The sounds that followed were of no interest to Bi Shi and Ye Ying, so they retreated to the rooftop of the main hall.
"Ye Ying, you stay here and keep an eye on them. I'll go back and report this to the Holy Maiden," Bi Shi whispered.
"Bi Shi, you stay. Besides this matter, I also need to report what I've observed over the past two days to the Holy Maiden," Ye Ying quickly replied.
"You stay. I also need to report the situation at the Viscount's estate."
"No, you stay. My matter can't be delayed."
"Mine can't either."
"So you're refusing to stay, huh?"
"Aren't you the same?"
"Then let's both go back and report!"
"Fine!"
After some back-and-forth, neither Bi Shi nor Ye Ying was willing to stay behind. In the end, they decided to return to the hotel together.
When they arrived at the hotel and were about to knock on Bibi Dong's door, Ghost Douluo suddenly appeared behind them.
"Bi Shi, Ye Ying."
"Elder Ghost."
"The Holy Maiden is already asleep. Whatever it is, you can report it tomorrow. You should rest as well," Ghost Douluo said indifferently.
"Understood, Elder Ghost," Bi Shi and Ye Ying replied respectfully.
Ghost Douluo then vanished into the shadows.
"I told you not to come back."
"Enough. Let's just go to sleep."
Bi Shi and Ye Ying didn't press the matter further. After all, they had heard the conversation clearly—Bishop Greenk would come to them on his own.
As dawn broke, Bishop Greenk's residence was quiet. Lady Hailis was tidying herself up.
"Bishop Greenk, are you satisfied now? How do you plan to deal with those six people?" Lady Hailis asked coldly.
"Hailis, don't be so cold. Didn't we have a wonderful night?" Bishop Greenk said softly, approaching her.
"You… Are you going back on your word?" Lady Hailis asked, her voice tinged with anger.
"Relax, there's no need to be so impatient. How about this—after this matter is settled, become my lover," Bishop Greenk said with a smile.
"That's not impossible. But since I've fulfilled my part of the deal, it's your turn to show your sincerity," Lady Hailis replied, her tone softening slightly.
"Fine. When you return, bring them out of the city around ten o'clock. Lead them to the valley north of the city."
"It's too crowded in the city, and it's not a good place to act. I'll hide nearby with my men," Bishop Greenk proposed.
"Outside the city? Alright, I'll think of a way to lure them out," Lady Hailis said, seeing no better alternative.
"Take care," Bishop Greenk said, patting Lady Hailis on the back as she left.
Lady Hailis didn't look back.
"What a captivating woman!" Bishop Greenk muttered to himself, watching her graceful figure disappear.
Lady Hailis was considered one of the most beautiful women in the noble circles of the Balak Kingdom. It was no wonder that even a bishop like Greenk had his eyes on her.
As Lady Hailis stepped out of the Spirit Hall, she looked up at the gray morning sky. Tears of humiliation streamed down her face.
"Greenk, that blind man… I'll make you pay for everything you've done to me today," Lady Hailis whispered, her body trembling with suppressed rage.
When she returned home, Lady Hailis washed up and rested for a while. Around nine o'clock, she gathered all the guards in the estate.
Bibi Dong and Lin Yongming woke up around eight. As they opened their doors, they saw the four members of the Judgment Team waiting outside.
"Holy Maiden!" the four greeted respectfully.
"Bi Shi, Ye Ying, when did you return?" Bibi Dong asked curiously.
"Holy Maiden, we have something to report," Bi Shi and Ye Ying said simultaneously.
"Come in and speak," Bibi Dong said, knowing they must have gathered some important information.
"Lin Yongming, you come too," Bibi Dong added, turning to Lin Yongming.
"Yes, Holy Maiden," Lin Yongming replied, though puzzled, and followed them into the room.
Bibi Dong sat on the sofa and looked at Bi Shi and Ye Ying. "What did you find out?"
Lin Yongming stood to the side, listening silently.
Bi Shi and Ye Ying exchanged a glance before Bi Shi stepped forward.
"Holy Maiden, after we left the Viscount's estate the day before yesterday, Lady Hailis sent guards to investigate the situation in Suoto City. Last night, the guards returned and reported to her…" Bi Shi recounted what Lady Hailis had learned.
"So, she also suspects that Mad Tiger might be dead," Bibi Dong said, frowning.
"Yes," Bi Shi nodded.
"Is there more?" Bibi Dong asked.
"Let Ye Ying report what he observed," Bi Shi said, stepping back.
Bibi Dong looked at Ye Ying, puzzled.
"Holy Maiden, from what I've observed, Bishop Greenk is even more cunning than Torres. While he hasn't been involved in forcibly taking commoners' daughters or oppressing ordinary people, he's deeply entangled in the noble circles of the Balak Kingdom. He's had affairs with many married women among the nobility. He's not greedy for money, but he's lustful," Ye Ying reported.
"Is there more?" Bibi Dong asked, her expression turning cold.
"What follows is what Bi Shi and I witnessed last night. However, given that you're still a young lady, Holy Maiden, it might be inappropriate to describe it in detail," Ye Ying said awkwardly.
"Holy Maiden, Ye Ying is right. It's hard to explain," Bi Shi added, equally uncomfortable.
"Speak!" Bibi Dong demanded, her brow furrowed.
"Bi Shi, you go first," Ye Ying said quickly.
"Alright."
"Holy Maiden, Lady Hailis seemed to realize that Mad Tiger might no longer be alive. Around ten o'clock last night, she sneaked out of her estate and went to the Spirit Hall in Balak City. That's where I ran into Ye Ying," Bi Shi explained.
"Yes, Holy Maiden. I was monitoring Bishop Greenk, who was about to go to bed, when I sensed someone entering the Spirit Hall late at night. It was Lady Hailis, and I noticed Bi Shi following her," Ye Ying added.
"So, Lady Hailis went to the Spirit Hall in the middle of the night to see Bishop Greenk."
"What did she want from him?" Bibi Dong asked sharply.
"They made a deal. Lady Hailis initially offered one million gold spirit coins for Bishop Greenk to help eliminate us," Bi Shi said.
"One million gold spirit coins! What a generous offer. So, Bishop Greenk agreed?" Bibi Dong asked, surprised by the amount.
"Well… Bishop Greenk didn't accept the money. Instead, he made another demand…" Ye Ying's voice trailed off.
"I see. So, it was that kind of dirty deal," Bibi Dong said, her expression darkening. She hadn't expected Lady Hailis to agree to such a sacrifice.
"Holy Maiden, it seems Lady Hailis believes we killed Mad Tiger. She's desperate and willing to go all out," Lin Yongming commented.
"Hmph! She's overestimating herself. Since she wants to play, let's see what tricks she has up her sleeve," Bibi Dong said, her disdain for Greenk and Lady Hailis evident.
"When the time comes, don't act rashly. Let's see what they plan to do first," Bibi Dong instructed.
"Yes, Holy Maiden!" Bi Shi nodded. "If their deal goes through, Lady Hailis will likely come for us soon."
"Alright, go have breakfast," Bibi Dong said, dismissing them.
Bi Shi and Ye Ying left the room.
"Sigh…" Bibi Dong stood up and walked to the window, looking out at the bustling streets below.
"Why the sigh, Holy Maiden?" Lin Yongming asked.
"The Spirit Hall has been too complacent for too long. I didn't expect so many members to have fallen into corruption. It seems the Spirit Hall needs reform."
"I've only encountered two bishops so far, and both are the same kind of people. With such individuals in the Spirit Hall, how can we hope to rise higher?" Bibi Dong said with a bitter smile.
"Holy Maiden, there's no need to be so pessimistic. Everyone has desires. It's about whether they can overcome the demons within."
"The Spirit Hall is vast. It's normal to have people like this. Everything has its good and bad sides."
"For example, Bishop Xia from Wuer Town manages his branch well. Even if he doesn't go above and beyond, he's still doing a decent job for the common people," Lin Yongming said calmly, standing beside Bibi Dong.
"I understand. But as the Holy Maiden of the Spirit Hall, it's disheartening to see how many bishops might be doing evil behind the scenes. Meeting people like Torres and Greenk just makes me feel worse," Bibi Dong said, shaking her head.
"Enough of this. Just report what you've seen to the Pope. At your age, you shouldn't be burdened with these worries. What you should focus on is how to grow stronger through cultivation."
"Come on, let's go have breakfast," Lin Yongming said, trying to comfort her.
"You're right. These matters are for the Pope to handle. Let's go," Bibi Dong nodded, and the two left the room.
After breakfast, they returned to their rooms to meditate.
Around ten o'clock, Lin Yongming heard noises outside.
"Lady Hailis, why have you brought people here?" Bi Shi asked, feigning confusion.
"Where's that girl from the other day? I need to speak with her," Lady Hailis's voice rang out.
Lin Yongming sensed that Lady Hailis had brought five people with her. Hearing the commotion, he stepped out.
As soon as the door opened, Lady Hailis's gaze fell on Lin Yongming. "You blind bastard!"
"Such strong killing intent," Lin Yongming thought, sensing the murderous aura radiating from her.
Bibi Dong also opened her door. "Isn't this Lady Hailis? Has your husband returned?"
"Yes, but he's at a training ground in the valley north of the city. He heard you wanted to see him, so he sent a guard to have me bring you there," Lady Hailis said with a smile.
"How peculiar! Building a training ground outside the city instead of at home," Bibi Dong remarked curiously.
"My husband prefers quiet places for training. The estate is too noisy, so he often spends most of his time in the valley."
"So, do you still want to see him? I can take you there. If you're too scared to go, that's fine too," Lady Hailis said, using a bit of reverse psychology.
"Of course, we'll go. After all, we came here for him. Don't worry, once we meet your husband, I'll do my best to resolve any misunderstandings," Bibi Dong said with a faint smile.
"Good. Let's go now, or it'll be lunchtime soon. Follow me," Lady Hailis said, leading the way downstairs.
"Holy Maiden!" Bi Shi whispered.
"Follow her. Let's see what tricks they're planning," Bibi Dong said calmly.
"Yes!"
"Lin Yongming, what do you think?" Bibi Dong asked.
"Since you're going, I can't very well stay here alone. I'll come with you," Lin Yongming replied.
Hearing this, Bibi Dong shot him a glare, though Lin Yongming couldn't see it.
"Don't try to flatter me. If you ever turn into someone like Bishop Greenk, I'll make sure you regret it," Bibi Dong said, rolling her eyes.
"I would never!" Lin Yongming said with an awkward laugh.
"Hmph! Let's go," Bibi Dong said, turning and heading down the hallway.
"Was I flattering her?" Lin Yongming wondered to himself before following.
When they reached the hotel entrance, Lady Hailis was already seated in her carriage.
Fan He brought their carriage over and parked it behind Lady Hailis's.
"Lady Hailis, lead the way. We'll follow," Bibi Dong said.
"Good," Lady Hailis nodded and instructed her driver to move.
Bibi Dong, as usual, had Lin Yongming join her in the carriage, and Fan He followed behind Lady Hailis.
After about ten minutes, they exited the northern gate of Balak City.
A wide road stretched ahead, leading to an unknown destination.
After traveling for nearly an hour, they reached a dirt path branching off the main road. Lady Hailis directed her carriage onto the path.
"There are two large mountains ahead, with a valley between them. That must be the place she mentioned," Bibi Dong said, describing the scenery to Lin Yongming.
"We should be close. Any further, and we'd be entering another city," Lin Yongming replied.
"Holy Maiden, it's likely that Bishop Greenk, whom Lady Hailis conspired with, is already waiting there," Bi Shi said, riding up to the carriage window.
"Greenk has brought this upon himself. When we see him, cripple him and capture him alive. We'll take him back to Spirit City for the Pope to judge," Bibi Dong instructed.
"Greenk is a level 78 Spirit Sage. Ye Ying and I might not be able to subdue him. We'll need Elder Ghost to handle him," Bi Shi said apologetically.
"Fine. You two deal with his assistants. I want to see if Greenk brought the entire branch with him. If he did, it would be deeply disappointing," Bibi Dong said coldly.
Bi Shi didn't reply, simply following in silence.
Soon, the carriage ahead stopped. They had arrived at a quarry filled with scattered rocks. The valley between the mountains was an old riverbed, flanked by stone cliffs.
"We're here," Lady Hailis said, stepping out of her carriage.
"Oh? Are you sure?"
"This doesn't look like a training ground," Bibi Dong said as she and Lin Yongming exited their carriage.
"This used to be a quarry for Balak City. It was abandoned a few years ago when they no longer needed stone. I thought this would be a fitting place for you," Lady Hailis said with a cold laugh.
"Oh, really?" Bibi Dong sneered. "Just the few of you?"
"Of course not," Lady Hailis said, clapping her hands and shouting, "Come out!"
Suddenly, over fifty people emerged, surrounding Lin Yongming and the others.
