Douluo: Seven Asuras

Chapter 28: Chapter 28 – Celestial Body Refinement

Near the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Chen Feng sat cross-legged on the ground, calmly regulating his breathing.

Faint blue strands of light spiraled around his body. The closer they approached his brow, the more brilliant and sacred the glow became—like divine light bestowed from the heavens.

As he continued absorbing the medicinal essence, the power granted by the Autumn Water Dew eventually fused completely with his eyes.

"Swoosh—"

The moment Chen Feng opened his eyes, a sharp beam of blue light shot out like sword qi. A mighty surge of spiritual power erupted in an instant.

A rock over fifty meters away was pierced clean through and exploded into fragments—shattered completely!

"Kid! What the hell are you doing? That's a hell of a commotion!"

Not far off, Dugu Bo had been meditating, refining his soul power, only to be jolted by the explosion. He'd thought a soul beast had attacked—only to realize it was just Chen Feng causing trouble again.

Dugu Bo was stunned for a moment. He saw that Chen Feng's eyes had turned completely blue-gold, and even after releasing that powerful burst of spiritual energy, a dazzling glow still shimmered in his eyes. For a brief moment, even Dugu Bo—a Titled Douluo—feel a stabbing pain in his pupils and was forced to look away.

"You brat… did you cultivate Fire-Gazing Golden Eyes?" Dugu Bo asked sideways.

Chen Feng let the light fade from his eyes and calmly replied:

"Are you alright, Senior Dugu? I didn't control my sight just now."

"Pfft, what are you saying? You think a Titled Douluo like me would get hurt by a little Soul Elder? I just looked away 'cause your eyes were shining like twin suns, that's all."

Dugu Bo huffed and sniffed, still a bit shaken.

That blue laser beam from earlier had genuinely made him feel threatened. Its spiritual force was probably already on par with a Soul Sage.

Chen Feng smiled in satisfaction and rose to his feet.

As he had expected, the Autumn Water Dew had directly elevated his Sword Dao Heavenly Eye to the Minor Completion stage. And not just barely—it had stabilized within the realm!

He casually glanced into the distance. Without even using soul power, he could see a spider on a tree 800 meters away, spinning silk into a web.

But the Autumn Water Dew's effects didn't stop there. In addition to the explosive spiritual boost, Chen Feng could feel his soul power become denser and purer. Though it hadn't increased dramatically, he had advanced from the early stage of Level 37 to the peak, now only a step away from reaching Level 38.

Dugu Bo called over at just the right moment:

"Kid, don't forget why you're here. You're not just here to power up—you still owe me and my granddaughter a cure!"

Chen Feng rolled his eyes.

"Relax, I'm right here. What, are you worried I'll vanish? You could just kill me if it comes to that."

Dugu Bo was speechless.

"Kill you? As if! If I laid a finger on you, that old bastard Chen Xin would come for my life. And besides, would killing you magically cure our poison?"

"Exactly, so how about you be patient?"

Chen Feng chuckled and resumed his search.

Before long, a second rare plant appeared—not far from the well. Entirely jet black, it had only two leaves.

The area surrounding the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well was rich in celestial herbs. Before it had been discovered, everything had grown wild and naturally. After Dugu Bo arrived, he'd unknowingly ignored many precious plants simply because he couldn't recognize them, leading to a scenario where priceless herbs were everywhere.

Chen Feng suddenly glanced at the medicine patch Dugu Bo had personally cultivated. Most of the original plants had been cleared by the old man—had he thrown out actual celestial herbs, mistaking them for weeds?

"I *#@¥%—" Chen Feng cursed silently.

Upon close inspection, the second herb was identified: Netherworld Yellow Spring, a highly toxic plant found not far from the Fragrant Silk Beauty.

Once again, the age-old saying proved true: All things are mutually reinforcing or counterbalancing—Yin and Yang give birth to one another.

Though extremely poisonous, Netherworld Yellow Spring was a vital ingredient in the "poison-for-poison" method and the core medicinal herb for curing the Emerald Phosphor Serpent Emperor toxin.

This method had originally been developed by Tang San and Yang Wudi, the master pharmacist of the Tang Sect's Medical Hall. Yang Wudi's achievements in pharmacology even surpassed Tang San's, and he had refined this cure into a more potent and faster-acting version.

With gloved hands, Chen Feng carefully used his soul power to extract the herb. Even so, a black poisonous mist began to spread rapidly, visible to the naked eye.

He quickly retrieved a silver container from his Twenty-Four Bridge Moonlit Night, sealed the herb inside, and finally exhaled in relief.

"Hey, old poison bag, stop rushing me. You want a cure, don't you? Then let me gather the right materials first. If you're so free, how about you get a large cauldron ready and prepare some firewood?"

Chen Feng needed an excuse to keep Dugu Bo busy. The old guy was just too noisy otherwise.

Dugu Bo, realizing it was for the antidote, eagerly complied. Soon, he wheeled out a cauldron half a man tall from his residence.

"Use water from the Ice and Fire Well," Chen Feng instructed.

"Boil it for three days and three nights, and keep the heat steady."

That said, he turned to continue searching for more herbs.

Dugu Bo's eyes bulged.

"Boil plain water for three days? Is this kid messing with me?"

Still, with no other options, Dugu Bo obediently followed instructions.

Finally, peace.

Before long, several more celestial herbs were found:

Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass

Infernal Delicate Apricot

Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum

Indeed, Chen Feng was preparing for body refinement!

Unlike the physical training he'd undergone during his six years in Soul Hunt Village, this time he would be using the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well itself as the furnace—and the two opposing extremes of ice and fire to remold his constitution.

Since he didn't have Xuan Tian Gong, he opted to use Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum as the stabilizing agent.

This herb, originally meant for Dai Mubai, granted indestructible golden flesh. More importantly, its neutral properties allowed it to harmonize the extreme Yin and Yang energies of the other two herbs, reducing the risk of violent rejection or damage to the meridians.

Once everything was prepared, Chen Feng first consumed the Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum and waited for the medicinal effect to take hold. Then, without hesitation, he swallowed the other two herbs simultaneously.

Strangely, the moment the icy cold and blazing heat energies met, they didn't clash. Instead, they canceled each other out.

Chen Feng knew this was the critical moment.

If he hesitated now, the effects of the two herbs would neutralize each other and vanish. He had to refine them immediately.
