Douluo Dalu: My System Is Dissastified

Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Conflicts Erupt

"The Nine Heart Cats team wins."

As the host announced the result, the crowd erupted into applause.

Ye Feng stepped in front of Zhu Zhuqing, stretched out his hand, and lowered his voice. "Zhuqing, we won."

"Mm."

Zhu Zhuqing gave a small nod. She glanced at Ye Feng's outstretched palm, hesitated for a second, then finally high-fived him.

"Let's go register." Ye Feng said.

"Okay."

Zhu Zhuqing was as cold as ever, like an unapproachable ice queen. No matter what Ye Feng said, she always kept her words to a minimum. But Ye Feng knew her well. She might be quiet and aloof, but beneath that icy exterior was a warm heart. She cared deeply for her companions, and when danger struck, she wouldn't hesitate to stand by their side.

As they walked, Ye Feng kept glancing at Zhu Zhuqing while absentmindedly touching the bracelet on his left wrist.

Noticing his gaze, Zhu Zhuqing finally spoke. "Boss Ye, is there something you want to say?"

Ye Feng quickly dropped his hand and smiled. "Nah."

He had originally planned to give her an immortal herb that could lighten her body and enhance her speed. The herb was a rare treasure capable of boosting a spirit master's cultivation. But with Zhu Zhuqing currently stuck at rank 27, she would soon hit a bottleneck. Without obtaining her third spirit ring first, the medicinal effects would be wasted.

Ye Feng decided to hold off until she reached rank 30.

Back at the Arena

After Zhu Zhuqing and Ye Feng's match, it was time for Shrek Academy's group battle. Since Ye Feng had already reached the Spirit Ancestor level, he didn't participate.

Later that night, Ye Feng arrived at the gates of Soto City and saw his teammates waiting. He turned to Xiao Wu and asked, "Where's the Dean?"

"The Dean said he had business at the store, so he left early." Xiao Wu paused, then placed a finger on her lips. "But he looked really happy when he left."

"Really?" Ye Feng raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah." Xiao Wu nodded.

Ye Feng smirked to himself. The Great Spirit Arena was a hotbed for gamblers, and knowing Flender, he had probably placed some big bets on their matches. Considering how strong their team was, he had likely walked away with a fortune.

The man had probably ducked out early to enjoy his winnings in peace.

"Alright then… let's head back." Ye Feng said.

"Okay!" Xiao Wu agreed.

"You guys go ahead, I got something to do," Oscar suddenly announced.

Xiao Wu tilted her head. "What is it?"

Oscar grinned mischievously. "Girls shouldn't ask too many questions." He then winked at Ma Hongjun.

Ma Hongjun scoffed. "I ain't going. You and Brother Dai go by yourselves."

Oscar stared. "What the hell? Fatty, did you suddenly grow a conscience?"

"You're the one who needs a conscience. I already have Cui, A'luo, Yanyan, Huamei…" Ma Hongjun started listing names, then added proudly, "I promised Boss Ye and the teacher—I gotta be responsible for my girls."

Oscar snorted. "Fine. How about you, Second Brother Dai?" He turned to Dai Mubai.

"Just take it easy," Dai Mubai said vaguely.

Oscar narrowed his eyes. "Wait, you're not coming either?"

Dai Mubai hesitated, his mind flashing back to the twin sisters he used to spend nights with. A heat rose in his chest, but when he glanced at Zhu Zhuqing, he saw her icy gaze locked onto him. It was like a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head.

He clenched his jaw. "No."

Oscar clicked his tongue. "Tch. Coward."

"Fuck off! Unlike you, I actually have standards." Dai Mubai snapped.

Oscar scoffed. "Hmph. Whatever, man. No need to be so aggressive." With that, he turned and disappeared into the bustling streets of Soto City.

As Zhu Zhuqing walked past Dai Mubai, she muttered something under her breath. Though it was too quiet for most to hear, Ye Feng could make out the words.

"Filthy."

"Disgusting."

Dai Mubai's face twisted with rage. "You… you stop right there!"

Zhu Zhuqing completely ignored him and walked straight towards the city gates.

Dai Mubai's hands balled into fists as he trembled with suppressed anger.

Ye Feng shook his head. "Alright, let's go back."

"Boss Ye, you sure you don't wanna go out for some fun?" Ma Hongjun nudged him.

"Not interested." Ye Feng replied flatly.

"Boss Ye, be honest with me…" Ma Hongjun leaned in closer and whispered, "You've never been with a woman before, have you?"

His voice was low, but Xiao Wu, Tang San, and Ning Rongrong still heard it.

"Yeah," Ye Feng nodded.

Ma Hongjun's eyes widened. "Wait, for real? You're still a virgin?"

Ye Feng raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't I be?"

Ma Hongjun stammered. "I mean… you're rich as hell and not exactly young anymore. I just figured…" He trailed off before suddenly exclaiming, "Damn, you're just like Tang San—cold-blooded when it comes to women!"

"Fatty, if your idea of 'having heart' is sleeping around, then you're dead wrong." Ye Feng said coolly. "It's not that I don't want women—it's just that not every woman is worthy of being mine."

Ma Hongjun blinked in surprise.

Even Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong, who had been quietly listening, were momentarily stunned by his words.

Confrontation

By the time Ye Feng, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, Ma Hongjun, and Tang San caught up to Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, the tension between the two was boiling over.

"Zhuqing, what the hell is your problem?" Dai Mubai growled.

"Don't touch me." Zhu Zhuqing's voice was sharp and cold.

"You think you can just ignore me? Have you forgotten who I am?" Dai Mubai demanded.

Zhu Zhuqing shot him a glare filled with disdain. "Filthy."

"You—!"

Dai Mubai lunged to grab her arm, but Zhu Zhuqing effortlessly sidestepped, slipping out of reach.

Everyone around them fell silent.

Dai Mubai's face was livid with rage. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Ye Feng simply watched from the sidelines, his expression unreadable.
