After flying for most of the morning, Lin Yongming finally landed in a secluded valley to rest and have lunch. He took the time to recover his spirit power before continuing his journey at two in the afternoon.

As dusk approached, Lan Yinhuang, the Blue Silver Emperor, spotted vast fields of farmland stretching across the horizon.

"Xiao Ming, we're almost there! I can see a city in the distance," Lan Yinhuang exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

Beyond the farmland stood their destination: Soto City, renowned as the "Granary Capital" of the Barak Kingdom. The city was surrounded by endless fields, making it a vital hub for the kingdom's food supply. As such, Soto City was not only a major economic center but also a heavily guarded stronghold, second only to the kingdom's capital.

Lin Yongming and Lan Yinhuang descended from the sky, landing about a hundred meters away from the city gates in an empty area. The sun had already set, leaving the sky painted in deep shades of twilight. After tidying up their wind-swept appearances, they made their way to the city entrance.

At the checkpoint, Lin Yongming presented his identity as a spirit master from the Wurto Town branch of the Spirit Hall, along with his official spirit master handbook. The guards allowed them to pass without issue.

"Xiao Ming, Soto City is so lively! It's so much more vibrant than Wurto Town," Lan Yinhuang remarked, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the towering medieval-style castles and bustling streets.

The city was a maze of intersecting roads, and even though night had just fallen, the streets were alive with activity.

"Indeed. We'll be staying here for a while, so we need to find a safe and secure place to settle down," Lin Yongming replied.

"Ah Yin, to get a better understanding of Soto City, let's buy a local map first. Then we can find a long-term place to stay," he suggested.

Although Lin Yongming couldn't see the city's sights, the sounds around him painted a vivid picture of its liveliness. To navigate a new place effectively, especially one as large as Soto City, a map was essential. It would help them locate key landmarks like the Spirit Hall, the city lord's mansion, noble estates, and the Great Spirit Arena.

The two soon found a small shop and purchased a detailed map of Soto City for three gold spirit coins.

"This map is so expensive! It's just a piece of paper, yet it costs three gold coins!" Lan Yinhuang complained as they left the shop, holding the map in her hands.

"Well, this isn't Wurto Town. Maps are complicated to make, so it's understandable that they're pricey," Lin Yongming replied with a sigh. Fortunately, he still had the ten thousand gold coins he had received as a reward from the Spirit Hall.

"Ah Yin, can you check where the Great Spirit Arena is located?" Lin Yongming asked.

"Sure, let me see," Lan Yinhuang said, unfolding the map and scanning it carefully.

"Found it! It's on the southern edge of the city," she announced.

"Good. Let's head to the southern district and find a hotel near the arena," Lin Yongming decided. After all, he had come to Soto City specifically to train at the Great Spirit Arena, so it made sense to stay close by.

Lan Yinhuang understood his intentions and led the way. After about half an hour, they arrived in the southern district.

"Xiao Ming, this Spirit Arena Hotel looks nice. It's clean and well-maintained, with five floors," Lan Yinhuang suggested, pointing to a rather elegant-looking building.

"How far is it from the Great Spirit Arena?" Lin Yongming asked.

"Just two streets away," Lan Yinhuang replied, glancing toward the distant arena.

"Alright, let's check it out," Lin Yongming agreed, and the two entered the hotel's lobby.

They approached the front desk, where two male attendants greeted them.

"Welcome! Are you here to stay?" one of them asked with a polite smile.

"How well do you protect your guests' privacy?" Lin Yongming inquired directly.

"Rest assured, our hotel takes guest confidentiality very seriously. Your information will remain secure with us," the attendant replied earnestly.

Lin Yongming, however, wasn't entirely convinced. In a world where money could buy almost anything, such promises were often hollow. Still, he appreciated the hotel's professional demeanor.

"Do you have a two-bedroom suite available?" he asked.

"Of course! We have suites with two bedrooms, a living room, a private bathroom, and a balcony," the attendant explained.

"What's the daily rate?"

"For the suite you described, it's twenty-three gold spirit coins per day. This covers the room and basic amenities but not meals," the attendant replied.

"Ah Yin, what do you think?" Lin Yongming turned to Lan Yinhuang for her opinion.

"It looks good to me. Let's stay here," she said after glancing around the lobby.

"Alright. We'll stay for a month. Can you round down the total cost?" Lin Yongming negotiated.

"A month? That's thirty days. How about 650 gold spirit coins for the entire month?" the attendant offered after a moment of calculation, reducing the total by forty coins.

"Deal. Here's the payment," Lin Yongming agreed, pulling out the exact amount from his spatial storage belt and placing it on the counter.

"Excellent! Let me register your information. May I have your name, sir?" the attendant asked, his smile widening as he counted the coins.

"Ashura," Lin Yongming replied.

"Ashura, Room 304," the attendant noted down. "What an unusual name," he muttered under his breath, though he knew better than to pry.

He handed over a set of keys and said, "I'll show you to your room."

The attendant led them up the stairs to the third floor and opened the door to Room 304.

"Here we are. The room is soundproof, so you won't be disturbed. Feel free to look around. If you're not satisfied, I can show you another room, though all the suites on this floor are identical in layout and furnishings," the attendant explained.

Lan Yinhuang inspected the room and nodded in approval. "It's very clean, not even a speck of dust on the tables."

"Of course! We clean every room daily, even if it's unoccupied. During your stay, you can request cleaning services at any time, free of charge," the attendant added with a smile.

"Good. We'll stay here for the month. If everything goes well, we might extend our stay," Lin Yongming said.

"Excellent! Here are your keys. The door is reinforced and can withstand an attack from a Great Spirit Master, so you can sleep soundly at night," the attendant assured them before leaving.

Once alone, Lin Yongming and Lan Yinhuang inspected the room thoroughly. Satisfied, they headed downstairs for dinner, ready to begin their new chapter in Soto City.
