But alas, this was a super ferocious beast with two hundred thousand years of cultivation.

To say nothing else, its tough skin and thick flesh were undeniable. The previous attack, which had enough power to penetrate nearly a kilometer of seawater, had only managed to create a wound on its brain. Bluish-purple blood gushed out from the injury.

The Many-Eyed Squid Emperor, which had been enjoying itself just moments ago, now flailed all its tentacles wildly. It was easy to imagine how excruciating the pain from that attack must have been.

But this pain quickly transformed into an overwhelming rage, akin to a volcanic eruption. All of the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's eyes locked onto Ye Wen, flashing intensely as hundreds of purple beams converged toward him.

Facing this onslaught, Ye Wen showed no fear. Activating his fourth soul skill, Inner Void, he entered a semi-ethereal state and rapidly closed in on the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor.

Having lived for countless millennia, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor naturally recognized this type of soul skill. It immediately ceased its previous wave attack and unleashed a soul shockwave filled with fury and killing intent.

This soul shockwave was far from the earlier minor skirmish—it even caused distortions in space.

A sharp pain pierced Ye Wen's mind, but the intensity wasn't as terrifying as he had imagined. He inwardly rejoiced—his hypothesis was correct.

The Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's spiritual level was inferior to his own.

Seeing its signature move fail, a strange sense of fear welled up within the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor.

How long had it been since it last felt such fear after becoming the dominant force in this stretch of ocean? Instinctively, it wanted to flee.

Without dragon lineage or the honor-bound concepts of human society, the reason it had survived so long and reached its current level of cultivation was due to its primary instinct: cowardice.

If you can't fight, run. There's no shame in it—survival is the ultimate truth.

However, its massive body hindered its escape speed.

What it once prided itself on—its physical strength capable of crushing spirit beasts of similar size—now became a burden.

The Many-Eyed Squid Emperor instinctively tried to flee at top speed, but under the constraints of physics, it could only slowly descend. In those few short seconds, Ye Wen had already descended to face it.

The urgency of life and death grew stronger. The Many-Eyed Squid Emperor had no choice but to unleash its trump card.

Murky Domain—forcibly twisting the flow of surrounding space to disrupt the enemy.

Though the domain had been activated, at this distance of less than ten meters, it held little significance. Moreover, Ye Wen's attack inherently represented spatial attributes, making this akin to wielding an axe before Lu Ban himself.

"Sixth Soul Skill: Spatial Oscillation."

An unadulterated attack shattered the effects of the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's domain instantly. A powerful tearing force manifested across its body.

As a quasi-Soul Sage, Ye Wen's physical capabilities far surpassed what they once were. With the ability to withstand 200,000 jin of force, his Spatial Oscillation had undergone a qualitative leap.

The wound that had already been bleeding uncontrollably cracked open further, spreading across its entire body. After a brief struggle, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor tore itself apart.

But a two-hundred-thousand-year-old spirit beast truly deserved to be called a ferocious beast. Even in this state, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor didn't die immediately and still struggled to escape.

"What tenacity! Its body has been severed into two parts, yet it still has the strength to attempt an escape.

If not for the interference of the gods in the divine realm, this Douluo Star would truly belong to these spirit beasts, leaving humanity with no chance to rise."

Even as these thoughts crossed Ye Wen's mind, his hands moved swiftly.

He condensed soul power in his palm and hurled it directly at the exposed brain of the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor, causing it to explode.

Creating wave-type self-invented soul skills wasn't difficult—it merely involved releasing soul power. As long as one trained deeply in climbing trees and walking on water, mastery over soul power naturally improved. In the original manga, Xiao Wu, at the level of a Soul Elder, created a technique called "Rabbit Shockwave."

This final blow extinguished any remaining life in the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor. Its massive body twitched instinctively, devoid of consciousness.

A crimson soul ring, representing the growth through slaughter of a ten-thousand-year-old spirit beast, coalesced in the air. Two golden stripes adorned it, signifying its status as a two-hundred-thousand-year-old entity.

Though this battle appeared to be overwhelmingly in Ye Wen's favor, the primary reason was that the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor lacked experience fighting humans.

If it had unleashed its Murky Domain at the very beginning, Ye Wen wouldn't have been able to approach it. Moreover, ethereal-type soul skills weren't permanently active—they came with time restrictions. Relying on its immense soul power, it could have simply overwhelmed Ye Wen with sustained firepower, preventing him from getting close and eventually exhausting him.

Unfortunately, in battle, there are no "ifs." Losing meant utter defeat.

The most crucial aspect of this battle was Ye Wen's initial Overclock·Red attack, which stunned the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor and threw its responses into disarray. Additionally, the battle lasted only a few dozen seconds, leaving the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor no time to react. Combined with the suppression of its abilities, its defeat was inevitable.

As the battle concluded, Ah Yin and Misael slowly descended.

Misael's eyes were filled with admiration. She couldn't believe that Ye Wen, a mere Soul Sage, had defeated a ferocious beast that even her clan leader couldn't overcome.

Ah Yin, on the other hand, was somewhat bewildered. Wasn't she supposed to provide cover? Yet in just a few moves, Ye Wen had taken down a two-hundred-thousand-year-old ferocious beast. Didn't it care about its dignity? How brutal.

Due to the frequent release of high-level techniques, Ye Wen's energy was somewhat chaotic. After a few deep breaths to stabilize his internal fluctuations, he said:

"Ah Yin, please set up a platform to protect me while I absorb the soul bone. Then help me extract it—I'm going to absorb the soul ring."

A two-hundred-thousand-year-old soul bone was worthy of Ye Wen's absorption. Absorbing it now would significantly enhance his physical capabilities and mitigate the energy surge from absorbing the soul ring later.

However, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's soul was currently in its most chaotic state. While absorbing the soul bone could wait, the mental battle was the most perilous part.

With a wave of her delicate hand, Ah Yin summoned a massive platform composed of Blue Silver Emperor grass, which appeared on the surface of the sea.

Sitting at the center of the platform, Ye Wen began to draw in the soul ring.

As always, the massive energy of the soul ring surged violently into Ye Wen's body, continuously strengthening his physique and unlocking the long-sealed limits of his physical potential.

The absorption of the soul ring was successful, but soon after came the immense grudge of the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor—a stark contrast to the residual soul oscillations of ten-thousand-year-old spirit beasts.

In its complete soul state, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor was inherently attuned to spiritual attributes, launching relentless mental attacks within Ye Wen's mind.

Ye Wen didn't rush to confront the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor head-on. Instead, he used his formidable spiritual power to form a shield, constantly defending against the assaults.

As a deceased entity, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's soul power was like rootless duckweed.

Under Ye Wen's relentless defense, the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's attacks grew weaker and gradually dissipated. Seeing an opportune moment, Ye Wen launched a counter-soul attack from a distance, shattering the remnants of the Many-Eyed Squid Emperor's soul.

"Beasts are beasts—they rely on instinct to fight," Ye Wen remarked with a shake of his head.

When the absorption of the soul ring was complete, Ye Wen's consciousness returned to reality. Opening his eyes, he felt a sharp pain in his forehead. A silver vertical eye was embedded there.

"What's going on?"

A new field of vision unfolded before Ye Wen, leaving him momentarily disoriented.
