Emperor and Dragon ( A Black Clover Fanfiction)

Chapter 37: Ch.37 Pendragon family vs. Donquixote family

h. 37 Pendragon family vs. Donquixote family

"So how are you liking your new bow?" Early the next morning Magnus, Asta, Bandit and his right hand man ventured a short distance from the Inn to test out the newly made bow Bandit wielded.

Bandit was already firing the bow with expert skill, distant targets no bigger than an apple hit every time and they easily packed enough force to blow boulders apart. "Hahaha I love it! Even though it's still made o' gold it's so much lighter than my old bow. I don't even feel any tension when I pull! And this destructive power is through the roof! When ya said ya'd make it special for me, ya didn't play! I'll definitely join ya'll back to Clover."

"Boss you're just going to go?"

"I'm a man o' my word and he made the weapon right in front o' my eyes. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect him to pull a whole forge outta his ring but I got this bow…what's it called?"

"You'll know when it's time" Magnus responded casually.

"Kinda cryptic but ok…" Bandit shrugs unbothered by the answer.

"See boss that's weird! I don't trust-"

"I respect ya opinions Jude, but don't challenge me after I made my decision." Bandit's tone went sharp.

"Yes sir."

"Ight Magnus I'm ready to go to the kingdom whenever. The Inn can run fine without me."

"We actually have business in Joker city before we return to Clover."

"Joker city? That place is ran by the donkey-somethin' family. They're one o' the big fish in this area. What ya want in their waters?"

"I was hoping to do some real estate."

"Sounds interestin'."

"I'm going too. (I have to make sure boss doesn't get into any trouble with these people.)"

"I have no objections." Says Magnus starting back towards the Inn. "The others should be ready to leave by now.

The next few hours their trip went much more quickly because they did not stop to fight anymore. Bandit stood atop Magnus' carriage sharpshooting any threats before they got close. Every monster was put down swiftly with an arrow between the eyes. Noelle sat up top with her newfound brother, trying to learn everything about him he was willing to share. Though he was apprehensive at first, she got him to open up quickly. It was a relief having a sibling who cared nothing for the noble lifestyle. He was much easier to talk to than her other siblings (maybe a little harder to understand though) and he was more interested in her than her role in the family. She felt as at ease with him as she does Magnus, like they had been close friends for years.

The others inside the carriage could hear them laughing together loud and clear.

"Sounds like they're having fun" says Magnus reading his reports. "You know it wouldn't hurt for you to socialize too. I believe we'll be working together a lot in the future, Jude was it? So, we should get to know each other better."

"I'll be honest. You seem like more of a schemer than the boss, so forgive me if I don't trust you right away. I'm only tagging along to make sure nothing happens to him."

"Hahaha! You're not wrong Magnus is always scheming, but that doesn't make him untrustworthy. His plans help the people around him too." Asta speaks on Magnus behalf. "It's hard to say what goes on in his head but he's not a bad person. Even though you guys are bandits you do not really seem like bad people either, why don't we all try to be friends?"

"I get we'll be working together but I'll pass on the friendship stuff, it only causes trouble. Let's keep this professional."

"Aww really?"

"Who put a stick up your- oww brother that hurts!" Morgiana was interrupted by Magnus pulling her ear.

"If you have nothing productive to say keep quiet. Anyways, if that's what you want, we can do away with the niceties for now. As someone more familiar with the area, what can you tell us about Joker city?"

"It's a den of thieves built into an old mountain fortress atop Nine Peaks mountain. You'd have to get through a maze of tunnels to actually reach the fortress. Rumor has it the mountain moves to defend it's master. I'm not really sure what all that entails but you can assume the environment is also your enemy there. The place is controlled by the Donquixote family, a crew ran by Donquixote Doflamingo. He's a merciless tyrant who will do anything for money and power."

"Isn't that what you thieves and bandits do?" Kirsch asked coldly.

"Don't lump us in with people like him, we did what he had to for survival. Now our work at the Golden Raccoon is legit. The boss worked hard so a lot of people could have food and a place to lay their heads in the middle of this wasteland. He rallied people to fight against all these monsters in the area too despite his age. The Donquixote family only takes from the people out here, and they have no problem using any underhanded methods."

"Sounds like Magnus! The first part did anyways. Haven't you heard how big Hodge is now? In just a few short years Magnus turned it from a church in the middle of nowhere to a full-sized city."

"(I have heard of Hodge, so he's the guy responsible for it. Does the whole world run on schemes?) If you're such a kind soul, why do you want to deal with someone like Doflamingo? Things like human trafficking and experimental drugs are about all he's worth."

"Oh I don't actually have any business with him, I just want the mountain he's built his base on."

"And you think he'll just hand it over?"

"Not really but I think taking the mountain would be more fun."

"Wait you mean you just plan to go up there and evict THE Donquixote Doflamingo from his own hideout? That fortress is as big as a small city, not to mention his officers are deadly fighters who employ various powers like devil fruits and haki with their grimoires. They're the greatest power in this region of the neutral zone and backed by the Seven Warlord's crime syndicate. You think you can match up to the Donquixote family's forces with this small caravan of twenty or so people?"

"Oh the servants and guards will be waiting inside a defensive formation until we return, only the people in this particular carriage will be fighting. Noelle and Bandit also."

"You are a madman."

"So I've been told. I can't see myself being threatened by devil fruit users."

"Achooo!" Galileo sneezes while playing with Lion-O.

"Gross Boss! Are you getting sick?" The cat asks.

"I don't get sick, I think someone's talking about me…"

"I intend to cut off a head from the Seven Warlord's syndicate and gain a new base of operations today simple as that. You are welcome to wait with the servants while we clear the space out."

Jude was disturbed by how nonchalantly Magnus regarded the Donquixote family. Looking at his subordinates he could tell none of them were bothered by their oncoming battle in the slightest. In fact, they seemed to be looking forward to it. "(these guys make the boss seem normal.)"

Not much time later a great Mountain nestled in a deep green valley came into view. There was a small town at the foot of the mountain, and a river ran into a cave that went in one side and out the other side of the mountain.

"Aye Magnus' squad! I can see Joker city." A head poked out of each window to look at the city coming into view.

"Can you even call that a city? It looks so insignificant…" Noelle was disappointed with the underwhelming view of the city.

"Are there even enough people for us to fight?"-Morgiana

"The Valley itself looks lovely though."-Kirsch

"Ya shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. That lil town is only a guard post, the real deal is inside the mountain."

"What's our plan Magnus?" Asta asks.

"Do I ever give out plans for your training exercises? Run amok, just don't destroy my mountain too much when we get there."

"Right!" All of the Pendragon disciples were raring to go.

"(Is he serious?) Do you all really believe it's going to be that easy?" Jude is still surprised how carefree they seemed. Even if Bandit was eccentric, he was smart enough to not try and challenge the entire Donquixote family with only seven people.

"Why wouldn't we? We're strong." Morgiana says plainly.

"We have faith in the training we've done until now." Asta adds.

"This is close enough we'll go the rest of the way by foot." Magnus put up a barrier formation for his servants to hide in and the group disembarked to go to Joker city."

Before they could get close to the city the sound of an aircraft filled the air. Almost as soon as they heard the sound a hail of bullets coated in haki rained down on them. Magnus shielded everyone by creating a rift in the space between them and the shooter.

"The welcome party is already here?" Magnus asks casually looking up above.

"Looks like Donkey is on to us!" Laughs Bandit.

"We did walk right up to their front door." Noelle adds.

"Still how'd they know so soon?" Jude asks.

"I believe someone on their team has good eyes too."

"Not better than ours brother."

"Hahaha wow looks like you missed completely Baby5 Dasuyan!" They looked up to see a large man buck toothed man in the Donquixote family jolly roger painted on his front teeth. Magnus breathed a sigh of relief to see that his proportions at least looked human, still the guy was pretty rough. He wore a tacky orange fur coat with brown boots and gloves. What disturbed him the most was that the man's hair which rose into a long cowlick and his three equally shaped hairs that make up his beard rotated around his face like propellers, somehow his arms and legs were also spinning in ways no one with human joints should be able to.

"I can see that, the blonde boy did something strange at the last second!" Standing on his back there was a beautiful young woman wearing a French maid's outfit with a cigarette in her mouth. Her long black hair flowed down to her lower back in loose curls. What struck Magnus as odd about her was the fact the gun that fired on them was connected to her arm. He could tell it wasn't just connected but actually a part of her when it warped itself into a cannon. "I'll get them this time."

"Doffy will be mad if you screw this up. Also I need to borrow a million gold coins to pay off my gambling debt dasuyan."

"Again? If you need it Buffalo, I guess it can't be helped…I'll get it for you after we finish here."

"Hahahaha you should learn to say no. Now blast them to pieces!"

"So the battle against the Donquixote family begins." Kirsch says calmly.

"Finally a fight!" Morgiana draws her sword and charges.

"Wait Morgiana I was going first!"

"You're too slow Asta!"

"Buffalo, Baby5… I think Gali mentioned something useful about one of them… what did he say though?"

"Look Baby5 the littlest girl is coming dasuyan!"

"How sad they let her fight alone."

"Put her out of her misery dasuyan."

Baby5 fires a volley of cannonballs at Morgiana.

"Hahaha that's it!?" She splits them all into little pieces, and moves past fast enough to evade the explosions. Morgiana lands on Buffalo's head face to face with two shotguns. A volley of shells blow away a small log as Morgiana appears behind Baby 5. The assassin's hands turn into blades that barely prevent her head from getting removed by Morgiana's slash. Sparks fly as their blades continuously clash. Morgiana sweeps Baby5's feet and red black and gold rasengan blasts her from Buffalo's back. "Asura's rasengan."

"Baby 5 dasuyan!"

"You don't have time to worry about her!" Morgiana flips her sword to plant into Buffalo's spine but he rotates at high speed throwing her from his back. He immediately goes to catch Baby 5 but Morgiana is right behind him. Buffalo can feel a dense killing intent coming from the girl which startled him, he spun his arms and legs faster and took off. Morgiana was blown back by the force giving him time to catch Baby5. She was still in fighting condition despite the smoldering hole in the stomach of her dress and the bruise to match.

"My dress! You little brat you're going to pay for that." Wiping blood from her lip.

"Try and make me old hag!"

"Hag!? I'm only twenty-four! Buffalo hold steady!" She turns her arm into a cannon once again.

"I got it dasuyan."

"I swear if he says dasuyan on more time!" Morgiana meets them head on. At the last second she vanishes from their line of sight.

"Where'd she go dasu- whooaaa!" Buffalo found himself off balance nearly falling out of the air. It took him a second to stabilize.

"Buffalo! Your hair is cut!" Baby5 was shocked to see that two of the four propellers made of his facial hair had been cut off. She didn't have much time to be shocked by that because Morgiana wasn't letting up yet. Baby5 threw a kick that turned into a mini gun unleashing another huge volley of bullets to make Morgiana back away. Her sword moved fast enough to block most of the bullets but a few managed to graze her. "Throw me now!" Baby5 leaped off of Buffalo's back turning into a rocket, which Buffalo threw with full force.

Morgiana grinned excitedly "What kind of weapon are you turning into now? I'll stop anything you throw at me!" Her sword begin to radiate that malicious red, black, and gold energy. "War god's execution." One vertical swing and the sky was lit ablaze with the evil energy and Baby5 is falling to the ground. Buffalo wanted to charge in to avenge her but the moment he saw those red eyes he was paralyzed.

"Wha-what's going on? I can't move dasuyan!"

"Dasuyan will be your last word" Morgiana says plunging her sword into his chest. "Die." Red, black and gold lights burst from Buffalo as he turns to ashes.

Landing on the ground Morgiana faces Baby5 who is on her last leg, barely conscious with the gaping slash across her body. "Time to wrap this up, at least you were more fun than the fatty."

She produces her grimoire and it flips to it's last page "E-even if I fall here…Doffy gave me a job…he needs me to do it." All of her magic begins to well up inside of her at a rate even Magnus found alarming. "(If it means I can make Doffy happy, I'll gladly lay down my life and take them with me.)"

"Baby5 I need your help." Magnus stepped in.

"What are you doing brother move!"

Her magic power stopped growing and returned to normal "You- *cough cough* you need my help?" Startling everyone she had completely lost all intent to fight. Those words seemed to bring her joy.

"Baby5 five is the easiest in the Donquixote family to deal with. Just tell her you need her help, and she'll do whatever you want."- Galileo

"Yes, I need you to help us conquer this mountain."

She seemed to wrestle with going against Doflamingo for a second but in the end being needed won out in her head. "You really need me? I'd love to help…" she passed out
