DXD:The Ultimate Psychic

Chapter 2: chapter 2

I smirked as i openly sighed. "What can i say, i love experimenting, now can i join the club Rias Gremory"

Rias contemplated for a few minutes before she finally came to a conclusion. "I was going to invite you to my peerage but seeing you aren't someone i can recruit why not agree on a deal"

I smiled, making a deal with a devil sounds intriguing but then again if i wanted to find something intriguing i would go fight the foreign invaders great red is protecting this universe from. I returned my attention back to Rias. "What kind of deal"

Rias smiled. "If you are going to join the club you would have to help us when we really need it, nothing more, nothing less"

I silently looked at her, my eyes impassive and uninterested. "If you are that weak, why are you a King in the first place"

Rias awkwardly scratched her head. "My brother is an influential and very powerful being, there are few things that can hurt me and peerage, i just want you more of a second plan"

Well makes sense, some of the pantheons are still alive and there are a few outsiders in this world, this DXD world is strange, maybe it was because of my existence, i did notice that there are some beings that shouldn't belong in this world though, but i don't think they are a threat...for now.

I think it wasn't a bad deal. "i accept"

Rias smiled. "Welcome to the club, you may do whatever at the moment since we have nothing on our agenda today"

Since that was the case i went towards Koneko and sat beside her.

Koneko barely reacted to my presence, continuing to nibble on her pastry like I wasn't even there. I watched her for a moment before reaching out with a single finger and poking her cheek. Her golden eyes flickered toward me, unamused. "What?"I smirked. "Just making sure you're not a lifelike statue. You hardly move sometimes."Koneko sighed and took another bite of her snack, completely ignoring my teasing.

That was fine. I liked the fact that she wasn't easily rattled. Unlike certain devils in the room, she wasn't one to get caught up in unnecessary drama.Meanwhile, Rias and Akeno were having a hushed conversation across the room. Kiba had returned to whatever he was doing before I arrived—probably cleaning his sword or thinking about being chivalrous or something.

The atmosphere in the clubroom was oddly calm.Too calm.I decided to play around a little, i made a small source of light no bigger than a coin and then made a floating board that moved side to side and above it were blocks that would break the moment they are hit and there are some who won't break.Koneko's ears twitched slightly as she glanced at my little floating game. Her expression remained neutral, but I noticed the subtle way her gaze lingered.

I smirked. "Wanna play?"She blinked up at me before slowly swallowing her bite of pastry. "...What is it?"

"A simple game," I explained, flicking my finger to send the tiny light bouncing against the first block, shattering it instantly. "You keep the light from falling using this platform. Some blocks break, some don't. Try and clear them all."Koneko eyed the floating construct for a moment before silently reaching out and tapping the board. It responded immediately, shifting slightly at her touch. Her golden eyes narrowed just a fraction as she tested moving it side to side. Then, without a word, she started playing.

I leaned back, watching as Koneko quickly adapted. She was precise—efficient in her movements. Not a single wasted motion. She didn't even look like she was putting in effort, yet I could tell she was focused.Akeno peeked over from across the room, amusement dancing in her violet eyes. "Ara, ara~ What are you two up to over there?"

"Just seeing if Koneko-chan has a gamer side," I mused.Kiba chuckled. "It's rare to see her interested in something new."Koneko didn't respond, fully locked into the game. The small light bounced faster, and she adjusted instantly, keeping it in play. The number of blocks dwindled one by one.

Then, suddenly, the ball hit one of the unbreakable blocks at a weird angle, speeding downward. For the first time, Koneko's expression shifted ever so slightly.

Her brows furrowed in the tiniest hint of frustration as she moved to intercept—But she missed. The light fizzled out as it dropped past her board.Koneko stared at the empty space where it had vanished. I could almost see the gears turning in her head.

"...Unfair."

I chuckled. "Some blocks just don't break. Gotta strategize." With a flick of my fingers, I reset the board.

"Wanna try again?"She hesitated for only a second before giving a small nod. "One more."

Akeno giggled. "How interesting~ You might have found a new way to entertain her, Aratake-kun."I smirked but said nothing, watching as Koneko started her second round.

Soon the day passed by quickly and i was about to go home when all of a sudden Koneko pulled on my shirt, she had a slightly complicated expression on her face.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "Something on your mind, Koneko?"She hesitated for a moment before finally speaking, her voice as monotone as ever, but there was something just beneath the surface—something she wasn't sure how to say.

"...Walk me home."That was unexpected. I tilted my head slightly, searching her expression. Koneko wasn't the type to ask for favors, especially something as simple as this. If she wanted company, that meant she either had something to say… or something was bothering her.I smirked, not one to pass up an interesting situation. "Sure. Lead the way."

Rias, who had been finishing up some paperwork, glanced over with a knowing smile but said nothing. Akeno just giggled behind her hand, while Kiba gave a casual wave as I left with Koneko. The sun was setting as we walked side by side, the air cooling slightly. Koneko was quiet, her hands tucked into her sleeves, her gaze forward. After a few moments of silence, I decided to speak first. "So, are you just enjoying my company, or is something bothering you?"She didn't answer right away.

Instead, she glanced up at me briefly before looking ahead again. "No, nothing is bothering me..."She went silent again, the atmosphere seemed awkward so i decided to make a conversation instead. "Hey remember seven months ago when i found you spying on me near my house and i proposed to be friends with you"

Koneko's steps faltered slightly, just for a moment, before she resumed walking as if nothing happened. She kept her gaze forward, her expression unreadable."...You remember that?" she asked, her voice as neutral as ever, but I caught the slight shift in her tone—something between curiosity and mild embarrassment.I smirked. "Of course I do. It's not every day you find a little cat sneaking around your house, trying to act like a ninja."She puffed her cheeks slightly, looking away. "...I wasn't sneaking. I was watching."

Aratake sat in his room drinking a cup of strawberry juice while he watched a movie online. "What an off brand version of Marvel, though it's not that bad, also should i take care of that golden eyed white cat that has been spying on me for a week"He was aware that Koneko was hiding near his house and was silently observing him he was already bored with the movie so he would rather go and tease a sneaky cat and admire cuteness, he walked downstairs and by his father who was focused playing a game on the tv.

He went outside and went to the backyard filled with countless flowers and bushes, it was a place his mom used to tend to before he was born and she died and now he takes care of it seems he found it peaceful and calming, he went towards a particular push and put his hand inside and grabbed out something.it was a girl who was around his age, had golden eyes an white air and had a short stature, she was also light on his hands as he held her by the collar, Aratake smiled at her and spoke. "Hey, let's be friends"

That day Koneko was so stunned she went back home with a multitude of questions in her head and from that day, she found herself liking his company more than usual even sharing her favourite sitting spots with him, but she wouldn't share her food....After i finished reminiscing the past Koneko looked at me with what seems to be a slight smile. "yeah i remember now, thank you for becoming my friend that day"

"I am going to take a mental picture of this smile and make sure to always remember it" i already did that the moment she smiled.

"Ok, just don't do anything weird with it" She answered returning back to her previous expression after she indirectly called me a pervert which i am not and besides it's not like i know she is wearing white panties with red dots on the, at the moment, it's just absurd that she would say that to me.
