Chapter 108: Chapter 108
Chapter 108: Chrysanthemum Douluo vs. Dugu Bo
After the incident with Tai Nuo, Ye Feng, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Liu Erlong spent their time in Tiandou City, enjoying themselves until the afternoon. Eventually, they left and headed toward Shrek Academy, located outside the city.
As they walked between two mountains, Liu Erlong suddenly stopped, her expression turning serious. A strong wave of spirit power pulsed from the nearby woods.
"Titled Douluo?" Liu Erlong muttered, eyes narrowing.
"What? A Titled Douluo?" Ning Rongrong gasped, immediately becoming alert. While she could sense the powerful fluctuation, she wasn't skilled enough to determine the level of the spirit master causing it.
Ye Feng didn't hesitate. "Let's check it out." With a single step, he launched himself in the direction of the disturbance.
Liu Erlong reached out, trying to grab him. "Ye Feng, no! That's a Titled Douluo battle!" But her fingers grasped at empty air. Grinding her teeth, she chased after him, unwilling to let him rush into danger alone.
Ye Feng had a strong feeling about who was fighting. In Tiandou City, there was only one Titled Douluo—Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo. As for the ones outside the city, there were many: Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, Yu Yuanzhen of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, and six hidden Titled Douluos from the Clear Sky Sect. If Tang Hao was included, that made ten.
But right now, the only ones likely to be fighting were Dugu Bo and Chrysanthemum Douluo. Because of Ye Feng's interference in the original timeline, Dugu Bo had never grown close to Tang San, meaning he lacked the hidden weapons that could have helped him. If he really was up against Chrysanthemum Douluo, it was going to be rough for him.
Before Ye Feng and the others reached the battlefield, a voice echoed from the clearing ahead—sharp, eerie, and mocking.
"It's been ten years. Have you finally accepted your fate?"
Another voice, cold and full of disdain, answered. "Ten years ago, you and that old ghost chased me to the brink of death. Now that we meet again, it's time to settle the score!"
"Settle the score? Haha! Who was the one running for his life just a moment ago?"
"Tch."
"Old Poison, just be smart about this. If you join Spirit Hall, wealth and power will be at your fingertips. Even your granddaughter will receive the best training in the Spirit Hall. Why keep fighting us?"
"We walk different paths. I'd rather die than submit."
Chrysanthemum Douluo sighed, shaking his head. "If Prince Xue Xing's patrol troops hadn't interfered back then and forced me and Ghost Douluo to retreat, you wouldn't even be standing here today."
Dugu Bo sneered. "Then I guess I was just meant to live!"
Chrysanthemum Douluo sighed. "I'll ask one last time—will you join us?"
"Enough bullshit. Let's fight!"
Realizing there was no reasoning with him, Chrysanthemum Douluo summoned his spirit, the Strange Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. Nine spirit rings surrounded him—two yellow, two purple, and five black.
Fifth Spirit Skill: Gathering of Cold Heroes!
The Strange Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum's petals scattered in the air, forming a whirlwind of golden blades that rushed toward Dugu Bo.
Dugu Bo weaved between the attacks, dodging the deadly storm. But each time he evaded, Chrysanthemum Douluo forced him to expend more stamina.
Dugu Bo knew that if this continued, he'd eventually be overwhelmed.
Third Spirit Skill: Jade Phosphor Enchantment!
A poisonous green mist erupted from him, blocking Chrysanthemum Douluo's vision. Seizing the opportunity, Dugu Bo flashed forward, throwing a powerful punch.
Thanks to Ye Feng's guidance, Dugu Bo had learned to control his poison better and had improved his physical abilities. Even against a spirit master three levels stronger, he was holding his ground.
The two clashed fiercely, poison meeting golden petals in a deadly dance of power.
Jade Phosphor Serpent King's Venom!
Golden Stamen Sky Storm!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions shook the forest as their spirit skills collided. Dugu Bo, determined not to lose, infused his Medusa Skull Bone with all his venom. The reaction intensified the toxicity to a terrifying degree.
Chrysanthemum Douluo's eyes widened. "Your poison… It's stronger?"
Dugu Bo smirked. "Damn right."
Chrysanthemum Douluo scoffed. "So what? Even if your poison has improved, the gap between our spirit power is still there. I am a level ninety-five Titled Douluo!"
For spirit masters, once they reached Titled Douluo, every level difference became an enormous gap. A three-level difference was nearly insurmountable.
Medusa's Gaze!
Dugu Bo unleashed his strongest attack, trying to paralyze his opponent.
But Chrysanthemum Douluo's ninth spirit ring flashed ominously.
Ninth Spirit Skill: Withered Chrysanthemums, Wounds All Over the Ground, Heartbreak!
Petals filled the air, swirling into a tornado of destruction. His attack clashed with Dugu Bo's Medusa's Gaze, generating an earth-shaking explosion.
The aftermath devastated the surrounding forest. But when the dust settled, Dugu Bo was left bloodied and defeated, unable to withstand the gap in raw spirit power.
Chrysanthemum Douluo stepped forward, looking down at him. "I'll give you one last chance. Will you join Spirit Hall?"
Dugu Bo spat blood on the ground. "Go to hell."
Chrysanthemum Douluo sighed. "Then I'll grant your wish." He raised his hand, spirit power gathering once more.
Bang!
A gunshot echoed through the clearing. Chrysanthemum Douluo flinched, his spirit skill dispersing. A sharp pain seared through his right palm, and he looked down to see blood dripping from it.
"Who the fuck dares to attack me?!" he roared.
A calm voice answered. "Me."
Ye Feng landed beside Dugu Bo, standing with an air of casual confidence.
Dugu Bo wiped blood from his lips, shocked. "Little monster, what the hell are you doing here?"
Ye Feng smirked. "Heard a commotion and thought I'd take a look."
Chrysanthemum Douluo glared at Ye Feng. "This is Spirit Hall business. You want to die, kid?"
Ye Feng simply raised his pistol, resting it casually against his shoulder. His lips curled into a cocky grin. "If anyone's dying today, it sure as hell ain't me."
Chrysanthemum Douluo sneered. "You think that little toy can hurt me again?"
He was right—now that he was prepared, Ye Feng's pistol alone wouldn't be enough. But Ye Feng didn't seem worried at all.
