Chapter 5: Ch.5 Beerus Erupts
Beerus's World
Several Months after the battle with Zamasu
Blair sat perched atop Beerus's shoulders, her tiny hands clutching onto his ears as she squealed in delight.
"Daddy, go faster! Jump higher!" she giggled, bouncing slightly.
Beerus chuckled, his heart warming at the pure joy in her voice. "Oh? You think I'm not fast enough?"
With a smirk, he leaped into the air, soaring effortlessly before flipping midair and landing smoothly. Blair let out a delighted squeal, her tail flicking excitedly.
"Hehe! Again, again!" she pleaded, her golden eyes shining.
Beerus smirked but before he could indulge his little one further, Goku walked up to them.
"Hey, Lord Beerus, I'm heading over to Zeno's place to remind them about the tournament idea," Goku said casually.
At those words, Beerus's playful demeanor instantly vanished, replaced with a scowl. He carefully lifted Blair off his shoulders and placed her on the ground.
"Don't even think about it, Goku," Beerus warned, his voice edged with irritation.
But Goku, ever the reckless one, ignored the warning. He pulled out a small button—identical to the one Blair had—and pressed it, vanishing in an instant.
"GOKU!" Beerus roared, lunging towards him, but it was too late. Because he had put Blair down first, he wasn't able to reach in time. His tail lashed behind him in frustration.
Zeno's Palace
Goku appeared before both Zenos, explaining the idea of the tournament. Future Zeno, not knowing what it was, tilted his head in curiosity.
"A tournament?" Future Zeno asked, blinking.
"Yes! A huge fight with all the universes!" Goku grinned.
Intrigued, the Zenos turned to The Grand Priest, who, with a small smile, called All the Gods of Destruction and their attendants to appear.
Moments later, a grand arena materialized, and all the Gods of Destruction and their angels appeared, kneeling before the Zenos.
Blair, who had been sitting with the Beerus, perked up when she saw the Zenos.
She had already grown familiar with both versions of Zeno, and sitting beside them felt normal to her now.
The Gods of Destruction exchanged glances, puzzled by the reason for their summoning.
"The Zenos wish to see a demonstration," The Grand Priest announced.
The Gods looked at each other, before Beerus and Quitela immediately started arguing about who was the strongest.
"This is all YOUR fault, Goku!" Beerus growled, glaring at the Saiyan.
Among the Destroyers, Belmod's gaze flickered toward Blair, noting her resemblance to Beerus. A smirk tugged at his lips.
"Hmmm… Beerus, is that your daughter?" Belmod asked, amusement in his tone.
Beerus's ears twitched, and he scowled, but before he could respond—
The battle began.
The Battle Begins
The Destroyers immediately turned on Beerus because it was his universe's fault, their attacks raining down like a storm.
He dodged with grace, his movements fluid as he countered with his own explosive force.
Blair, watching from below as she too was a God of Destruction but just not in service, grew worried. Her small hands balled into fists.
She didn't like seeing her daddy being attacked.
Summoning her courage, Blair flew towards the battle. She wasn't nearly as strong as a full-fledged God of Destruction, but she was technically one, even if she wasn't in service yet.
Her innocence blinded her to the danger she was in.
She reached out, grabbing onto the arm of one of the combatants—Belmod.
"Stop hurting Daddy!" Blair tugged at his arm, her golden eyes wide.
Belmod merely glanced down at her before swatting his arm back, shoving her away with ease.
Blair let out a small gasp of surprise, stumbling backward in the air.
Beerus noticed too late.
A sinister smirk curled on Belmod's lips.
Before anyone could react, he launched a powerful ki blast—
Straight at Blair.
The energy slammed into her tiny frame, sending her flying backward.
"DADDY!" she screamed, just before the blast engulfed her.
A sharp, pained yelp was the last thing heard before her small body hit the ground, unconscious.
The Wrath of a Father
The battle stopped.
Beerus stood frozen, his eyes wide as he stared at Blair's small, injured body lying motionless.
A sudden, deadly silence filled the air.
And then—
Beerus's energy erupted.
A pillar of purple and black energy shot into the sky, splitting the heavens above. His entire body crackled with black lightning, the very ground trembling beneath him.
His golden eyes darkened, his pupils thinning into dangerous slits.
"Belmod…" Beerus's voice was low, unrecognizable.
In a blur, Beerus moved.
His fist collided with Belmod's face with such force that the Clown God was launched downward, shattering the arena floor.
But Beerus did not stop there.
With relentless fury, he descended upon Belmod, pummeling him over and over again.
Each punch was fueled by pure rage, his attacks merciless, precise, and brutal.
Belmod's face was bloodied, bruised, and barely recognizable.
The other Gods of Destruction watched in shock.
Champa, meanwhile, had rushed to Blair's side, lifting her fragile body in his arms. His expression darkened when he noticed how shallow her breathing was.
Ignoring the battle, Champa flew toward Whis and Vados.
"Vados! Whis! Help her!" he barked, his usual laziness completely gone.
Meanwhile, Beerus was about to kill Belmod—
Until the Grand Priest announced the battle to end.
The remaining Gods of Destruction rushed to restrain Beerus as they barely managed to pull it off but he did not stop his pursuit.
The Grand Priest then decided to calm Beerus himself.
With a single, precise strike to the back of Beerus's head, the God of Destruction collapsed.
Aftermath
When Beerus awoke, the first thing he saw was—
Blair.
She was lying on a bed near him, her injuries completely healed.
Without thinking, he stood up and grabbed her, pulling her into his arms, clutching her close.
A choked sound escaped him—was he… crying?
"Daddy?" Blair stirred sleepily, her small hands reaching up to touch his face. "Don't cry… I'm okay…"
Beerus held her tighter.
"…I almost lost you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Before he could say more, Vados, Whis, The Grand Priest, and the others entered.
Vados, upon seeing Blair awake, sighed in relief. She approached, gently poking Blair's nose.
"Tired, little one?"
Blair let out a soft giggle, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
The tension in the room finally eased.
Belmod, having been healed as well, scoffed but didn't dare say a word.
After finalizing details about the upcoming Tournament of Power, the Gods were dismissed.
Beerus's World
Back home, Beerus refused to let Blair out of his sight.
She stayed in his arms, sleepy and content. He curled his tail around her, holding her as if she'd disappear if he let go.
Goku, standing behind him, scratched his head awkwardly.
"You're lucky I'm not erasing you," Beerus growled lowly. "But if you ever endanger my daughter again…"
His eyes flashed dangerously.
"…You won't see the next day."
With that, Beerus walked away, carrying Blair to bed.
And for the first time in a long time…
He held her close all night, never letting go.
Two Days Later – Beerus's World
The serene atmosphere of Beerus's planet was interrupted as Goku was finally allowed back on planet.
Beerus sat on a large floating rock, his tail lazily swaying behind him while Blair sat comfortably in his lap, nibbling on a sweet treat.
Ever since the battle at Zeno's Palace, Beerus had barely let Blair out of his sight.
Even now, his hand absentmindedly rested on her shoulder, ensuring she was right there with him.
Goku, standing awkwardly a few feet away, scratched his head with a sheepish grin. He knew Beerus was still upset.
"Heh… I'm back, Lord Beerus."
The God of Destruction barely spared him a glance.
"Hmph. Consider yourself lucky, Saiyan.
If Blair wasn't here, I'd have blasted you into the next dimension for what happened," Beerus grumbled, tightening his hold on Blair protectively.
Blair, still munching on her treat, blinked up at Goku before turning to Beerus.
"Daddy, don't be mean," she said softly, her golden eyes filled with innocence.
Beerus sighed, his expression softening as he gently flicked her forehead. "You're too kind, little one."
Just then, a purple portal engulfed the sky, signaling the arrival of the Grand Priest.
As the celestial being appeared before them, the air grew heavier with divine presence.
Goku immediately straightened, while Beerus—though still seated—listened intently.
"The tournament details have been finalized," the Grand Priest announced, his voice carrying an air of authority.
"The Tournament Expo will take place in three days. Each universe will send ten participants."
Beerus narrowed his eyes. "Tch. Only three days?"
"Make your preparations," the Grand Priest continued before giving a final nod and vanishing as swiftly as he arrived.
A moment of silence followed before Goku let out an excited laugh.
"Alright! Time to start picking a team!"
Beerus, however, was less than enthused. He sighed, rubbing his temple.
Blair, still in his lap, tilted her head in curiosity.
"Daddy? Are you going to fight too?" she asked, her tail flicking playfully.
Beerus smirked, booping her nose.
"No, little one. Only mortals are going to be fighting in this Expo"
Blair pouted, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck. "But you're the strongest!"
Beerus chuckled, holding her close.
No matter what happened from now on… he would do anything if it meant Blair was safe.
Back on Earth
With a bright flash, Goku appeared on Earth, using his Instant Transmission to travel effortlessly across space.
His mind was set on one thing—inviting Vegeta to the upcoming tournament without wasting a second.
Excitement buzzed through him as he hurried towards Capsule Corporation, eager to find his Saiyan rival.
Inside Capsule Corporation – With Bulma
Meanwhile, inside the grand estate of Capsule Corp, Bulma and Chi-Chi sat together, engaged in a lively discussion.
The air was warm with anticipation as they chatted about an important topic—the name of Bulma's soon-to-arrive baby.
Bulma, her stomach visibly rounded from pregnancy, leaned back slightly, tapping a finger on her chin in thought.
Chi-Chi, ever the doting friend, gave her suggestions while crossing her arms with a proud expression.
"I'm telling you, the name has to sound strong and dignified!" Chi-Chi insisted.
Bulma rolled her eyes playfully. "And I'm telling you that I want something stylish and cool,'Like Bulla'. She thought to her self.
This is my baby, after all!" she said with a smirk, resting a hand on her belly.
Laughter filled the room as the two women continued their friendly debate, completely unaware that Goku was on his way, his usual enthusiasm likely about to shake things up once again.
