Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 637: Consuming the Space Whale's Brain

--

Cedric drew his attention to his Inner World...

There, he saw his harvest from the heist. The brain, heart, marrows, lungs, and finally, the eyes of the Space Whale.

His mind whirred with so many ideas to deal with these materials. He was already thinking about ways to extract the full benefits for each part he got.

'The marrows and the few remaining drops of blood essence on the heart can be turned into elixirs and tonics, but they can't be stand-alone materials. The primordial essence of the Space Whale is too strong for that. I have to gather other materials that would simultaneously restrain and improve the efficacy of the final products.

By 'efficacy,' he meant eliminating, or at least lessening, the harmful effects of the final products for these materials. Again, the primordial essence of the Space Whale was simply too overwhelming; consuming these materials raw would simply be a waste because they could be so much more.

Cedric already had a few ideas in mind for other materials for the elixirs and tonics. Most of them could be found and grown within his home; all he needed was to start experimenting to discover the correct formula.

And if his ideas were correct, which they most likely are, then these elixirs and tonics would be effective even for him.

'The lungs could be refined into a treasure.'

'It is said that a space whale's lungs could contract into the size of a chicken's egg and expand to their full size in an instant without affecting the ability of the space whale to breathe; this represents its power and capacity.'

'Refiners would immediately think of turning this lounge into a spatial treasure. If the Primordial Essence of the Space Whale can be preserved and if the Space and Time Law concept diagrams in it remain intact as well, it is very possible to turn this into a pocket dimension.

'I could probably do that too. And maybe I should. Because while I had Cade's pocket dimension, I still don't trust it completely. I'd feel more confident with things I created myself. At least I can guarantee that there will be no accident.'

Cedric was thinking of turning this lung into a pocket dimension, which could serve as his mobile home. It'll essentially be another security measure for him for when he eventually starts exploring the chaos realm.

But obviously, refining a treasure like this wouldn't be easy. Especially since it's his first time dealing with a material like this. It's going to take some time before the final product is ready to use.

His attention then moved to the eyes of the Space Whale.

They're smaller than the brain, actually. And since it's been quite some time since they've been plucked, they've turned into what looked like ordinary stone boulders.

The reason why Cedric didn't go for these first was because, after death, it's eyes that go bad first. The Space Whale wasn't different. And compared to its brain, the eyes held significantly less value to Cedric. But this isn't saying that they're worthless; Cedric was just pressed for time then, so he had to make a choice, and he chose to go for the brain.

But even though those eyes had been calcified at this point, Cedric could still sense the remaining essence within them. The calcification is what preserves this essence, and he doesn't necessarily have to break the eyes open to get them. In fact, doing that would just ruin it instead.

Cedric sent a wisp of his consciousness to penetrate the eyes, both of them at the same time. Doing this gave him a hint for what to do next, and that is to make it so that his left eye was staring at the left eye, and his right eye was staring at the right eye.

By doing this, he was able to get a glimpse of an otherwise hidden concept law diagram.

'An Innate Primordial Ability, huh? 'Cedric muttered to himself after studying the concept law diagram for a bit.

Remember the way the Space Whale caused Cade's death by glaring at him? Yes, it's the very same ability that's hidden behind that concept law diagram. One that he could comprehend and use in the future.

The ability was called 'Soul-Tearing Gaze'—it''s the ability to distort the spacetime continuum in the area the user was looking at. The range and the area of effect depend on how much origin energy was used.

That said, there are requirements to learn this ability. The main one being mastery over space and time laws. If the user was somehow able to partially fuse these two concept laws, well, that's even better because that's the basis behind this ability.

This requirement wasn't ironclad, though. The Space Whale is dead, after all, and there are other means out there to circumvent this requirement.

If someone could memorize the complete concept law diagram and imprint it on, say, someone's consciousness or eyes, then it should be possible to use it. Of course, its effects will deteriorate, and it will require more origin energy to use, but it's a legitimate method to use it.

Besides, the concept law diagram itself could be used to comprehend both space and Time Laws, there are even hints about law fusion in them, Cedric himself could confirm, so getting this complete concept law diagram was simply a blessing.

If Cedric needed to in the future, he could sell this concept law diagram, and it would definitely fetch a high price. Probably more than he'd dare imagine since it came from a Primordial Creature and it's about space and time laws.

But despite this being considered a divine ability for most people, Cedric wasn't really all that impressed, to be honest.

Yes, it's powerful. He wouldn't deny that. But see, he could already do this even without this concept diagram; he just never had to.

At most, it just showed him a way to do it better. It wasn't as revolutionary or a godly skill in his eyes. It's just another means to kill someone; that's it.

Cedric had somehow foreseen this, actually. And it's why he decided to prioritize the brain instead of the eyes.

Because compared to the chance of taking his concept of law comprehension to the Great Law, the concept of law diagram on the eyes simply just couldn't compare.

Yes, Cedric went for the Space Whale's brain simply for this reason.

And speaking of which, he's now looking at the flesh cocoon where the intact and preserved brain was stored.

Since this was his inner world, the meager flesh strands covering the brain couldn't stop his perception at all. He was able to, once again, marvel at the sight of the Space Whale's brain.

'It's like an egg yolk, honestly,' he muttered to himself.

'And unlike other materials that needed to be processed, this one doesn't need any at all.'

'Its effects are mild and gentle; it doesn't need any further refinement or supplements. It is perfect as is.'

'The only problem is that I had to consume it all in one go.'

Looking at the brain, which almost reached the size of a small planet, Cedric couldn't help but smile wryly.

Any other people would find it troublesome to consume this whole thing at once. Because how exactly was one expected to swallow a small planet in one go?

Fortunately, Cedric wasn't any people.

'Well, it's already in my Inner World.'

'All I need to do is to release it, and my Inner World will do the rest for me.'

Despite the distance, Cedric's Inner World was connected to his clones. Therefore, when his clones placed these things in here, the main body got access to them too.

'Well, let's see if this could take my Space and Time Laws to the Great Law level.'

And just to be cautious, Cedric moved all other materials stored in his Inner World away before unleashing the brain.

He also made sure to put it directly at the core of the Origin Energy sea before unsealing it from its cocoon.

Once he was ready, he sliced the cocoon open, and the perfect spherical brain showed itself to him. It didn't take long before its shape turned unstable and began collapsing.

The brain spilled into his origin energy sea, causing great disturbances that caused his consciousness to blank out for a bit.

Cedric felt a wave coming, and so, he retracted his attention from his inner world, and through the eyes of his clones, he began staring at the concept law structure once more.

The wave of insights produced by his consumption of the space whale's brain heightened his perception to a point where the Great Law of Time and Space became perfectly clear and visible to him.

That was then followed by a flood of insights, which he devoured eagerly.

In an instant, Cedric fell into a state of enlightenment, one that doesn't usually happen to him anymore.

He had completely forgotten everything else and was completely immersed in the sea of space-time laws, unable to extricate himself for the time being.

It's unknown how long he'd stay like this.
