Chapter 514: Xavida's Earnest Request
Two days after the destruction of Ulvar, a small makeshift campsite and fortress now stood, made from rocks, wooden poles and the remains of the old outer wall.
Asura wanted to fly straight to the capital, and bombard it with flames.
However, the moment he saw Xavida's expression. The worry in her eyes, concern as her lips trembled slightly and her arms shuddering with anticipation that her revenge might finally be ending. He dropped such a selfish thought.
'That's right, although he caused damage to Silvara… the bastard also tore Xavida's family apart.'
He watched her pacing up and down, sometimes gazing at him. Asura could almost feel the air trembling from her unstable aura.
The faint memories of the past, from his previous life when all he could do was read and research. Asura came across rumours that her mother's death wasn't suicide. Rather, it was because of the same man who now coveted his niece.
"Xavida." Asura gently beckoned his dragon lover, lowering his hips to sit on a broken piece of the wall.
"Darling, what's wrong?"
Xavida would always run to him if he called. Even when upset and on the brink of collapse. Asura couldn't help but reach out and stroke her soft cheek, squeezing her squishy flesh.
"Come, sit beside me."
"Mm."
Her warm body pressed against him, her slightly swollen stomach hidden under a fluffy black robe, a drastic difference to her previous outfits that exposed her belly. Asura couldn't help but wrap an arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him.
'She's so warm, and her scent is a little deeper than before.'
Asura narrowed his eyes, resting his chin on her head, enjoying her fluffy hair brushing against his cheeks.
"Are you worried?" Continue reading stories on empire
"I…" Xavida's lips trembled slightly, her head shifted, and she gazed up at Asura when suddenly his hand stroked her stomach, spreading warmth from his gentle touch. "It's frustrating that everything seems to be coming to an end and I haven't done anything."
The tone of her voice was lower than usual, without her vibrancy and instead gloomy, but her lips still curled into a half smile.
'She's trying to stop me worrying, oh Xavida.'
Even though she already laid her first eggs, he couldn't help but be concerned after reading more about dragons in the library and during his time in the elven continent.
"Do you want to have revenge on him, for what he did?"
'How many more little Xavi's are inside here?' Asura wondered, stroking her slightly tough and hard stomach with his hand, able to feel the slight flicker of aura from her belly. Almost as if the eggs ready to hatch were resonating with his vital energy.
Xavida's eyes shone the moment Asura asked if she wanted revenge, but then when his hand started to pour vital energy inside her body.
His energy warmed her body and she could sense that it would keep their future children safe. So, her expression became brighter and the slight crease between her brows vanished.
"Hehe, Asura~ that tickles, my stomach feels strange."
"I know what happened, so don't hold back…" Asura's arms slowly wrapped around her body, the soft pink scales of Xavida growing a deeper shade from her emotions. "If you need to cry, you can cry, if you want to fight, I will fight with you."
"A-Asura…"
He didn't know all the thoughts in her mind, and no longer tried to do so. Instead, Asura just wanted to be there for Xavida. No, for all his future wives.
His goals now included making Silvara grow as a nation, building a bridge to the continent of elves, and to defeat Freyja. Because, for the longest time, he mistook his feelings and mixed up his goals and desires.
Although he loved his women, enjoyed the time with them.
That wasn't his goal, but something he just loved doing. For the longest time, he acted as if that was all he had in life.
However, Asura came to realise thanks to their affection and love that supported him, helped him realise his goals should be grander and more about himself. Things like teaching his daughters how to swim, how to fight, read and growing older.
Marriage, and developing his territory.
There were many things he rushed and neglected due to his immaturity and acting like it was something he needed to do.
"Whatever you choose, or want to do, I will support you. Just like you supported me in the past."
Asura's hands cupped Xavida's cheeks, stirring the feelings of when they started growing close. He could hear her two hearts beating faster and faster like a concerto of drums. He wanted to observe everything.
The way her eyebrows furled, eyelashes flickered, and her lips twitched.
"Even… Even if I do something evil, and kill that man?" Xavida's tone rarely became serious in the past, but since she became a mature dragon, Asura noticed her changes and growth. Her playful side didn't vanish, but instead became more tame and her eyes more expression.
"If you do something evil, then I will share the burden with you."
Xavida's shoulders shuddered, her eyes sparkling like gemstones in the moonlight. "I won't let you take it back, now is your chance to run… Asura."
"How could I run, you are the mother of my children? Haha, if we're going to hell, then I will escort you with my finest ability."
Asura's deep voice enveloped her body, like a pair of soft hands stroking, caressing her as Xavida's body shuddered, her cheeks and scales turning deep pink. Her eyes closed as his deep and charming voice resounded in her ears.
"Have you forgotten, I am a Monarch of the Abyss."
Xavida's twin hearts thumped harder, creating a sensation like her chest might pop. She could not stop the sudden hormones as she covered her blushing face, normally a faint white or silvery pink. Now they were dark, almost the colour of a pink rose. "Idiot!"
"Haha~ Xavida Bahamot I am a fool for you. What more can I say?"
Asura didn't care if he became cheesy or looked funny according to others, when the woman in his arms smiled like Xavida did. He no longer cared about his image, or strength, making them smile and feel secure was worth any shame.
"Idiot, idiot… what are you doing, making me cry?"
"Aha, don't cry, my little dragon." His thumbs brushed along her cheeks, swiping the leaking tears, as she grasped onto his wrists tightly.
"Then, give me more~ I want even more children with you, to grow old together and never part."
An earnest request, despite knowing in his mind he would never leave her. Asura realised people needed sometimes needed to hear confirmation or be given a concrete promise to help make them feel secure.
"How can I make you believe me?"
"Hmph~ for now, just kiss me."
She looked away, the soft scales along her cheeks pulsing with a deep pink shade, while her eyes narrowed with a wide grin on her face.
"Kisses are a good start."
"Good, then… come closer, and give me what I desire. As many as you can." Her hand raised, flicking back the loose strands of glistening hair that had been impeding her eyesight.
"I can't refuse."
Xavida felt like she was being teased by a gentle, yet deep tone, the sound of her partner. "Why are you so annoying, just kiss me!"
Asura smiled in return.
He didn't know how long his life would be. However, the one thing he understood was that he wished for it to be spent with them.
"Then, close your eyes, Xavida." Asura gently placed a finger under her chin, guiding her lips towards him. Her pink lips shone, moistened by her long tongue. The two didn't break eye contact as they slowly became one.
"Mn…"
Xavida's body trembled slightly as he held her, kissing her softly. She had already been kissed before, but this was different.
It wasn't the kiss of someone desperate or filled with a heat to breed.
However, an entirely new feeling, an embrace that caused the dragon to wrap her arms around him.
'After all… I really love this foolish man. He makes everything feel like it was meant to be.'
She had no intention of stopping kissing, her mind becoming blank from his soft and tender touch. As if time stopped in a moment that could have lasted a lifetime, the two parted and their gazes remained connected as Xavida panted.
"Haa… Asura… please help me to overcome my past."
An earnest wish, her desire kept hidden and protected. Memories of her father falling apart because of what happened to her mother poured through their minds as she shared everything.
The vision of a small girl watching in clips as her uncle caused their demise, breaking their bond, causing them to doubt each other.
Then, before they could confirm their feelings, her uncle made his move and her mother and father could never be together again.
He was not only the man she loved and the one who made her feel like she was not alone; he was her strength.
So Xavida couldn't stop herself as her tongue slipped across his lips, as if to entice him with her trembling body. Filled with a desire, she'd not felt since the day she laid the first eggs.
However, it was different this time, and she could finally ask him honestly, without hiding her feelings of shame, fear, and loneliness.
"Would you kiss me again? Let me feel that everything is okay, that we will avenge my parents."
