Chapter 614: 614

The next moment, Su Ming's body emitted faint green light, bright in the nighttime. The women and the Seven Sacred Pillars assumed he was simply cultivating, so they didn't think much of it.

Feeling the changes within, Su Ming was thrilled. Had the system finally given him the "Markless Healing" ability from the Thousand Hands clan? Could the Sage Body be next? It seemed like the system was finally starting to drop some serious perks.

Except for upgrades directly related to his Wood Shield, he felt little excitement from the system's rewards these days—he'd accumulated almost everything he needed. Now, his priority was to clear the Life God Trials, advance his spiritual realm, and eventually awaken the Rinnegan.

A month passed quietly. During this time, Shui Bing'er, Huo Wu, and Dugu Yan successfully reached level 60. Just then, Bo Saixi arrived, handing each of them a God-bestowed spirit ring. The three accepted them but set them aside since they already had spirit rings from Su Ming.

Xiao Bai approached Su Ming, resolute, and said, "Su Ming, I'm ready. I've gathered all of my people; we're prepared for a fight to the end."

Seeing Xiao Bai's determined face, Su Ming chuckled, "With me here, I promise you won't lose a single one of your kin."

Ning Rongrong and the others chimed in with encouragement, "Yeah, and with my support, they'll be even safer!"

With everything in place, Su Ming climbed onto Xiao Bai's back, while the others each mounted a Devil Spirit Great White Shark as well. Before setting off, Su Ming handed each of them a spirit-guided gun, fully charged and ready to handle any ordinary Devil Orca that might appear.

On the way to locate the Devil Orca tribe, Su Ming pondered the implications: by eliminating the Devil Orca King now, would he be removing one of the Sea God's later trials?

In the past month, he hadn't been idle; he'd healed every injured soul master and beast he could find on Sea God Island. Yet, even with his efforts, he had only helped around a thousand, plus another five hundred that Xiao Bai brought back from the sea. He was still short by 8,500.

Seeing Xiao Bai's gathered clan, he felt a bit of a letdown; they numbered only around 500. "Xiao Bai? You only have a few hundred clan members? I thought you'd have thousands!"

Su Ming's tone was tight with frustration, and Xiao Bai, sensing his irritation, looked puzzled. "Yes, why? When we fight the Devil Orca King, my clan will inevitably suffer injuries, and with your healing, we should easily hit the thousand mark you need, right?"

Su Ming sighed, realizing the misunderstanding. "Who told you the healings could be cumulative? My trial requires healing different soul masters or beasts, no repeats. Even if I healed every one of your clan members once, it would only count as 500."

Xiao Bai, realizing her mistake, grew anxious. "What should we do then?"

"There's no other way," Su Ming said. "Once we've defeated the Devil Orca King, I'll need to head back to the mainland to finish this."

The numbers just wouldn't work with Xiao Bai's 500 and the Devil Orca tribe's 300 or so. Xiao Wu and the others noticed Su Ming's concern and reassured him, "Su Ming, go back to the mainland. We'll be safe here on Sea God Island."

He hesitated, still uneasy, then thought of Bo Saixi. As long as she wasn't influenced by the Sea God's power, her strength, combined with the elder's martial fusion technique, would protect Xiao Wu and the others. Su Ming decided to confront Bo Saixi after the mission. Considering the benefits she had already gained from him, surely she'd lend a hand. And, if anything, he doubted she would sacrifice herself for a stranger, especially given her own desire for godhood.

"Xiao Bai, can you locate the Devil Orca King's position?"

"Of course!" she said, a bit smug. "If I couldn't even do that, what kind of queen would I be? As long as we're within 50 miles, I can smell them. No other sea beast compares to a Devil Spirit Great White Shark in scent."

Fifty miles—about 25 kilometers—was well within range. It should be enough to detect the Devil Orca King, though it would fall short if they encountered a million-year beast like the Deep Sea Demon Whale King.

Teasingly, he asked, "So, Xiao Bai, what if you got within 50 miles of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King? Think you could handle it?"

Xiao Bai gave him a withering look. "Su Ming, keep those thoughts to yourself. The Deep Sea Demon Whale King isn't someone a Devil Orca King or I could provoke. His strength supposedly nears a million years, and he rules a vast territory. Anyone stepping into his domain would be detected instantly; my sense of smell would be useless."

Su Ming chuckled. "I'm just saying. I know you two aren't a match for him. Otherwise, the Sea God wouldn't have only managed to blind him in one eye during his ascent to godhood. He would've killed him outright."
