Fairy Tail: I Can Hear Everything With My Unique Skill

Chapter 35: This is how a professional work

"Unfortunately you are half right and half wrong with your guess. " Akira's voice came from Gildart's side, startling him. Turning to the side, Gildarts saw that Akira was standing next to him in the exact place before he went to confront the wolf.

"Wait, does this mean all of this is an illusion? " Gildarts, who quickly calmed down, asked. He wondered how this kid stayed by his side while completely erasing his presence. If Akira didn't speak, Gildarts would never realize that he was near him all this time.

" Yes, from the moment that wolf came at us, I began to deploy my illusion. I call this illusion Kyōka suigetsu, the illusion of total hypnosis. " Akira nodded while puffing his chest in pride.

Although he has to use his unique skill over time to perfect the illusion, it was still worth the trouble. Even though he didn't have Aizen's super-intelligence to bring out the true terror of Kyōka Suigetsu, he still managed to make it impossible for someone to realize the danger at first glance.

This is only possible due to his unique skill allowing him to perfectly understand the opponent's thinking pattern and adjust the illusion according to their thoughts. Although it wouldn't be very effective on a large number of crowds but against a small audience it is still invincible.

Gildarts not realizing his presence is proof of that. With him reading Gildarts's mind, Akira was able to send false signals so Gildarts would ignore his presence.

' I should wear some glasses to perfect the illusion,' Akira thought as he snapped his fingers to stop the illusion. The poor wolf is almost out of breath after firing magic attacks left and right.

Unlike humans, monsters don't have the intelligence to keep some energy on reserve for emergencies, so they tend to attack with all they've got. While this in turn makes them more dangerous, it also reduces their endurance.

And after a monster runs out of magic power, it can only attack using physical attacks. And Akira is specialized in dealing with such monsters.

" Take Over: Roger! " Akira shouted as he rushed toward the wolf with a sword in hand. Although weapons constructed by light magic are very useful, they are not very durable compared to real swords.

So unless Akira actually learned earth or ice magic, he would have to stick to normal weapons.

Akira skillfully deflected the claw attacks that the wolf aimed at him. And with expert movements, Akira began to finish him off.

" Roarrrrr " the wolf let out an angry roar as Akira's twin swords pierced through the wolf's heart and brain.

With a thud, the wolf crashed down to the ground lifeless. Akira cleaned the swords from the blood and sheathed them at his waist.

"Well, are you going to process this guy here or take the full corpse back into town and do it there? " Gildarts asked. Usually, wizards would process the necessary parts and leave the rest, as carrying the corpse itself is very inconvenient. But with Akira having a storage bag, the situation changes drastically.

"Well, I will process the wolves together, so for now we should just try to catch another two wolves. " Akira said as he stored the wolf in his storage bag.

Gildarts also agreed to this. Although it may take a while to hunt all three wolves, processing each wolf individually would take too much time and resources. After all, who knows, maybe a wild monster may be lured towards them due to the smell of blood.

And with this, the two of them continued their hunt. Due to demonic snow wolves liking to live a solitary lifestyle, it took some time to track down another two wolves. And by the time they finished with their hunt, it was already near night time.

Since they cannot travel through the mountains in the night, Akira and Gildarts decided to make a temporary camp to spend the night.

However, in a situation such as this one, one might expect Gildarts, who had years of experience as a wizard, would be able to guide Akira, who is relatively new to this field. But unfortunately, you are very much mistaken.

Although Gildarts camped outside numerous times, he still couldn't compare to Akira, who lived in a forest for most of his life and even more has more advanced modern knowledge due to his profession as an Archeologist.

If we were given a level to their respective knowledge, then Gildarts would have a level 5 knowledge while Akira is level 9.

Although there are only a few level differences, the knowledge is like heaven and earth. For example, Gildarts only brought in some simple camping equipment like some rations, money, and a set of spare clothes.

This guy didn't even bring a sleeping bag since he always used to sleep on top of a tree. With his automatic magical aura, there is no need for any defense from mosquitos or any small animals.

But compared to Gildarts, Akira brought in more equipment, such as a sleeping bag, a small tent a mosquito net, and much more equipment that one would need to get a good night's sleep. Although his preparations are not anything compared to what Erza would do in the future, they are still more professional compared to a certain uncle.

As the two of them finished setting up camp, Akira began to prepare dinner for the both of them. Although they brought rations from home, those are just some emergency rations that taste absolutely plain.

As someone who had his taste buds conquered by Sera's heavenly cooking, Akira would rather starve than eat such garbage. And since he couldn't really go hungry, Akira decided to learn a thing or two about cooking from Sera.

And with years of grueling practice, his cooking skills are quite advanced. Well, they are advanced compared to a certain uncle who only knows how to roast some meat. If he went against a famous chef Akira could only admit his defeat.

But then again, he is still better than a normal chef who doesn't know any advanced cooking knowledge and spices Asian countries are famous for.

Thinking of such random things Akira continued to make the process the three wolves. Since monster meat is eatable in this world, Akira decided to try making some wolf meat skewers and some bone soup for dinner.

"Hmmm. " Akira hummed a tune from his previous life as his hands worked their magic. His hands were a blur as he skinned the wolf and separated the meat at a very fast speed. When that was done, he began to cut the meat into suitable pieces.

One must know that to truly master the art of swordsmanship, one must be able to use them perfectly and practically.

And Akira embodied this saying. Although he learned ancient swordsmanship techniques from his grandfather's residual memories, he didn't hesitate to use them in his daily life to truly make those skills his.

Due to Akira's expert skills, the cooking was finished in no time. And before Gildarts knew it, the table was filled with various skewers and two bowls of soup.

"Thanks for the meal, " Gildarts said as he began to eat his dinner with relish. One had to admit Akira was an excellent cook. During the whole cooking process, had Akira not set up a small barrier, wild animals would have rushed here due to the delicious smell.

While Gildarts was eating like he had been starving for days, Akira was eating his meal with the elegance a normal man should have. While eating, he was constantly thinking of ways to improve his cooking.

After dinner, Gildarts helped Akira in cleaning the dishes and such. Well, help is a bit of a stretch, as Akira basically forced Gildarts to assist him, or else he would spread a rumor of Gildarts being a despicable person who only knows how to mooch off kids.

Facing this threat, even the ever-powerful Gildarts had to agree to whatever demand Akira had. After all, even Gildarts feared social death.

After cleaning up, Akira went inside his tent to sleep while Gildarts volunteered to keep watch for a while. Once again he was asked very nicely to keep watch since he had done nothing the whole day.
