form… but then I realised that you should already weigh too much for this to work. So… no idea how any of this is actually working.]

*Hmmm… probably magic? I wonder if the fact I have my wings out changes things? Actually hold on.* Kat carefully used her tail to shift over towards the edge where she gently moved her girlfriend onto the poolside despite her annoyed meows. *Hang on I'm just testing something…* Lily did stop complaining audibly but Kat could tell she still wasn't pleased…

Until Kat decided to confront the fact this all shouldn't have worked. That she WAS too heavy and should sink. Funnily enough, that change in attitude was reflected in reality and Kat quickly sunk to the bottom of the pool. Lily was much less annoyed when she realised why Kat had moved her. [Wait… so what this only works because you think it should?]

Kat gave matching mental and physical shrugs as she swam back to the surface and spread herself out once again. It took a little bit of trial and effort but soon she was in that half relaxed state and back to floating on the water. Kat didn't even bob when Lily jumped back to her spot on Kat's stomach. *Yeah it does seem that way. Not sure if that's how it should work or how much my wings matter but that can be tested some other time. It's… interesting to note that's for sure.*

The pair continued floating for another ten minutes, just relaxing with each other before Lily brought something up. [Do you think Posey is a ghost?]

*What?*

[Like… maybe not a ghost, ghost, but I don't think she's a real elf.]

*I feel like my eyes would've seen through any disguise and she seemed real enough when we were talking to her.*

[See… not quite sure I agree with that second part. And I'm not saying she doesn't look like an elf… but I'm wondering if she's either a construct created by the original architect, a new one, or like… actually a ghost that was given form? Maybe a ghost that was hired by the original guy?]

*Didn't Eleanora say the architect died or went missing? And didn't she say it's under new ownership?*

[Yeah but she might've just been told that. Like… come on. She didn't react at all to the fact she had spiderwebs all over her hair and ears! Her ears Kat!]

*I feel like I'm missing something. I mean… I doubt it's true but it's interesting to speculate at least so I'm happy to keep going. Just… what am I missing here?*

[Elf ears are super sensitive. They can hear a lot and have a really good ability to detect like… specific directions of sound. Not sure what that's called but I bet elves can basically echo-locate. That means they have to have a bunch of nerves in them! And she was just letting a spider crawl next to her ears and stuff! That's like… super weird!]

*Wait… erotic elf ears are real?*

[What? No… well… maybe? For Marigold definitely but like… um… it's like our tongues maybe? They have a bunch of nerve endings in them but you don't get sexual pleasure from playing with them. In fact, I'd bet having your ears touched is a major risk… though hm… maybe that would make it sort of erotic? More in that 'I'm letting you touch my ears' sort of way then in a 'this feels really good' type of way?]

*I'll take your word for it.* Kat thought back smugly.

Lily mentally spluttered. [Kat! It's not like I'd know! Stop laughing!] Kat's snickering did eventually stop… but not for a while. [Urgh. Fine whatever. My point was no elf would allow that. I think?]

*So you main argument is because she wasn't sensitive about her ears?*

[I guess so, but there's also the fact that she just wasn't bothered by anything, she seemed to know her way around the hotel even better then me and I could sense how the space was woven together somewhat. Then there's the fact that she never really changed tone when speaking and while she did say if she was off shift someone else would see us… I'm not sure how much I believe it.]

*I mean… she could just be super powerful like Thyme? Maybe she's actually the secret architect in disguise and is pretending to be an employee for shits and giggles.*

[Hmm… I guess if they had healing proficiency maybe? I mean… her boobs looked real…]

*I bet they did.*

[Dammit Kat! You make it sound like I was just staring at her tits!]

*No you won't. Despite being the one in physical pain, it'd hurt you a lot more than it would me.*

[Ok fine. I won't but still. Can you not?]

Kat gave a mental shrug back while she was grinning. The pool was nice and relaxing and it was fun to mess with Lily like this. Sure Lily was letting her have her fun, but she was enjoying it too so there was no hard feelings anywhere. *So… you think she's not what she seems but it's mostly conjecture?*

[Well… I didn't want to bring it up but she feels… almost a little too normal to my senses? Like… instead of properly blending in she almost feels like a 'nothing strange here' sign? It sets my instincts on edge a bit. I didn't want to fight her or anything but it felt like if we WERE to fight I'd lose for reasons I can't understand. That and she might have a better understanding of space than me. Which means she should be at least Rank 1 because I doubt mortals can sense space. At least, not elves anyway.]

*Certainly an interesting way of looking at it… do you think she'd tell us if we just asked?*

[Maybe? I'm not sure if I'd actually want to know. I mean, what if the golem/construct angle is correct and she has a thing in her programming preventing her from talking about it or trying to eliminate the person who figures it out? Or maybe even self-destructs?]

*I doubt we're the first people to think of this is the place has really been around so long… but if you're actually worried? We could always try and find some other staff and see if they're just as weird as her. It might not be conclusive but it should be something right?*

[Hmm… yeah I suppose so. How do we FIND other staff though? I don't want to be a nuisance and ring at a bunch of odd times of the night.]

*Well we could just request food, or heck, we could wait till the others request stuff, make note of it, and then request something ourselves after six or twelve hours. That or just camp out in the entrance hall… though there might be more than one of those?*

[Oh there's definitely multiple. I could tell that much before we walked through the door. Well… multiple places the front doors go at least. I suppose they might not all be receptionist desks.]

*So… what do you think is most likely?*

[Not sure. I don't think golem is actually all that likely. I bet she's either a secret power house or like… a ghost that's possessing a fake body that makes her seem alive.]

*Are ghosts even real? Did we ever have that established?*

[No… D.E.M.O.N.S?]

Depending on the dimension and the concentration of higher energy inside it is quite possible for ghosts to exist.

*Seems pretty conclusive. Wait.. can you tell us is THIS dimension has ghosts?*

User Kat does not her permission to requisition the necessary resources to perform such a check. No prior user made specific note finding such an entity so far.

*Boo…! What a cop-out answer!* Even still, it wasn't enough to dampen Kat's mood. She was content to keep floating for some time yet.
