The sky shook as Natsu and Animus clashed once more, the world itself seemingly trembling at their overwhelming power.
Animus' massive form cut through the air, scales shimmering with dark crimson energy as he roared and unleashed a torrent of draconic power.
Natsu, or rather the demon, moved without hesitation—his body a blur of pure instinct and feral rage.
Every step, every motion radiated menace, his wild, spiked purple hair waving with dark flames, eyes glowing like burning coals beneath his skeletal mask.
Animus launched first, a ball of condensed draconic fire forming in his mouth, expanding rapidly until it illuminated the night sky.
"Crystal Dragon's....Infernal Roar!!!"
With a deafening roar, he released it—a blazing inferno hurtling toward Natsu, leaving a fiery trail in its wake.
The heat melted the very ground below, creating a fissure that spread far and wide.
Natsu stood his ground, his body emanating a deep, dark purple aura. He raised his right arm, and the air around him twisted violently.
Just before the fireball struck, his hand snapped forward, catching the attack with his bare hand.
The flames writhed, struggling to consume him, but they were no match for the demon's power. The fire dissipated into sparks, vanishing into the void like fleeting embers.
Animus' eyes narrowed. "What kind of monster can withstand the Dragon Cry's power without flinching?"
Without answering, Natsu vanished from sight, reappearing just inches away from Animus' face in an instant.
His fist collided with Animus' jaw, the impact producing a shockwave that flattened the surrounding forest and cracked the castle walls below.
Animus hurtled backward, crashing through several cliffs, dust and debris rising in his wake.
Before Animus could recover, Natsu was already above him. The demon raised both arms and brought them down in a devastating double-handed strike.
The ground beneath Animus cratered deeply, his body buried in the rubble. The castle trembled violently as Animus coughed up blood, struggling to push himself up.
"You dare...!" Animus snarled, his body glowing once more as he called upon the Dragon Cry's power.
His scales thickened, horns extending as his size increased even further, the crimson aura around him raging like a storm.
Then, he let out a deep, guttural roar that tore through the battlefield.
Dark clouds gathered above them, swirling violently as lightning crackled.
Animus opened his mouth wide, summoning an enormous energy beam, a concentrated surge of dragon magic combined with the Dragon Cry's essence.
The ground buckled under the pressure as the beam surged toward Natsu like a meteor.
This time, Natsu didn't evade. He raised his hand and opened his mouth, dark flames gathering at the edges of his skeletal mask.
With a primal roar, he unleashed a massive torrent of purple-black fire, meeting Animus' attack head-on.
The two forces collided in midair, creating a sphere of chaotic energy that tore apart the heavens.
The explosion shook the entire region, obliterating everything within a mile radius and leaving a deep scar in the earth.
When the dust settled, both combatants stood in the aftermath, their eyes locked, neither willing to back down.
Animus' breath was labored, his massive frame visibly weakened. His earlier confidence was now replaced with frustration and a hint of fear.
"This can't be… I've absorbed the power of gods… yet you still stand!"
Natsu's response was a silent step forward. His eyes, devoid of emotion, glowed brighter as his aura expanded once more. He bent his knees, his muscles tensing like a coiled spring.
In a flash, he disappeared.
Animus barely had time to react before Natsu reappeared behind him, a sphere of dark fire burning in his hand.
With a swift motion, Natsu plunged the sphere into Animus' back, the flames spreading like a living entity, consuming the dragon's body.
Animus roared in agony as the dark flames seeped into his scales, burning him from within.
His wings flapped wildly, trying to extinguish the unrelenting fire, but the flames were unlike anything he had ever faced—living, hungry, and merciless.
His body writhed as they ate away at his very essence, weakening him further with each passing second.
"You... wretched... creature!" Animus snarled, his voice filled with both rage and desperation.
He spun around, his massive tail lashing out with the force of a collapsing mountain.
Natsu caught the tail with a single hand, the impact sending shockwaves across the battlefield.
The ground beneath them cracked and crumbled, unable to withstand the intensity of their clash.
With an eerie calmness, Natsu tightened his grip, his skeletal mask twisting into what could only be described as a mocking grin.
Then, with a brutal motion, Natsu swung Animus by the tail and slammed him into the ground with such force that the earth cratered beneath them, the tremors rippling for miles.
Dust and debris filled the air as Animus lay sprawled, coughing and gasping for breath.
But Natsu gave him no time to recover. In a blur, he appeared above Animus once more, his hand glowing with a dark flame that pulsed with malevolent energy.
He raised it high before bringing it down, striking Animus' chest directly. The ground beneath Animus buckled, fissures spreading outward in a chaotic web as the attack drove him deeper into the earth.
Animus cried out, his crimson aura flickering as his strength began to fade. His once-imposing form seemed smaller, his breath ragged and uneven.
The Dragon Cry's power was waning, unable to keep up with the relentless assault of the demon.
"I... won't... lose..." Animus growled through gritted teeth, his eyes blazing with stubborn resolve. "I will avenge the Dragons! I will kill Acnologia! Before that, I will never lose!"
Summoning the last reserves of his strength, he pushed himself to his feet. His body shook, battered and burned, but his will remained unbroken.
He opened his wings wide, dark crimson energy swirling around him as he prepared one final, desperate attack.
"If I'm going down, then I'll take you with me!" The energy gathered in his chest, growing brighter and denser until it became a blinding sphere of destructive power.
Natsu watched silently, his expression unreadable behind the mask. His body shifted slightly, dark flames licking around his arms as he prepared to meet Animus' final strike head-on.
The sky darkened as Animus unleashed his attack—a colossal beam of energy that tore through the heavens, its destructive force shaking the very fabric of the world.
The beam roared toward Natsu, consuming everything in its path.
Natsu raised his right arm, dark flames spiraling around it like a vortex. With a fierce roar, he thrust his hand forward, meeting Animus' attack with his own.
The clash created a blinding explosion of light and energy, the ground beneath them disintegrating as the two forces struggled for dominance.
The world seemed to hold its breath as the energy built to a breaking point—then, with a deafening crack, it detonated in a cataclysmic burst.
The shockwave spread for miles, flattening everything in its wake.
When the dust finally settled, a deep silence fell over the battlefield. Animus lay in the center of a massive crater, his body broken and unmoving.
His scales were charred, his crimson aura extinguished. His eyes fluttered weakly as he looked up at the sky, his strength utterly spent.
"I...lost..." He muttered.
Even with the power of the Dragon Cry, he still lost.
"How pathetic am I..."
Natsu stood at the edge of the crater, his dark aura still flickering around him. His skeletal mask cracked slightly, revealing a glimpse of his face beneath it.
His eyes—once filled with feral rage—now carried an eerie calmness, as if the storm within him had finally subsided.
Then finally, the mask broke, shattering into thousands of pieces, revealing the face of Natsu Dragneel.
Then, without warning, his eyes rolled back and he passed out.
Animus observed him, if he has just a little bit of strength left, he could've ended the fight with his victory.
But he was way too weak now.
He laughed, staring at the sky.
He guessed his revenge ended before it can even began.
