Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Qian Renxue Takes the Initiative
Su Ming and Qian Renxue left the Hall of Worship together, walking side by side in silence. For someone as experienced as Su Ming, he found himself uncharacteristically flustered, lending a slightly awkward air to the moment.
Of course, he still held Qian Renxue's hand as they walked.
"Xiao Xue, when did you start having feelings for me? Honestly, I thought, with so many women already by my side, you'd…"
Qian Renxue replied calmly, "Do we really need reasons to like someone? And, I'm older than you; you should be calling me Sister Xue."
Realizing his lapse in respect, Su Ming grinned, "Nah, I think 'Xiao Xue' has a nice ring to it. Feels more intimate."
As he squeezed her hand a bit tighter, Qian Renxue let it be, asking instead, "What you mentioned earlier… do you think it's really possible?"
Su Ming nodded, "It should be. My eyes give me access to spatial soul abilities, and I'm well-versed in creating space talismans. By carving the right runes onto that small figure, long-distance transmission could actually work."
Although he could use traditional teleportation talismans, they relied on the blood of high-level space soul beasts, making them costly and hard to produce in quantity. Instead, he planned to deepen his understanding of this world's spatial principles to make it work—though he knew it wouldn't be an easy task. Thankfully, Qian Renxue still had many trials to complete.
"Xiao Xue, you completed your fourth trial already, right?"
"Mm-hmm," she nodded. "I received the notification just now. The fifth trial is to withstand a duel with each of the six High Priests for the time it takes to burn an incense stick."
"Well, that should be easy," Su Ming teased. "They're all basically your grandfathers. I'm sure they'll go easy on you."
Qian Renxue shook her head firmly, "No, I want to do it on my own strength. No one should hold back on me."
Su Ming paused, realizing that a real, non-spared duel with the priests would be quite a challenge. Then it hit him—compared to most, the High Priests of the Angel Temple were exceptionally powerful. Aside from Qian Daoliu and Bo Saixi, they far outmatched the Seven Pillars of Sea God Island.
"And what about you? What's your fourth trial? If it's easy, you should finish it quickly. We have no idea how far along Tang San is with his trials."
Su Ming stopped in his tracks, a bit uncomfortable about how to explain. Seeing his hesitation, Qian Renxue became curious. "Why are you so shy?"
Clearing his throat, Su Ming leaned in and whispered the contents of his trial to her. The tickle of his breath made her blush, and as he revealed the details, her face grew redder.
"What…? Is this Life Goddess even a respectable deity?" she muttered, giving Su Ming a slightly aggrieved look as she grew flustered.
With a serious look, Su Ming reassured her, "Don't worry, Xiao Xue. I won't pressure you. We have six months to finish this trial. Let's just take our time, deepen our bond, you know?"
"No," she cut him off, her cheeks glowing as she argued, "Every minute counts in cultivation. We can't waste six months just because of one trial. We… let's just do it now. It's only an incense stick's worth of time. I can handle it!"
They locked eyes, the early dawn casting a serene light over them, filling the air with an unmistakable sense of closeness.
Su Ming gently released her hand, placing both hands on her waist to draw her close. Qian Renxue's beautiful face was tinted with a delicate blush as she closed her eyes, her long lashes trembling.
Moving closer, Su Ming could feel her warm breath, like a soft breeze, stirring something deep within him. As their lips met, a gentle, electric thrill coursed through them.
The kiss was tender and heartfelt, their breaths blending together. Slowly, Su Ming's hands moved with a comforting firmness around her waist, pulling her closer, while his right hand caressed her cheek. Qian Renxue, initially rigid, soon relaxed, wrapping her arms around Su Ming's neck.
Time slipped away, and the burning of an incense stick seemed so short. Lost in each other, they forgot everything, focused only on the warmth of the moment.
As they finally pulled apart, Qian Renxue's gaze held a sparkle, a new, unexplainable sensation flowing through her. "Su Ming… this feeling… Is this what love feels like? I… I want to…"
Her voice grew softer with a hint of shyness.
Su Ming looked into her eyes, realizing that she was in a daze of affection. Without another thought, he lifted her up, their figures disappearing as they left together.
Back in the Hall of Worship, Qian Daoliu chuckled, "Those two just couldn't wait, could they? Really, they should've gone a bit farther. Guess us old guys will just have to give them space."
Golden Crocodile Douluo laughed, "Well, the trial might have been set by the Life Goddess, but Xiao Xue was more than willing. Looks like Su Ming's bound to the Spirit Hall for good now."
The other priests, smiling, nodded in agreement, and, some even wiped a tear from their eyes, glad to see Qian Renxue find someone to love at last.
