Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: Awakening the Inner Energy

In one corner of the sect, there was a small residence designated for new disciples. It wasn't spacious or luxurious—just a simple room with four slightly cracked walls and a worn-out wooden bed in the middle. There were no decorations, no extra furniture, only a small table in the corner.

On the bed, Liang Chen sat cross-legged, his eyes closed as if he were deep in meditation. His body had undergone a noticeable transformation since arriving in this world. Now, he appeared to be around ten years old, having rid himself of the malnutrition he had previously suffered. His skin looked healthier, his features more vibrant, yet he still seemed frail compared to others his actual age.

Before his eyes, the mysterious blue panel appeared, displaying the analysis of the Blood Technique he had studied.

Blood Technique has been fully analyzed: 100%

As soon as these words appeared, knowledge flooded into his mind as if he had practiced the technique hundreds of times. This was no ordinary technique—it relied on the heart and blood vessels to store and transfer inner energy, unlike most techniques that stored energy in the lower abdomen and distributed it through designated meridians. This unique trait granted the technique remarkable properties.

Then, the details of the technique's levels and their benefits appeared before him:

First Level: Inner energy flows through the blood vessels, helping cleanse the body of impurities, enhancing reaction speed, and improving the five senses.

Second Level: Accelerates blood circulation, granting the user faster recovery compared to ordinary techniques.

Third Level: Increases the quantity and quality of inner energy, amplifying the effects of the first and second levels.

Fourth Level: Develops a sixth sense similar to a beast's ability to predict danger.

Fifth Level: Greatly enhances all previous abilities.

Sixth Level: Grants the ability to absorb blood from surrounding beings to accelerate recovery, but it carries the risk of bodily and mental corruption. (Warning: Only use in emergencies!)

Liang Chen stared at the listed benefits in contemplation, pondering the strength of this technique despite it being classified as a mid-tier one. If these were the effects of a technique at this level, how powerful would the higher-tier techniques be? Would he one day be able to train in such techniques or even use them as a reference to develop his own?

Yet, despite his curiosity, he decided to set these questions aside for now. What occupied his mind at this moment was the warning attached to the sixth level. Bodily and mental corruption? He wasn't entirely sure what that entailed, but he knew he had to be cautious.

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and began his training. He guided his inner energy according to the instructions recorded in the technique, attempting to make it flow through his heart and blood vessels. His first attempt was disastrous; he failed to control the energy, and it quickly scattered. The second attempt was slightly better, but he still couldn't complete a single energy cycle. Despite this, he refused to give up.

Hours passed, and gradually, he made progress. The third cycle was completed, then the fourth, then the fifth. He had lost track of time, continuing his training until he suddenly realized that the night had passed and the sun had risen.

When he tried to stand up, he felt his body exhausted and drained, his stomach growling in protest. Yet, when he looked at the blue panel, his eyes gleamed with excitement:

Blood Technique – First Level: 50%

He could hardly believe it! He had reached half of the first stage in just one day. According to his instructor, even geniuses required at least a year to reach this point, yet he had done it in a single night! His joy was indescribable—until suddenly, a foul odor hit his nose.

Looking at his body, he found a layer of black, sticky filth covering his skin. Only then did he understand. These were the impurities expelled from his body as a result of the Blood Technique's cleansing effect.

He rushed to the mirror, seeing his reflection—his face was pale from exhaustion, but he looked noticeably cleaner and more refreshed than before. He smirked. "Looks like I need a bath before anyone sees me like this."

Without hesitation, he headed toward the bath, determined to clean himself up and start another day of training.
