Dragon Ball: RNG Rebirth

Chapter 8: Brutal Battle

But the moment is fleeting. With a snarl, she leaps at me, her club raised high. I try to dodge, but she's too fast, too powerful. The weapon crashes down on my face, and pain explodes in a supernova behind my eyes. The impact sends me hurtling through the air like a ragdoll, the world spinning sickeningly around me.

I smash into a tree with enough force to shake its mighty branches. The trunk splits from the impact, and I slide to the ground, stars dancing in my vision. The taste of blood fills my mouth, and I spit a crimson spray onto the jungle floor.

Shaking off the pain, I stand and wipe the blood from my face, my eyes narrowing. "Guess my charm isn't going to win this one," I murmur, clenching my fists. "Time to show you what a real Frieza soldier can do."

I dodge another swing of her monstrous club, the air screaming around it. My movements are a blur, my feet barely touching the ground. I'm like a shadow weaving through the trees, dodging and feinting, keeping her on the defensive. Her swings come faster, more frenzied, but I'm always a step ahead, my grin never slipping.

Then, I see it—an opportunity. A vine, thick as a serpent, coiled around a nearby tree trunk. I sprint towards it, my eyes never leaving Chomera's. At the last moment, I leap, my boots slicing through the vine. It falls like a noose around her ankles, and with a yelp, she topples over, her massive form hitting the ground with a thud that echoes through the jungle.

Just as I'm about to deliver the finishing blow, a blast of burning yellow ki lights up the jungle like the sun itself. The heat washes over me, and I feel the power—it's Zelle! She's come in for the kill, and she's not holding back. The explosive wave of energy engulfs Chomera, her screams drowned out by the roar of the attack. The ground trembles as the force of the blast sends trees and Yumetsians alike flying.

When the dust settles, Zelle strides towards me, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Cody, we've got to go!" she shouts over the cacophony of the battlefield. "We've completed the mission, but we can't stay here. The Yumetsians might have some tricks up their sleeves."

I nod, admiring her decisiveness. She's always had a knack for knowing when to cut her losses—or in this case, when to cut off the enemy's escape. Together, we sprint through the jungle, our footsteps pounding in rhythm with our racing hearts. The sounds of combat fade behind us, replaced by the harsh panting of our breath and the occasional scream of a defeated warrior.

As we break through the tree line, the sight of our shuttle looms before us, untouched but surrounded by a few remaining Yumetsians. "Looks like we're not the only ones eager to leave," I remark with a cocky grin.

Zelle chuckles, the sound a mix of exhilaration and battle lust. "Leave them to me," she says, her eyes flashing with a fiery determination. "You've had your fun, now it's my turn to show off."

I watch as she charges the group, her power level spiking. The Yumetsians barely have time to react before she's upon them, a whirlwind of fists and energy. They stand no chance. With each strike, she moves with a precision that belies her strength, a beautiful dance of destruction that leaves them scattered and defeated.

Finally, we board the shuttle, the smell of victory thick in the air. The adrenaline is still pumping as we buckle in, and I can't help but feel a twinge of regret. Our time on Planet C-14 has been nothing short of exhilarating, but the call of the stars is too strong to resist.

As the shuttle lifts off, the jungle shrinking beneath us, I look over at Zelle, her eyes alight with excitement. "To new battles and new worlds," I say, raising a fist in the air.

She nods, her smile wide and fierce. "To becoming legends," she adds, her fist bumping mine in agreement.

The engines roar to life, and we're off—our bond stronger than ever, our thirst for power unquenched, and the universe ripe for the taking. Our future is written in the stars, and it's going to be one hell of a ride.

The cabin of our two-person Frieza Force ship is tight, but it's nothing compared to the close quarters of combat. The walls are cold, a stark contrast to the heat between Zelle and me. She turns to me, her eyes glowing with a fierce desire that's been simmering beneath the surface of our friendship. "You know, Cody, I've been watching you," she says, her voice dropping an octave, "and I can't help but think how beautifully we fight together. How beautiful we'd be... in other ways."

My heart races, and I swallow hard. It's not like I haven't noticed her before—the way her muscles flex under that armor, the fierce determination in her eyes when she battles—but this is new territory. "Zelle," I start, my voice thick with the same heat that's been burning through me since we stepped onto that planet. "I've noticed you too."

Her hand reaches out, her gloved fingertips grazing my cheek. The touch sends a bolt of electricity through me, and for a moment, I forget we're in the middle of an intergalactic conquest. She leans closer, her lips parted slightly. "I want to explore what we could be," she whispers, "not just as comrades, but as... more."

I lean back in my chair, a cocky smirk playing on my lips. "Whoa there, Saiyan," I say, trying to lighten the mood. "You might want to calm down, Zelle. I'm flattered, really, but I'm not worth ruining your life over."

Her hand moves from my cheek to the back of my neck, pulling me closer. "You don't get it, Cody," she says, her voice a mix of passion and desperation. "I don't give a damn about the Frieza Force, or the Saiyan hierarchy , or what anyone else thinks. I love you for who you are—a fighter, a tactician, a survivor. And everything about you—your spirit, your ambition, even that ridiculous smirk you wear like a crown."
