Douluo: Seven Asuras

Chapter 32: Chapter 32 – Departure and the Search for Teammates

Old poison geezer, don't forget what I told you—remember to use that soul bone to draw the remaining toxins into it. If not, those stubborn residual poisons might still be enough to kill you in a critical moment.

As they parted ways, Chen Feng gave Dugu Bo a final reminder.

He then pulled out over a dozen pre-prepared medicinal packets and tossed them to him.

"These are for your granddaughter. Her condition is much lighter—she just needs to take one every three days."

Dugu Bo sighed.

"Alright. You've got a promising future ahead of you. You shouldn't be wasting time in a place like this. I won't keep you. But don't forget to visit me once you're back."

Chen Feng nodded, then asked one last time,

"By the way, about the competition… have you decided not to let your granddaughter join my team?"

During their time together, Chen Feng had explained the upcoming Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament to Dugu Bo more than once. But every time, the old man had brushed it off, saying he'd think about it, never giving a clear answer.

This would be Chen Feng's final attempt.

Dugu Bo hesitated, then said,

"To be honest, I'd love to let Yan Yan join your team. But you have to understand—I'm an honorary guest of the Heaven Dou Empire. I can't just do something that undermines the Royal Academy."

"Besides, that brat Yu Tianheng and my Yan Yan are… a bit entangled. If she leaves the Royal Academy team, that kid might not stay either. It'd be a mess, and could affect their tournament performance."

Chen Feng thought to himself: Performance? What performance?

Spirit Hall, Shrek Academy, and my new team—those were the top three contenders. Heaven Dou Royal Academy? Kindly take a number and wait for your turn.

Of course, he didn't say that out loud.

Seeing Dugu Bo decline again, Chen Feng nodded without pressing further.

After all, his original intent had only been to earn goodwill and access the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well. Helping Dugu Bo detoxify was already more than enough return.

To Dugu Bo, resolving the inherent flaws of the Bi-Phosphorus Snake Emperor spirit was worth more than anything else.

Atop the towering cliff that enclosed the valley stood a tall, straight figure with his hands behind his back—Sword Douluo Chen Xin.

As agreed before parting, he had come to escort Chen Feng home.

From afar, Dugu Bo gave him a nod, and the two Titled Douluos exchanged a silent greeting.

On the way back, Sword Douluo couldn't help but comment,

"You brat… It's only been two months, and it feels like you've grown a lot."

Chen Feng chuckled.

"You might not know this, but near Dugu Bo's herb garden is a sacred land for cultivating immortal herbs. I consumed four such immortal herbs there. My body now? Practically reborn!"

"Oh? A place that miraculous?" Sword Douluo raised a brow. "Then tell me—what's your current level? Don't tell me you're finally ready to hunt your fourth spirit ring..."

Chen Feng grinned.

"Actually... I'm already a Soul Ancestor."

"What? Soul Ancestor?!"

Sword Douluo staggered.

"Dammit, what the hell did you eat? Don't tell me you used something that forcibly boosts cultivation!"

That kind of rapid advancement… it was too fast—fast enough to raise serious doubts.

Chen Feng reassured him.

"Relax. They were all genuine immortal-grade herbs, completely beneficial and harmless to the body. I'd never risk harming my foundation."

"Besides, I didn't just eat those herbs. I also brought quite a few back—one of them is especially suitable for Rongrong. I'm sure it'll be a pleasant surprise for everyone."

He was referring, of course, to the Beautiful Silk Tulip.

In the original timeline, Ning Rongrong had broken through the seven-layer limit of her martial spirit thanks to this herb, allowing her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to evolve into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.

Back then, it was Tang San who had delivered it—but now, that person was Chen Feng.

"You sly little rascal," Sword Douluo narrowed his eyes. "But I'm warning you, don't mess around. Rongrong is Fengzhi's only daughter, and both Old Bone and I watched her grow up. If anything happens to her, I won't be able to protect you."

Chen Feng confidently declared,

"Don't worry, Grandpa Sword. I promise, not only will Uncle Ning not blame me—he'll probably thank me!"

Sword Douluo looked even more confused.

"What exactly are you planning to give her?"

"Secret~" Chen Feng teased.

"Hmph! Even keeping secrets from your Sword Grandpa?"

"Hehe. You'll find out soon enough."

The two bantered as they walked.

A few days later, they returned to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.

Ning Rongrong wasn't there—Shrek Academy had already relocated to Heaven Dou City, merging with Liu Erlong's Blue Tyrant Academy, while keeping the name Shrek Academy.

She was currently training hard with the rest of the Shrek Seven Devils, whose growth had skyrocketed. All of them were now at the Soul Elder level.

Among them, the eldest, Dai Mubai, was already approaching the peak of Soul Elder.

Chen Feng did a quick calculation.

Judging by the timeline, Tang San should be meeting Dugu Bo any day now…

Thankfully, I got to the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well first. Let's see what Tang San can do without those herbs now!

Chen Feng stayed at the sect for a few days. Once their informants brought back some useful intelligence, he parted ways with Ning Fengzhi and set off once again.

His first stop: tracking down Yu Tianlong, the candidate Sword and Bone Douluo had previously recommended.

As a member of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Yu Tianlong had the qualifications to be a powerful teammate.

Though he had been injured by Yu Tianheng and Yu Tianxin in a family trial—his spirit roots damaged—Chen Feng had brought immortal herbs with him.

If ordinary treatments couldn't heal him, surely these could.

Pisno City, a small border town in the Heaven Dou Empire.

Following the coordinates provided by Sword Douluo, Chen Feng arrived at this remote settlement.

According to intelligence gathered by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, after being expelled from his clan, Yu Tianlong had hidden himself away here, earning a living by fighting in underground spirit arenas.

By dusk, and with the help of sect informants, Chen Feng found his way to Pisno City's underground arena.

To be clear, underground didn't mean physically below ground. It meant illegal, unlicensed, unregulated, off-the-record.

Entry required two things:

Proof of wealth, and

The purchase of an expensive membership.

In short, no money, no entry.

Luckily, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect just happened to be the wealthiest sect on the continent.

Money? They had plenty.

Under the dim lighting at the entrance, two burly spirit masters stood guard. Every guest was required to present their membership credentials.

Some people tried to slip in amidst the crowd, but those who did were quickly dragged away by men with special authority. Their punishment would likely be… painful.

Chen Feng wore a long black cloak, and the shadows cloaked his face, adding to the mystery around his age and identity.

"First time visiting a place like this… I assume this is enough for a ticket?"

Without pausing, he casually tossed a heavy pouch onto the table.

The spirit master handling registration frowned.

The minimum deposit was three thousand gold spirit coins. That little bag looked way too small.

But the moment his hand touched it, his body trembled.

He quickly opened it… only to find it filled with brilliant, multicolored gemstones.

Jackpot.

His heart leapt with glee.

As he watched Chen Feng disappear into the arena, his eyes gleamed with greed. He discreetly waved over a subordinate and whispered something into his ear…

Inside the underground arena, a massive poster was plastered on the wall.

It showed a tall, powerfully built young man—muscles bulging, drenched in blood and sweat. He held a golden championship belt high overhead, his expression fierce and dominating.

Chen Feng glanced down at the corner of the poster.

A familiar name was printed there in bold:

Yu Tianlong.
