Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree

Chapter 425: Half-plane Channel

The Segis Universe was composed of countless planes.

And each plane externally attached larger or smaller half-planes.

These half-planes were either created by mythological beings, born from the main plane, or simply nurtured from the void and then attracted and attached to a specific plane...

These half-planes attached to planes generally had channels connecting to the main plane, known as half-plane channels.

This was exactly what Eve encountered.

The discovery surprised Eve, yet it was to be expected.

Surprising, because for a millennium, the spatial channels outward from the Segis World were almost completely closed.

In this situation, except for a True God forcibly using a massive amount of Divine Power and faith to perform cross-plane summoning, the Segis World was isolated from the outside.

Thus, under natural conditions, the appearance of a spatial channel connecting to an external half-plane was impossible, let alone a channel connecting to other independent planes.

And yet, it was to be expected because with Eve's awakening, the magic power of the entire Segis Plane was also gradually recovering, so the loosening of many closed spatial channels was only normal.

The spatial channels connecting the half-planes attached to the Segis Plane were the weakest, and it was not unusual for them to be the first to open.

"No wonder I couldn't sense this shard before, but now I can. It's likely not just because the shard in Reinhardt's hand was interfering but also because the half-plane channel wasn't open before."

"Now, I've nearly completed the Life Scepter, and this half-plane channel has reopened, allowing me to sense the existence of this last Life Scepter shard."

"But why did this Life Scepter shard end up in a half-plane, and which half-plane is it?"

Eve was somewhat puzzled.

After all, the number of half-planes attached to the Segis World was limited.

And the position of each half-plane relative to the main plane was also fixed.

This meant that if there was a half-plane channel here, Eve, with the World Tree legacy, should have known about it.

And even if Eve was unaware, the elves should have legends related to it.

However, as far as Eve knew, the Elf Forest shouldn't have any half-plane channels connecting to the outside.

This half-plane shouldn't have existed unless it was born after the fall of the World Tree.

"There's something strange."

Eve's mind became alert.

She pondered for a moment and extended her hand to sense the stability of this half-plane channel...

"It's relatively stable, can enter."

The Life Scepter shard had to be obtained as it was the last piece.

And Eve herself was also very interested in this peculiar half-plane.

With that thought, she decided to enter and investigate.

It's just an avatar. Even if it's a trap, it doesn't matter much.

But just as Eve was about to enter, she suddenly sensed the plane channel beginning to shake violently.

Accompanied by creaking sounds, the entire channel started to tremble and became wobbly, while the swirling light within it rolled like mist, revealing the scene inside.

It was a lush forest. In the distance, wisps of smoke rose from towns.

However, at this moment, the space on the other side seemed to be in an earthquake, the entire forest trembling, cracks appearing on the ground, countless trees collapsing, startling birds, and beasts...

Upon seeing this, Eve quickly stopped her action of crossing the half-plane channel.

And as she stopped, the tremor also gradually ceased, the swirling mist once again shrouded, concealing the scene within the half-plane.

"Can't bear my power after all, it seems... a rather low-level half-plane."

Eve murmured.

Half-planes also had levels, and half-planes of different levels had different capacity limits.

Just like the Segis Plane, which could currently only bear Demigod Level powers, a True God forcibly descending would certainly cause the plane to collapse.

Thinking of this, Eve extended her hand again, closed her eyes, and used Divine Power to sense...

A moment later, she opened her eyes:

"Indeed, it is a low-level half-plane, probably a mid-level half-plane."

In the Segis Universe, both planes and half-planes had levels.

In general, based on the strength they could bear, they could be divided into low-level planes, mid-level planes, high-level planes, Legendary Planes, and Mythical Planes.

The corresponding levels of strength were Iron, Silver, Gold, Legendary, and above Demigod.

The Segis Plane was an ultimate Mythical Plane, the most perfect plane.

"Can only bear Silver Peak power at most?"

With a slight thought in mind, Eve came up with an idea.

Her current avatar's power was Demigod Level, and the half-plane could not bear it.

So, creating a Silver Peak body would do.

With this thought, she immediately summoned an elf body from her main body.

This was a spare player body, made by Eve in her spare time.

The purpose was to prepare for the future expansion of players, as well as some other special situations.

After summoning the body, Eve took out a leaf from her pocket.

It was a leaf from the World Tree.

She used Divine Power to fuse the World Tree leaf with the body, and the new body quickly took on her appearance.

Then, Eve took out the Life Scepter, gently pointing it at the new body to enhance its capacity to bear Divine Soul Power, and used Divine Power to raise its power to Silver Peak level.

Afterward, Eve separated a wisp of Divine Soul and entered the new body.

The new avatar was formed.

Making a Demigod Avatar was troublesome, but with the Life Scepter, altering the body to bear Divine Soul Power, making an avatar with weaker power was quite convenient for Eve.

Then, Eve manipulated the new avatar and attempted to enter the half-plane again.

Initially, it was smooth.

However, just as Eve was about to pass through, she suddenly sensed an inexplicably familiar wave coming from the depths of the half-plane, sweeping over her.

Soon after, the previously calm half-plane trembled again, with a faint inclination to collapse.

Eve was startled, quickly stopping her action.

After she ceased, the half-plane's tremor halted once more, but Eve noticed that due to the two disturbances, the half-plane's spatial channel had become very unstable.

If it trembled once more, it could potentially collapse directly.

Upon seeing this, her brows gradually furrowed.

Looking around, Eve soon spotted a sneaky Goblin on the edge of the ruins, trying to escape.

She extended her hand slightly, and vines abruptly sprouted from the ground, ensnaring the Goblin and delivering it to her.

The Goblin was scared out of its wits, trembling in fear.

Eve glanced at it, then picked it up and sent it into the half-plane.

This time, it went smoothly.

The Goblin was successfully transferred, and the half-plane did not experience any tremors.

Seeing this, Eve slightly comprehended:

"I see..."

"The half-plane tremor wasn't merely due to insupportable power..."

"Divine Soul Power, too, cannot enter..."

"Just now, it was that familiar wave, upon detecting my soul's strength, that triggered the spatial reaction..."

"It felt as if the half-plane was preventing mythical beings from infiltrating, and if a mythical existence attempted entry, the plane would self-destruct."

"Is something being concealed?"

Upon this thought, Eve's curiosity about the half-plane deepened.

She pondered for a moment and smiled faintly:

"So what, if I can't enter, I'll find someone else to enter, and I can still obtain the information I want."

Exactly.

Eve once again set her sights on the players.

Since her forced entrance would lead to plane destruction, she decided to allow the players to replace her.

Just in time, the dragon was also arriving soon; selecting a Dragon Knight was also an issue, and it could perfectly serve as a quest reward.

Eve had a premonition.

This half-plane, perhaps, harbored some secret...

I had long wanted to write this plot. Starting from this half-plane, the main storyline would gradually unfold.
