Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future

Chapter 77: Babidi’s Peak Moment

A satisfied smirk curled across King Cold's lips as he released Frieza from his grasp.

Then, his expression hardened, and with a swift burst of speed, he charged toward the Earth warriors who had dared attack him.

Frieza managed to stabilize himself midair, though barely, his gaze landing on Babidi. "Lord Babidi."

"Hehehe, very good, Frieza. You're quite the fine warrior," Babidi nodded in approval.

Then, with a hint of regret, he added, "It's a shame my Majin Buu has already perished. Otherwise, he could've healed your injuries."

Frieza's lips curved into a sly smile. "Lord Babidi, Majin Buu is not so easy to kill. As long as even a single cell remains, he can regenerate."

Babidi's eyes widened in shock. "R-Really? My Majin Buu… is still alive?"

Frieza's grin deepened. "If you threaten to reseal him, I guarantee he'll come crawling back."

"Is that so?" Babidi still sounded uncertain, but he turned to the surroundings and shouted, "Majin Buu, come out and protect me! If you don't show yourself, I'll seal you back inside that egg!"

A pink mist began to coalesce before them.

POOF!

With a soft thud, Majin Buu reappeared, his expression full of reluctance.

"Yahaha! So it's true! You're alive!" Babidi cheered, clapping and dancing in delight.

But then his face twisted into anger. "You've been hiding this whole time? Were you just waiting for me to be slaughtered by those Earth vermin?"

Majin Buu pouted and lowered his head, saying nothing.

"Hmph! If you don't start listening again, I really will seal you away!"

At that, Majin Buu nodded obediently.

Satisfied, Babidi ordered, "Good. Now, I command you restore Frieza's energy."

Majin Buu tilted his head slightly. The antenna atop his head twitched, and a stream of green energy surged out, wrapping around Frieza.

In the next instant, an overwhelming and terrifying surge of ki erupted from Frieza, sweeping across the battlefield like a tidal wave.

Those fighting King Cold froze in place.

Frieza's power... it had grown even stronger!

They were already struggling against a weakened King Cold. Now, if Frieza was back to full strength...

Even retreating might be impossible.

Especially since the fused Fat Gotenks still hadn't separated he didn't even have enough ki to use Instant Transmission.

Despair gripped everyone's hearts, but their eyes remained locked on Frieza, hoping praying for a miracle.

Frieza narrowed his eyes, their blood-red hue glinting with malice in the firelit sky.

He raised one finger, and with a sharp whoosh, a beam of purple death energy blasted toward Golden Cooler.

"Frieza! You dare attack me!?" Cooler swatted the beam aside, both shocked and furious.

He was already falling behind in his battle with Ginyu. Had Ginyu fully adapted to Cell Max's body, Cooler would've been finished.

Now, with Frieza joining the chaos, the situation became even more perilous.

"I just got a bit emotional after not seeing my dear brother for so long. My hand slipped oops. Oh ho ho ho..." Frieza chuckled with feigned innocence.

Babidi grinned wider, clapping his hands like a delighted child. "Excellent! Majin Buu, let's go heal Ginyu next. Hehehe!"

He and Buu began flying toward Ginyu.

But Frieza suddenly blocked their path. "Lord Babidi, perhaps we should restore King Cold first. That battlefield over there is… dangerous."

Babidi paused, then nodded. "Fair enough. It's all the same to me."

As the three approached, Earth's defenders braced themselves, immediately pulling back.

"What do we do, Levos?"

At some point, Levos had become everyone's pillar of hope.

What can I even do? I'm just a frog!

Levos's mind spun rapidly.

Should I use the Dragon Balls to break the deadlock?

They could definitely solve the crisis for now. Whether by summoning Merus or teleporting the enemy away, the wishes held endless possibilities.

But afterward?

Once the Dragon Balls entered cooldown, Earth would lose its last trump card.

Stealing Cell Max's body would be the optimal solution but Shenron might not be powerful enough for that, especially since Captain Ginyu was now in control.

After all, Shenron couldn't exceed the abilities of his creator.

But Levos wouldn't give up until the very last second.

"Majin Buu," Levos suddenly called out, "you have such incredible strength. Why obey someone like Babidi? You've always followed your own desires so why take orders from him?"

Buu's expression darkened. His healing energy paused.

"He's my servant! Of course he must obey me!" Babidi shrieked.

Majin Buu frowned and silently turned toward Babidi.

"What are you looking at!? I'm the one who freed you! That means you must obey me! Otherwise, I'll seal you up again!" Babidi shouted, madness flashing in his eyes.

There was now a faint trace of killing intent behind Majin Buu's gaze.

"Go heal King Cold! Or I'll recite the sealing spell right now!" Babidi yelled. "I don't even need you anymore! I've got plenty of other strong warriors who needs a disobedient fat pig like you!"

"...Fat pig?" The flicker of murder in Buu's eyes sharpened but he kept it well hidden.

Levos narrowed his gaze. He saw everything.

"Hurry up, you pig!" Babidi bellowed again.

Majin Buu stared at him coldly but said nothing.

Then, he silently turned around and resumed healing King Cold.

Levos knew this was his chance. He needed to drive a wedge between Babidi and his so-called followers.

"Frieza, are you really going to hand your hard-earned galactic empire over to Babidi?" Levos asked. "No offense, but I don't think he's cut out to rule anything."

Frieza's crimson eyes gleamed with amusement. "You make a good point, Mr. Levos. But managing an empire is a tiresome chore. I can always do it for Lord Babidi, in his name."

Levos blinked in surprise. That wasn't the answer he expected.

But Babidi screeched in rage, "You damn frog! Shut up! Frieza, I order you to kill him immediately!"

At that moment, King Cold's wounds were fully healed, his power completely restored.

And with that Babidi stood at the peak of his power. Unstoppable.

"Ohohoho..." Frieza chuckled darkly.

"Mr. Levos, you worry too much. A little nobody like Babidi could never hope to control me," Frieza's smirk turned sinister. "I'm just using him for now, nothing more."
