Fairy, Don’t Be Afraid, I’m Blind

Chapter 46: Putting It Down Yourself

Chapter 46: Putting It Down Yourself

When You Su returned to the sect, Ji Lingruo had already been waiting at the entrance for a long time.

“Why did it take so long today? Did you lose?” she asked.

Ji Lingruo’s figure was accentuated by a close-fitting, snow-white dress that outlined her graceful curves. Paired with her delicate features, she looked like a serene fairy. However, the way she crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe was completely at odds with her elegant appearance.

“Junior Sister, don’t you trust me? But that Wu Cheng was indeed more formidable than I expected,” You Su replied with a smile, subtly turning his foot to hide the wound. “He was so eager to fight me, and today he got his wish. He won’t bother us anymore.”

“That’s good. At least you have some skills,” Ji Lingruo said, her face breaking into a satisfied smile. Although her senior brother’s victory was within her expectations, the joy it brought her was no less diminished.

Suddenly, she noticed that the hem of You Su’s robe was unusually low, as if it had been deliberately pulled down. Leaning closer, she saw that the fabric below the hem was torn to shreds, revealing numerous bloody wounds.

Ji Lingruo’s expression immediately turned to anger. “How did you get injured so badly?” she asked urgently, quickly moving to You Su’s side to support him.

You Su wanted to refuse. In truth, he was perfectly capable of walking on his own. But Ji Lingruo didn’t hesitate at all, firmly gripping his arm under hers.

Feeling the softness pressing against his arm, You Su felt somewhat uncomfortable. As a blind person, his sense of touch was extremely sensitive. The more he tried to relax and ignore the sensation, the more it felt as if that was the only part of his body he could feel.

They had been in closer contact during their previous training sessions, but he had always justified it as part of the teaching process. Now, however, he couldn’t find any excuse to ignore the alluring stimulation. He subtly tried to twist his arm free, but Ji Lingruo immediately noticed.

A faint blush spread across Ji Lingruo’s cheeks as she tightened her grip on You Su’s arm, pretending to scold him. “Stop moving. I’ll help you rest.”

You Su had no choice but to obey.

Fine, fine. Consider this a reward for fighting so hard…

Once they returned to his room, Ji Lingruo treated You Su as if he were completely incapacitated, forcefully pressing him down to lie half-upright on the bed.

Ji Lingruo first brought in a basin of clean water, then picked up the bags of medicinal herbs that You Su had brought back. They were common herbs used to stop bleeding and detoxify. She moved a stool next to You Su’s bed and reached for his feet.

“Junior Sister, what are you doing?” You Su quickly pulled his legs back, looking like a frightened little wife, unsure of what her husband was up to.

“Applying medicine, of course. Hurry up! Don’t act like a little girl,” Ji Lingruo said impatiently, her face full of disdain as she reached for his legs again.

You Su quickly stopped her. “No need, Junior Sister. I can do it myself. It’s no big deal.”

Ji Lingruo didn’t argue with him. Instead, she smoothed out the folds of her dress and sat down gracefully, her legs pressed tightly together and her feet pointing slightly outward. Her posture was elegant and dignified, like a noble lady raised in a wealthy family.

However, her haughty expression ruined her otherwise graceful demeanor. She slowly extended three fingers and threatened, “If you don’t want me to get angry, stretch your leg over here. I’ll only count to three.”

“Really, Junior Sister, I can do it myself. Your precious hands shouldn’t be doing such menial tasks,” You Su flattered.

“Three.”

“Junior Sister, listen to me. The people at the pharmacy have already treated my wounds. There’s no need to do it again.”

“Two.”

“Junior Sister, the Immortal from Divine Mountain already gave me a spiritual pill. If I had gone home any slower, my wounds would have healed by themselves. Why bother taking more medicine?”

Ji Lingruo glanced down at the wounds on You Su’s calf. There was no sign that any medicine had been applied. She retracted her second finger and said coldly, “One”.

As soon as she finished counting, Ji Lingruo looked at the bloodstained leg now hovering in front of her abdomen and smiled triumphantly. She found it amusing how her senior brother was still pretending, even though he had already extended his leg. He was even using force to keep it from touching her.

She decided not to tease him any further and reached out to press his leg down onto her thigh. To her surprise, You Su’s leg was still strong despite his injuries, and she couldn’t push it down no matter how hard she tried. She couldn’t help but laugh, wondering what he was being so stubborn about. She gave up and withdrew her hand, commanding, “Put it down yourself.”

You Su seemed to resign himself to his fate and reluctantly relaxed, placing his leg obediently on Ji Lingruo’s thigh.

You Su had never seen it, but he had felt it before. He knew that Ji Lingruo’s thighs weren’t thin. Through the thin silk of her dress, he could feel her round and firm flesh.

Of course, You Su wanted to be close to his Junior Sister, but deep down, he was worried about her situation. He couldn’t bring himself to wholeheartedly accept her kindness. To him, it felt like letting someone who was even more troubled than himself take care of him.

Moreover, he understood that Ji Lingruo’s actions were driven by guilt. She felt bad that he had been out fighting while she could only wait at home. That’s why she hadn’t rested all day, waiting for him to return so she could do something for him. He could only be thankful that his wounds hadn’t scabbed over yet, or else she might have picked them open to apply medicine again.

As he felt Ji Lingruo carefully wiping his wounds with a towel, You Su was deeply moved. He wondered how he, You Su, had been lucky enough to have such a wonderful Junior Sister.

“Hey, this is a reward for defeating Wu Cheng, you know? Don’t expect such good treatment next time,” Ji Lingruo said.

“Of course,” You Su replied with a chuckle.

The night was deep.

Gu walked out of the grand gates of Guardian Firmament Sect, accompanied by Qi Daodong and City Lord Liu.

“Senior Brother Gu, with this, we’ve visited all the sects in Chuyun City. The Guardian Firmament Sect is truly the pride of our city. Many talents from other cities are willing to travel far just to train here. I hope Senior Brother Gu is satisfied with today’s inspection,” City Lord Liu said with a smile, stroking his beard as he probed for Gu’s opinion on the affiliated sects.

Qi Daodong, who stood next to him, also wore a respectful expression. “City Lord Liu, you are flattering us. The Guardian Firmament Sect still has many shortcomings and is far from being the ‘pride’ of the city. We hope that Senior Brother Gu will not hesitate to offer his guidance.”

Gu replied with a flat smile. “Sect Leader Qi, you’re too modest. Among cities of similar size, few have a sect as large as the Guardian Firmament Sect.”

“By the way, we haven’t visited the Mandarin Duck Sword Sect where You Su is from, have we?” Gu asked suddenly.

“The Mandarin Duck Sword Sect is in a state of disrepair. Its sect leader has been wandering around for eight years and hasn’t returned. You, Su, is the only disciple left. To save Senior Brother Gu’s time, I took the liberty of excluding such small sects. I hope you don’t mind,” City Lord Liu replied apologetically.

“No matter. I understand your intentions. But since we said that every sect would have a chance, we can’t go back on that. Tomorrow, I’ll visit the sword sect myself. There’s no need for you to accompany me.”

With that, Gu left the two men with only his retreating back. City Lord Liu and Qi Daodong exchanged a glance, their expressions unreadable.
