Chapter 73: Ch.70 Learning
"What does chaos mean to you?" Before leaving Clover Velgrynd told Galileo a little about the power of concepts. Abilities that defied the logic and comprehension of an ordinary mind, granting users godlike powers. They grow more powerful with the user's understanding of the subject and for that reason are only limited by the user. Being the Evil Void Chaos dragon Galileo's constitution centered around two extremely powerful concepts. He may even have more, but it was probably best not to overload his little pea brain for now she thought.
"Confusion? Maybe madness? Or randomness…no wait pandemonium sounds cool!"
"Cool isn't exactly what I was going for…but you aren't wrong. Confusion, madness, randomness, pandemonium. These are all different facets of the concept of chaos. They are one whole yet diverge into countless possible applications. The deeper your understanding, the greater your control over chaos will become."
"Ok, so I have a bunch of extra powers I don't know about?" Galileo was getting excited to learn something new about his dragonic heritage's powers.
"Maybe, only you can tell."
"What kinda cryptic shit is that?!"
"Just test it out and see what it does sometimes. I can't give you all the answers."
"If you get me killed, I'm going to haunt you."
"How about I kill you myself brat," she said cracking her knuckles.
"What's that Lumiette, did you need something?!" Galileo quickly flickered away. Snapping out of his flashback Galileo presently found himself facing his greatest crisis yet. Truth be told he couldn't sense what all was in that rasenshuriken Madara was holding, and he had no one in his head to back him up right now. This was do or die time, the best/worst time to test out a new ability. "(PLEEAAAASE! PLEASE! PLEASE WORK!)" The tiny ball of energy in Galileo's hand continually changed colors and shape as it danced in his palm.
"(This must be primal chaos…I've never seen this energy before. How will he use it?) No matter what you do, this is the end for you." Madara said preparing to launch his attack.
"(Get ready Gali. You can do this…if not you die, no biggie.)" Galileo thought focusing everything on this next move. Just before the rasenshuriken left Madara's hand Galileo activated the technique "Random Bullshit attack!"
"What!?" The technique was more effective than Madara had thought. Instead of his jutsu a swarm of butterflies left his hand, flying away aimlessly. All he saw was a bright flash from the energy in Galileo's hand. "(How did he do that?)"
"Oh, shit it really worked!" Galileo was now holding the rasenshuriken overhead. A layer of void kept the ball of death from destroying his own hand. "BWAHAHAHA teamwork does make the dream work, eh Madara? Let's see if you can take what you dish out!" Galileo threw it back full force. "I can mark rasenshuriken off my anime bucket list now! Bwhahahaha!"
"You can switch a few things around" Madara calmly watched the ball of destruction hurtling towards him. "So what?" he simply swatted the jutsu back with his war fan.
"Your whole family is a bunch cheating fucks…Random bullshit!" Another flash and Galileo was watching the rasenshuriken fly towards Madara after they switched places.
"He can switch people too? "Madara was stunned but he quickly activated a barrier. The ensuing explosion cleared their landscape into nothingness leaving a barren wasteland, Galileo used a wall of void and haki to block and still barely survived it himself. Both going for the initiative a majestic destroyer flame clashed with a lightning flame roar before their fists met in the middle of the explosion. They began trading blows, Madara's technique was superior but Galileo kept stacking abilities to keep up. His whirlwind arms shout, offensive and defensive enchantments and haki hardened scales at least boosted the power to help make up for the vast skill gap. Madara swept Galileo off his feet and raised his foot high overhead "You'll never beat me in martial-"
"RANDOM BULLSHIT!" Another bright flash shone out but when it cleared nothing happened. "Aww damn…" BOOOM! Madara's heel came crashing down on his chest through an explosion of purple lightning creating a crater several meters deep. Though Madara crushed several of Galileo's ribs, he still took a nasty shock in return. Holding strong with his foot on Galileo's chest Madara swung a kunai covered in sword intent.
"Gimmie something good!" Galileo held up a stick that appeared in hand and fortified it with his various boosting abilities. Another elemental roar put distance between he and Madara. He threw the stick like a javelin which Madara dodged in time to see a streak of purple flying at him. "storm dragon's rampage!" a great dragon with a body of spiraling black storm clouds and raging thunder in its eyes and jaws, enveloped Galileo and rushed towards Madara.
"Limbo." Several invisible clones appeared before Madara stopping the dragon mid-flight. The dragon opened its mouth wide as possible and let loose a roar of natural lightning incinerating the clones as it continued on. "Mystic arts are powerful indeed… I'll give that Ultimate skill a try then." Putting a hand up to the dragon and saying "I grant you mercy from your wrath" was all it took to stop the dragon in its tracks despite being just a technique. The dragon instantly calmed down and dissipated giving Madara a respectful nod on its way out, and leaving Galileo sitting speechless. "I see… the ability to remove certain qualities, even one's flaws. I can work with this." He looked at Galileo who shuddered for a second before taking a fighting stance.
"(Is he just testing stuff he recently learned in Clover on me?…and I'm holding on for dear life….)" Galileo was starting to get worried that Madara was still toying around despite using various attacks that should have ended him. What was worse, he didn't seem to be slowing down at all. With his life genuinely on the line for the first time, Galileo was feeling an entirely different kind of pressure. It was getting more and more overwhelming by the second. "(Random bullshit is getting old fast…I gotta come up with something else.)"
"I hope you have more tricks up your sleeve, for your sake," Madara said coldly advancing towards Galileo.
"Good thing I do!" Stomping the ground giant spires of white wood shot up around Madara forcing him to step back, they reformed into wooden dragons and gave chase. Leaping back Madara created wood dragons of his own to counter. Galileo's white wood's properties were similar to the wood style draining vitality from those ensnared. Having located Galileo among the writhing forest Madara moved in to finish him until he saw Galileo storing energy in his hand "BWAHAHAHAHA THIS TIME, THIS IS IT!" Galileo stored up as much energy in his hand as he could hold for a rumbling punch that decimated the entire forest it caused the earth to crumble and tremor, and even sent Madara crashing away. It took a lot out of him, and he was barely standing. It was clear he didn't have much more fight left in him after that one. Playing with chaos wasted a lot of energy.
"Not bad, If only that had landed you might have escaped." Madara was standing right next to Galileo admiring his handiwork.
"No way…you gotta be kidding me…I guess I'm out of options." Galileo started to let all of his remaining energy flow out. His teeth and claws started to sharpen and grow, shining black scales covered his body as big bull-like horns and four jet black wings sprouted from his back.
Sensing Galileo was finally ready to bet it all, the entirety of Madara's Susanoo started to rise up as the dragon grew.
"MADARA UCHIHA! Is this how you would treat your student!?" They were both startled to see that someone else was there, stopping their transformations midway. With all their destruction anyone who dared to stick around should have long been reduced to nothingness.
"You? Why are you here?" Of all people, it was none other than little Tobirama Senju who was supposed to be left in Clover. He was an excellent tracker so for him to find them was within Madara's realm of expectation.
"I knew you couldn't be trusted, so I came to follow you Madara. And what do I find, you're trying to kill your own student! How disgraceful!"
"Hmmm? What's disgraceful about training him?"
"How's trying to kill me training!?" Galileo exclaimed.
"I was told you work better under pressure, so I thought I'd test it. It turns out you are much more of a hands-on type of learner, which works for me. I can just beat the lessons into you instead of wasting my breath…and had someone waited a moment longer I would have gotten to see the evil void chaos dragon's true power…" He said glaring at Tobirama. "You should know how we trained back home."
"Wait so you weren't trying to kill me?" Galileo was stunned.
"Wait so you weren't trying to kill him?" Tobirama was just as confused
"If I wanted to kill you, you'd have died the moment we locked eyes. Notice I never put you in a genjutsu. Besides would you have fought that hard if you knew your life wasn't on the line?"
"Yeah! Probably not...No I wouldn't have." Galileo had to be honest, the setting despair of being at Madara's mercy made him fight a hell of a lot harder. "Tch one day I'll make you fight me seriously gramps. You may have won the battle, but you have not won the war!"
"You'll never surpass me Galileo. Magnus maybe but you're lukewarm…and who talks to their sensei like that?"
"Screw Magnus I'm gonna beat him too! Let's go another round!"
"Hahahahaha good! Are you sure you can survive this next round Galileo?"
"Of course! I don't get tired!" Galileo's body called his bluff when he spits up blood.
"Take a break before we continue…You can join in too Tobirama since you two are so keen on saving one another from me." Madara said.
"So be it. I'm always ready. Also, Galileo I think you could come up with a better name for that mad gamble of a technique than 'random bullshit'….it just sounds stupid."
"Sure I'll go with that. Mad Gamble it is."
......…..
Knock! Knock! Knock! "Lumiette are you alive in there? It's not like I'm worried about you or anything, but you can't stop being a character when Gali leaves.(Character? What am I Magnus now?)" Noelle banged on the door to Lumiette's room but no answer. "Are we really doing this again…" Noelle sighed "Lumiette locking yourself in your room for long periods of time is not healthy. Come out and get some fresh air!" Noelle waited for a moment until one of the royal servants had wheeled a cart of food to her door. They'd leave it there and Lumiette would get it when she felt like it. Despite not being Magnus or even Galileo's cooking it still smelled great, Noelle wasn't just going to torture herself next to it. "Room service!" She kicked the door open. "What the…" The scene Noelle came into was a complete mess. Noelle had been to Lumiette's room before and she was one of the neatest people she knew. Currently, research papers were strewn out across the floor and tacked to walls, snack wrappers lay everywhere on the floor, there were so many books(manga and textbooks) highlighted and written all over, and at places when she ran out of paper notes were etched onto the walls with a magic pen so she could transfer them to paper when she got some more later. Enchanted dolls in the form of little imps scampered about the room sorting and finding whatever material she was in need of at that moment.
"Thank you Gali Jr.," Lumiette said taking a book from an azure dragon plushie. She was so deep in her work she didn't notice the sudden intrusion.
"LUMIETTE! What's going on in here?" Noelle yelled just next to Lumiette's ear. The imps all ran into different hiding places after noticing her.
"KYAAAA! Stop doing that Noelle, do you know how startling that is?!" Lumiette nearly fell out of her chair. She looked like all she did was study in there. Lumiette had paled a bit, her hair was a frizzy mess, and deep bags were under her eyes.
"Duh I live with Magnus, what do you think? (It is kind of fun though)."
"One of these days you guys are going to give me a heart attack…" She trailed off and started studying Noelle intently.
"W-what are you looking at?"
"I can't place it but you look different, whatever you did is working."
"Thanks. It was a system thing, I had no control over it. Anyways what's all this? We have barely seen you since Gali left. You're not doing some depressed seclusion thing are you?"
"What? No. Madara will keep a good eye on him so stressing over a whole year is just pointless. The peace is more relaxing than I thought it would be. Still, sorry for making you worry. I have been spending a lot of time wrapped up in my research lately. Since Galileo finally told me about the otherworldly information there have been so many questions I wanted to answer, but more keep popping up the more I learn. I've made a few breakthroughs and have been able to make some adjustments to Clover's overall strategies. I wanted to share them with Gali first or even Magnus, but well they're both out of commission for the year. So, I kept researching." She shrugged and grabbed another book.
"You're really into these studies."
"Yes, I've devised some improvisations for some of Magnus' inventions, the guild and Dragon Tale's functionality too. Here are some recipes for magic power-boosting potions, recovery potions, and a few other battlefield consumables…but I am going to need more test subjects other than myself to see their full effects. Lastly, I have been working with Nether energy and grace among my other newer abili-" GRRRRRR she was interrupted by her growling stomach.
"Hahaha, tell me all about it over lunch" Noelle pulled Lumiette out of her room.
