“Mom, I’m fine now.” Bai Jingqing withdrew his gaze and walked out of the dining room, inviting his mother and brother into the living room to sit.

When Bai Jingqing turned his head, his mother noticed the gauze on his forehead, “What happened to you? How did you get hurt?”

“It was a minor car accident, nothing serious. The fever was due to the wound on my forehead and a bit of cold. It’s already receded now.” Bai Jingqing took a seat.

Hiding in the kitchen, Bai Qianqian’s heart jolted. Bai Jingqing was injured because of a car accident, but when did he have a car accident?

“Guests? What guests? Where are they?” His mother turned around to look.

Bai Qianqian, hiding in the living room, peered around. She bit her finger harshly and dared not even breathe hard; her body was tense and cold sweat was continuously exuding. She was in a position to be discovered at any moment.

She prayed that Bai Jingqing could quickly send his mother and brother away.

“Brother Ye was here, but he left before you arrived.” Bai Jingqing casually replied.

“Really? Brother, you and Brother Ye seem quite close.” Bai Ruiqing said with a smile, a teasing tone in his voice.

“Brother Ye? Jingqing, you never get a girlfriend. Could it be that you like…”

“Mom, what are you thinking? I like women!” Bai Jingqing shot a glance at his brother.

Bai Ruiqing shrugged his shoulders innocently. He couldn’t help frowning slightly as he sensed a familiar scent in the air.

“If you do like women, then find a girlfriend to put my mind at ease!” Bai’s mother spoke up.

“Mom, Ruiqing, you both have had a look around. I won’t keep you for dinner. I have the night shift at the hospital.” As Bai Jingqing thought of Bai Qianqian hiding in the kitchen, he gently helped his mother up.

“Brother, you seem so rushed. Is there a secret you don’t want us to know about? Could it be that my future sister-in-law is here?” Bai Ruiqing felt his brother was acting somewhat out of the ordinary.

“Stop spouting nonsense, you. Get Mom home quickly. We can’t leave Dad home alone.”

Bai Jingqing practically escorted his mother and brother away. After closing the door, he paused for a moment before quickly returning to the kitchen.
