Digital Emperor (Naruto X Digimon)

Chapter 68: Chapter 68

As the night settled over the city, Naruto continued his leisurely walk, hands tucked into his pockets, his thoughts drifting toward the future.

A clone had already taken care of Na So Ri, ensuring she was safely transported to his hotel room. He didn't linger on that situation for too long. She would wake up when she was ready, and he had already given her enough to think about.

Now, his mind was occupied with something far more important—his team.

He had plans, clear and ambitious ones.

He wanted a Metal-type Digimon—a sturdy, heavily armored warrior that could withstand powerful attacks and dish out destruction in return. A Digimon capable of defending allies and crushing opponents.

He needed a Demon-type Digimon, something powerful, chaotic, and unpredictable. A being that could harness dark energy to counter the threats that conventional tactics couldn't handle.

A Plant-type Digimon was also on his list. Many overlooked them, but their regenerative abilities and status-inflicting attacks could be game-changers in battle. He would find one that could complement his team's growing synergy.

For water-based combat, an Aquatic Digimon was a must. Speed and versatility were key, especially for battles that required control over both land and sea.

A Celestial Digimon would be essential, too. Holy power had an advantage against many dark forces, and having one on his side would ensure he had the means to counter them.

And then there was the Armament-type Digimon. He had taken a particular liking to RaijiLudomon—an exceptional warrior whose higher evolution was an absolute fortress. A perfect balance of attack and defense.

Naruto wasn't looking for just any Digimon. He wanted a balanced, unstoppable team that allowed him to operate solo when necessary.

The reality was that his team wouldn't always be together. Everyone had their own paths to follow, their own challenges to face. If he wanted to remain strong and independent, he needed the right partners by his side.

And unlike most Tamers, he had the ability to make it work.

Even now, his friends were still surprised that he had acquired Rambo so soon. It hadn't even been a month since his journey started, and yet he had already bonded with a new Digimon.

Most Tamers didn't get a second Digimon until their first reached Champion-level. It was common practice to wait four to six months before even considering another partner.

There was a reason for this.

Bonds took time to develop. Bringing in a second Digimon too soon could divide attention, weaken connections, or even cause jealousy. Not every Tamer was suited for handling multiple Digimon at once—it required deep communication skills, emotional intelligence, and leadership.

But Naruto had no doubts.

He knew he could do it.

His plan was simple: within the next month, his Digimon should have reached Champion-level. Once that happened, he would acquire his next partner, most likely another Champion-level Digimon.

The only thing left was deciding where to go next and which Digimon to pursue.

For now, his next destination was the Desert of the Upside-Down Pyramid—a dangerous place filled with mystery and powerful Digimon. He wasn't planning on going deep inside, just scouting the outer regions.

Still, he had to be cautious.

He kept an eye on the latest news and updates, making sure there weren't any unexpected dangers lurking in the area.

The morning started with Na So Ri joining them for breakfast. She looked more refreshed than ever, her usual wariness replaced by a strange sense of peace. It was a different feeling—one she wasn't used to.

Her dreams had been pleasant, unlike the usual paranoia-filled nightmares. She realized that constantly living like a venomous snake had made her believe that others were just like her, ready to betray her the moment she let her guard down.

But now, for the first time in a long time, she felt safe.

Well, almost safe—if not for that blonde stud playing with her heart and body.

When it was time to leave for work, Naruto sent her off with a kiss.

Her whole body burned with frustration. She wanted to scream.

He was making her starve for his affection, and there was nothing she could do about it.

If anyone else had dared treat her this way, she would have already moved on to another man. She wasn't the type to get played.

But this was different.

No one else was even a tenth of him, and what made it worse was that he would know.

He always knew.

That terrifying awareness, that impossible understanding—she didn't even want to think about how he did it.

And so, she had no choice but to endure.

She didn't want to be thrown away.

She hated this feeling of helplessness, but what else could she do?

With Na So Ri off to work, the team returned to their normal routine—training in the morning before heading into the city to unwind.

For the first time in weeks, they decided not to go looking for fights.

They had been battling nonstop since arriving in the Digital World, and with the upcoming Desert of the Upside-Down Pyramid expedition, they needed to relax and recover.

The team's day of fun included:

Watching a movie at the theater.

Playing arcade games and challenging each other.

Participating in a rookie-level race, where Naruto's Digimon got a chance to test their speed.

Visiting a Water Park for some much-needed fun.

Everything was going great—except for Asura sulking in his Digivice.

Being a fire-type, he couldn't join in the fun at the Water Park like the others. Seeing his new brother enjoying himself while he was stuck inside made him even more miserable.

Just as he was about to resign himself to his fate, Naruto threw him into the water without warning.

Everyone panicked, but then they remembered something important—

Asura could just cloak himself in chakra, meaning he wouldn't boil the water or burn anyone.

The sadness vanished instantly, replaced by mischief.

With an evil grin, Asura took revenge on everyone who had laughed at him earlier.

What followed was an all-out water war, filled with chaos, laughter, and destruction.

It was the most carefree fun they had experienced since arriving.

During the week, Naruto also made progress in another area—building connections.

He had become closer to the Digimon at the Legend Arms shop, where many of the Armament-type Digimon gathered.

He also made friends in various places the team frequently visited, from restaurants to training grounds.

This experience had been different from his usual adventures—it wasn't just about fighting, but about understanding the world and the people in it.

With the day coming to an end, the team mentally prepared for their next challenge—the Desert of the Upside-Down Pyramid.

It was a dangerous place, filled with powerful Digimon and hidden mysteries.

While they weren't planning to venture deep inside, they still needed to be cautious.

For now, though, they enjoyed the calm before the storm.

It was another peaceful day when Naruto sat down in the park, enjoying some rare downtime. He didn't expect anything unusual to happen, but as he sat there, a group of four Digimon approached him.

Their presence immediately stood out, and anyone familiar with the Digital World would instantly recognize them.

The Journey to the West Digimon.

Naruto's eyes glimmered with recognition as they came into view. The four Digimon before him weren't just any normal group—they were known throughout the Digital World for their remarkable abilities and unique personalities.

Cho Hakkaimon

The first one to step forward was a feminine Digimon clothed in a pig costume. Cho Hakkaimon had once been a Celestial-type Digimon but had been banished by Ophanimon after committing a crime. Despite its banishment, Cho Hakkaimon maintained an optimistic, cheerful personality, though it had the tendency to turn ferocious when hungry.

Its weapon, Rocket Rake, equipped with boosters, gave Cho Hakkaimon tremendous superhuman strength, making it formidable in battle. However, the Digimon was on a journey of self-reformation, hoping to change its destructive side and control its hunger.

Sagomon

Beside Cho Hakkaimon stood Sagomon, a Demon Man Digimon. Sagomon had been banished from the Celestial Gates of the Digital World and ended up on North Bridge Island. Though it had a cheerful and joking nature, it harbored a dark secret: it had nine skulls wrapped around its waist, and if one was lost, it would transform into a terrifying beast.

Sagomon's weapon, the Monster Subduing Treasure Staff, was capable of devastating destruction, making it a terrifying foe when pushed to its limits. But deep inside, Sagomon was troubled by an existential question: "What am I?" It sought answers through its journey, hoping to discover its true purpose.

Gokuwmon

Next was Gokuwmon, a Beast Man Digimon born from the boiling magma of Boot Volcano. Gokuwmon was known for its combat prowess, constantly seeking strength and engaging in battles with formidable opponents. It wielded the Nyoikinkobou, a versatile weapon that could extend to strike from a distance, fire lightning bolts, and serve as a cannon.

Though it had a craving for battle, it had a serious limitation: due to the Kinkoji placed on its head by Sanzomon, if Gokuwmon swore excessively, it would pass out from the pressure. Still, it was a skilled fighter, representing the legendary Sun Wukong, a symbol of strength and defiance.

Sanzomon (The Leader)

Finally, the leader of the group emerged: Sanzomon, a Monk Digimon with a serene and attractive presence. Sanzomon was a Super Ultimate Digimon, known for its strength and wisdom. It was on a journey of enlightenment, having overcome numerous trials and imposed asceticism on itself.

What made Sanzomon so unique was its ability to unleash techniques without weapons, relying on the power of sutras and the purified energy stored in its Digicore. It was said that anyone who stole this energy would acquire immortality—an enticing but dangerous prospect that drew greedy Digimon.

Despite being pursued by such individuals, Sanzomon also attracted Digimon seeking answers and truth. It was revered by many as a spiritual guide, and its presence often led others to reflect on their own journey.

The Journey to the West Digimon were an interesting sight—Ultimate-level Digimon, but each one of them surpassed the typical standards of their class. Gokuwmon was capable of fighting Mega Digimons, and its potential to evolve further was a mystery to everyone, except perhaps Yggdrasil.
