Douluo: I’m Totally a Support Type… Probably

Chapter 58: Maid

After the dust had settled, Wu Lan stood without a scratch, while Qian Renxue knelt on one knee, wiping away a trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth.

She was feeling the backlash of having her Seraphim Spirit Avatar damaged.

But she didn't care about that. Her gaze locked on the boy who had taken her strongest attack head-on and defeated her without so much as a single injury.

Am I that weak?

No, she had fought countless life-and-death battles and emerged victorious every single time.

While Qian Renxue was lost in self-doubt, Wu Lan noticed her injury. He opened his domain and quickly healed her.

The warm sensation brought her out of her daze. She felt her wounds mending at remarkable speed and realized Wu Lan was healing her.

Before she could say anything, he spoke with a playful smile.

"From now on, you are my maid."

Only then did she remember Wu Lan's condition for their battle. Her face flushed crimson, embarrassment flooding her.

"Brother!"

Hearing Xiao Wu's voice, Qian Renxue quickly turned away, not wanting Xiao Wu to see her flustered expression.

Soon, Xiao Wu and Zhuqing rushed over, checking Wu Lan for any injuries.

Finding none, they both sighed in relief, their eyes practically sparkling as they looked at him.

Wu Lan had just defeated a Soul Saint without taking a single hit.

They were proud.

The man they had chosen was strong.

While they admired him, Xiao Wu suddenly recalled Qian Renxue's earlier attempt to take Wu Lan away. She turned to Qian Renxue with a smug look.

"Vixen, my brother won. So he's not going with you."

Hearing this, Qian Renxue didn't feel anger, only sadness. She had gained nothing and lost Wu Lan, along with her friendship with Xiao Wu and Zhuqing.

Trying to take Wu Lan away from them was the most hurtful thing she could have done to them.

She felt disappointed in her own selfishness. If she had simply left without making such demands, she might have kept friends with whom she could be her true self. But now… she had ruined it.

As for becoming Wu Lan's maid, she knew her identity and responsibilities would make it impossible. Her grandfather and the others would never allow it.

While Qian Renxue was blaming herself, Xiao Wu noticed her lack of response and was about to speak again, but Wu Lan spoke first.

"Renxue."

Hearing her name, she came out of her thoughts and looked at him.

"Are you leaving?"

His straightforward question caught her off guard. She hesitated, then nodded.

"Yes. I need to take care of the tasks my family assigned to me."

Wu Lan thought for a moment. She had already been gone for a month without informing anyone. Sooner or later, her grandfather would send Title Douluos to find her. Either way, they would meet again in the capital.

"Alright, then go. Take care of yourself."

Qian Renxue blinked.

He was letting her go so easily?

Did he… not care?

Not even a trace of reluctance?

A strange pang twisted in her chest.

Does he not like me?

Am I not… beautiful enough?

For the first time in her life, she doubted her own charm.

"Wu Lan, are you letting me go just like that? Aren't you worried I won't come back?" she asked, wanting to know.

"I want you to finish whatever tasks your family assigned you. And since you haven't contacted your family for a month, they must be worried about you." Wu Lan paused, then wore a confident expression and continued,

"As for worrying that you might not come back, escaping from me is impossible."

Qian Renxue froze, her lips parting slightly at his words.

That unshakable confidence… it wasn't arrogance, it was certainty.

She tried to suppress the strange heat rising in her cheeks."Hmph… Don't be so sure of yourself," she said, turning her head away. But even she could hear the lack of conviction in her voice.

Wu Lan only smiled, his eyes carrying that same teasing glint. "You'll see."

"Oh, by the way, since you're my maid, you should change how you address me," he added teasingly.

Hearing this, Qian Renxue turned bright red and shouted,"Impossible!"

"Oh? Are you going back on your word?"

She wanted to slap herself for betting on the fight. Since she had promised, she had no choice but to bite the bullet. Gritting her teeth, she whispered,"Ma… master."

Wu Lan pretended not to hear."What was that? Did you say something?"

Qian Renxue knew he had heard her and was just toying with her, but she glared at him and shouted,"Master!"

"Very good," Wu Lan praised happily, clearly satisfied to hear those words from Qian Renxue.

Hearing his praise, she felt happy for some reason.

Xiao Wu and Zhuqing couldn't stop laughing at Qian Renxue's embarrassment.

Seeing this, Qian Renxue with dark face decided to leave immediately and ran toward Soto City.

Watching her retreating figure, Wu Lan called out,

"Blonde, we'll meet very soon!"

Hearing the nickname he'd given her, Qian Renxue stumbled mid-step.

She clenched her fists, fighting the urge to run back and punch that idiot.

But she couldn't beat him.

"Idiot!"

So she shouted it instead, running faster to avoid hearing any more of Wu Lan's embarrassing words.

Wu Lan chuckled at her parting insult and continued on their journey.

As they made their way toward the next village, his gaze lingered briefly on the path she had taken, the corners of his mouth lifting ever so slightly.

Meanwhile, far away, Tang San was basking in the limelight.

After Wu Lan's group had left, Yu Xiaogang accepted Dai Mubai, thanks to Wu Lan's actions, and Ma Hongjun, thanks to Flender's persuasion, as test subjects for his so-called research. Under his methods, the two became as obedient as trained hounds, helping Tang San and pushing him toward the top.

Mubai suffered the most. Yu Xiaogang demanded more and more money for Tang San's resources and his own experiments. Mubai clenched his teeth until they ached, finally sending a letter to his father begging for funds.

Both he and Ma Hongjun swallowed their pride, bowing to Yu Xiaogang as if he were a king and to Tang San as if he were a crown prince.

Oscar could only stare, speechless. He kept his distance, cautious and wary, afraid of ending up on the wrong side of their vengeance. Instead, he focused on following Ning Rongrong, determined to win her affection, all while pretending not to notice there actions.
