Divine Harem: My Sect of Heavenly Beauties

Chapter 256: A Chance

Shen Yu didn't know how to feel about Li Xue, who he had created out of nowhere. So, he put those thoughts aside and teleported to the Senter Valley base.

Upon reaching there, he was left dumbstruck by the number of people he was sensing. It was so big that the Senter Valley base was actually expanded to give them room.

It now covered the whole Senter Valley, making it look like a country of its own. At Ying Yue's request, he had added that feature, and now it was being used. More than two billion people were living here for the time being.

Shen Yu was baffled at the sheer scale of it and also the population. After all, back on Earth, it would have been the most populated country, but it was nothing much here.

The population only consisted of slaves across the Empire who were now free people. They were like any other person in the region with the freedom to do anything.

Shen Yu directly went towards the underground base where he could sense the aura of three Nascent Soul Realm Cultivators.

As he appeared in the room alongside his wives, without their masks this time, the three stood up and knelt on one knee. Shen Yu nodded his head and gestured for them to stand up.

Then, he sat on the head table while his wives sat on his sides, as he asked.

"So, what do you think of those people?"

Understanding that the question was directed at him, the former slave, Xu Ming, sighed and said.

"They're a bunch of pitiful beings. Even if you give them freedom, they won't understand it properly, Master. It's like those beasts who had always lived in cages being released in the wild."

He turned to look at his sides, his eyes seeing something distant.

"They feel awkward as the life they had lived until now was snatched away from them. Even if it was cruel, that was all they had seen and experienced. It'll be tough to turn them into proper humans again."

He clenched his fists and said.

"But if you can give me this opportunity, Master, I swear on my Xu Bloodline that I will not disappoint you. I will change them from their every muscle and turn them into proper humans who know the value of freedom. I can't promise that they'll all be good and live peacefully, but I'll try my best to establish a place where they can belong."

Shen Yu smiled and nodded. He was really worried that Xu Ming would be affected by someone else's words. But it seemed he was already thinking logically and of his future.

He was happy with the progress.

"That's a good decision. I'll give you the chance to repent the atrocities you've committed on them. I was planning to shift everyone to an island up to the north of the Empire and let them establish a nation. The leaders would be chosen by them, so it's not something I'll interfere with. But they need someone to lead at first, so that's going to be you."

Shen Yu patted his shoulder and said.

"From now on, Xu Ming would be the Overseer of Freedom Country, okay?"

Hearing that, Xu Ming's eyes got teary as he dropped on his knees and said, while trying to contain his tears.

"I'll be eternally grateful to you, Master. I cannot put my feelings into words, but know this, I will never let you down. The responsibilities you've given me, I will shoulder them all."

Shen Yu chuckled and said.

"Good! Now, stand up. A leader shouldn't cry like that, you know. Also, you can seek help from the Shadow Garden if things go wild, which I'm sure they will. And last thing, I'm sure there will be corruption in your government, it's inevitable, but deal with it as quickly as possible."

"Understood!"

Shen Yu nodded and then turned towards Vanish and Stone, who were still looking around as if they had stolen someone's food.

"Why are you two being so awkward? It's not like I came here to eat you two."

Vanish exclaimed and averted her eyes. Then, she answered after realising she was disobeying her master.

"It's nothing, Master. We just don't know what our value is or what our job is. Shadow Garden is already pretty low in number, so I am also thinking we can recruit some of those free people."

Shen Yu heard everything and then said.

"Shadow Garden will always be one of my hands as I'll need you all a lot. So, don't worry about it. As for you two, I have forgiven you, and from now on, you're my true subordinates."

Vanish smiled widely as she was going to kneel, but Shen Yu stopped them. He also stopped Stone, saying.

"You can just take my orders normally. Once in a while is fine, but not every time you have to kneel."

Shaking his head, he continued.

"As for your other question, it depends on those people. We'll let them live on that island for a while, and then you can ask if they want to join your organisation."

After they nodded, Shen Yu turned towards Lan Ming and asked.

"I feel like I'm missing something..."

Lan Ming quickly answered.

"It would be better if you address them personally. I'm sure they're curious about who saved them and all. It'll create a good image and also let them know that someone like you exists, so they don't need to worry about being enslaved again."

"Good one!"

Shen Yu smiled, and then made a screen appear across all the places the people were gathered. Then, he checked his face and activated the free live stream he had thought of.

Instead, thousands upon thousands of screens appeared before everyone in the Senter Valley, displaying Shen Yu sitting on his chair with a warm look on his face.

Everyone was confused, but they knew one thing. The being was powerful and could help them to find a purpose. Although Vanish had let a rumour spread which basically told the details of Shen Yu and his doings.

So, of course, the audience was interested in the man before them.

Clearing his throat, Shen Yu began his speech.
